Veeam Backup & Replication licenses are purchased on a perpetual basis with basic or production maintenance, or a subscription license which includes Production 24x7 support.
Veeam Backup & Replication is licensed per CPU socket on hosts with virtual machines (VMs) to be backed up, replicated, monitored or reported on. A license is required for each occupied motherboard socket as reported by the hypervisor API.
Note: Target hosts (for replication and migration jobs) do not need to be licensed.
