In my most recent endeavor, Skype became the center point of our 20+ seat team of geographically separated developers. We used its VoIP for daily scrum meetings, on demand voice conversations among teams, and IM conversations throughout the day. While somewhat difficult to measure, this level of interconnection between disparate parties allowed us to operate as a single, cohesive team might have in the same brick and mortar. Some of Skype's new features have really helped me as I've worked through the first steps with my new start-up. These are priced reasonably, even when compared to bargain basement VoIP offerings, and perform quite well.
