Apologies for the long delayed response - we just found out about this discussion area. The 30+ private cloud data centers where our backups are stored are co-location centers. We own and are responsible for the hardware in our cage, but the data centers are managed by experts in data center security.

SolarWinds stores backups in more than 30 ISO or SOC certified data centers located in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, USA, and Canada.

Apologies for the long delayed response - we just found out about this discussion area. SolarWinds Backups are AES 256-bit encrypted in transit and at rest. Customers have the choice of either creating and holding their own encryption key, or having one automatically generated by the system. Backups are sent via a TLS 1.2 connection to help safeguard privacy and data integrity. Additionally, all backup data is stored in data centers with physical security safeguards in place.
