How do you get that vectorized with it looking identical to how you drew or wrote it? I have used image trace and often it does not turn out great.

How can integrate textures better with Illustrator?
I can place textures a lot better with Photoshop. I was wondering if there was something I'm not doing right to achieve the same effect in Illustrator.

If you aren’t using filters within illustrator than I would place it over and apply a screen effect like multiply to the texture layer. But there are many of the same effects in illustrator that are in Photoshop. Google tutorials there is a lot of useful easy to follow illustrator tutorials online.

It’s good you are asking this question. Illustrator is best for creating graphics that can be resized and for designing logos. And photoshop is best for photos and web graphics. But as they can’t be resized once they are created, it’s better to use Illustrator and than export as a JPG.

If you want the simplest comparison, in my opinion, I'd offer this: Use Illustrator for vector images (to create/edit art that scales to any size without pixelation) & Photoshop for raster images (to fine-tune photographic images). That said, there's a huge depth to both. I work with engineers daily & will say that Illustrator is my go-to for nearly everything the team needs.
