What Is a Text Editor? And Why Does It Matter to Developers?
If you have Windows, you have access to the default Notepad application installed on your computer.
At some point, you would have used Notepad to replace Microsoft Word. But those who work with code understand that while it looks similar to Microsoft Word in terms of providing a writing space, Notepad can do more.
Most modern systems come with pre-installed basic text editor software like Notepad, and you can use them for more than just taking notes and creating documents.

Hey Siddhant, good question! While I'm not a part of the Notepad++ team, I do know they have their source code available here: https://github.com/notepad-plus-plus/notepad-plus-plus. As far as pull requests are concerned, they do have some pull guidelines, which they have outlined here: https://github.com/notepad-plus-plus/notepad-plus-plus/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md . It seems like Notepad++ does have pretty solid language support as a whole – if there's a language you'd like to use that isn't already recognized by the program, they have user-defined language support built in: https://npp-user-manual.org/docs/user-defined-language-system/. Hope these help!
