What is the spreadsheet still doing in your process, and why has nothing replaced it?
The spreadsheet would probably survive longest as the reconciliation layer — tracking retainage releases, approved changes, and what accounting says is billable against what the project team expects. I’d test whether the platform can carry one real contract from schedule of values through progress billing, retainage, change orders, and final release without exporting anything. If it can’t, the spreadsheet hasn’t really been replaced.

For anyone running live job costing: how far behind the field is your cost data actually, once field time and supplier invoices catch up?
I’d want to know which cost inputs still lag in practice. Committed costs may update quickly, but if field time or supplier invoices arrive days later, the “real-time” job view can still leave finance reacting after the margin has already moved.
