Without knowing more about your specific device configuration, it’s hard to know exactly why you’re having that issue. Assuming you are in the same room as the other player and connected to the same router, distance from the router shouldn't be causing a delay. You might try some of the troubleshooting steps that Kahoot! recommends for users who are connectivity issues to verify that your device has a stable connection to the game.
