Question on: Certain
I've heard about using event apps to help my exhibitors get new leads at a conference. How does that work?
Exhibitor Lead Gathering

Gathering leads in the app is really easy. You can offer lead retrieval to certain exhibitors or all of them! Using the in-app scanner, exhibitors can easily scan attendee badges for contact information. The system allows exhibitors to rate leads and add supplemental notes. Exhibitors may then log into their own special area of the system to collect and download leads with ratings and notes for each. The event planner can also track and monitor each exhibitor's lead retrieval success.

Question on: Certain
How can I be sure that my organization and attendee data is safe in the app?
Data security on event apps

That's a great question and one that should be on everyone's mind. You'll want to be certain that the event app vendor you choose has all processes in place to keep your information secure from end to end. You'll also want to know that those processes and safeguards are verified with third-party testing.
Ask questions of your event app vendor. These are good ones to start with: 1) Do you have a SOC 2 report and will you share it with us? 2) Do you have vulnerability testing performed by a third party and can you share high-level results with us? 3) What tools can attendees use to control their privacy in the app? 4) How do you manage the security and privacy of our data and files? 5) How can we control access to the app and different sets of data for our users?
The key is to ask questions.

Certainly! Event apps offer a great way to highlight sponsors and exhibitors. Certain Touchpoint (formerly Gather Digital) offers many ways to give value to these important partners. Lead retrieval is one of the most popular. You can also add sponsor images to the highly-visible home page of the app in many configurable ways--a large key sponsor image, several images or rotating images. You can add sponsor banners to individual agenda sessions or to your live poll welcome screen. You could even drive traffic to exhibitor booths by offering a badge game in the app whereby attendees visit booths, enter proper codes and earn badges.
