# Can Google Workspace handle large files and complex documents on a patchy internet connection?

I've been trying to work out whether Google Workspace can handle large files and complex documents on a patchy connection. Real-time collaboration is the strength people point to, with several people editing the same document, sheet or presentation at once, changes saved automatically and no version conflicts. In the G2 reviews I read, it handles them best when offline access is set up in advance through Chrome, while very large files and complex documents on an unreliable connection are where loading takes longer and people keep dedicated software for the heaviest tasks.

For office suites buyers, the useful question is the kind of document rather than team size. Shared documents, presentations and everyday spreadsheets suit a browser-based suite well, and teams that travel or work on site get the same collaboration by setting up offline access before they need it.

What I'd like to hear from people who work on the move:

Did you set up offline access before you needed it?

Which files do you keep in dedicated software?

Does splitting a large sheet help?

What's your routine before working somewhere with an unreliable connection?

Setting up offline access in Chrome before a trip has saved me more than once. Real-time editing with the team is the reason we stay on it.
