Can't you give support to the older versions of the software like Windows7 ?
As Windows 7 doesn't have support, and we have more significant technological needs now, it should not be easy for Windows 7 to respond to them since many new apps are incompatible.

what is the best way to set your wifi connection

If you are using a laptop, some manufacturers have a WiFi slide button on the side of the machine. Check to see if this is switched on. You may be surprised that that was the issue all along. Also, make sure your WiFi network is set-up to broadcast the SSID and not set to "hidden" or "private". After that, it would be a matter to check your Wireless adapter's driver and see if you can update it. If those don't work, you may need to take a look at your Wireless adapter settings to see if anything is configured wrong or your wireless NIC may be bad and needs replaced. Good luck!
