Its user community is friendly and professional, helping you with any arising issues with zabbix.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

It can have a bit of a steep learning curve for first time users because you need advanced knowledge of databases and operating systems. **Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Zabbix?**

The UI is fairly modern and has been getting better. The graphing has been very much improved since its first release as well as the number of plugins have greatly increased

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

I still prefer Nagios as far as alerting, but Zabbix has gained traction through the iterations and has become my go-to for alerting. The inventory system still suffers and in large deployments suffers slow queries

**Recommendations to others considering Zabbix:**

Zabbix does cover most requirements of monitoring a server networking environment, but if you require precise performance graphing, there are other solutions that are much better

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are 3 main reasons I am currently using Zabbix in our environment. One being the alerting, two for the graphing capabilities, and three for the monitoring.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

In other monitoring tools, it cannot receive NetFlow data as a bundle and cannot instantly monitor wan lines in case of a problem, since there is no stg feature.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dylan S. | Network Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Zabbix?**

It is an advanced network monitoring tool. It can be used and customized to fit anyone's needs. Best of all, it doesn't cost a cent to use unless you pay for their support. For small and large companies, that's great as it reduces overall costs, which you can use elsewhere.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

It is very advanced. Not suitable for beginners or people who aren't very technical. I don't believe we are using it to its full potential as we don't have a deep understanding of how it all works and how to customize it.

**Recommendations to others considering Zabbix:**

Try it out if you are technical. If not, look at other monitoring tools like LibreNMS.

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has now been monitoring thousands of devices for us via SNMP and ICMP. We can find when a problem arises quickly and be alerted to it.

  ### 24. Solid Open Source Solutions for Your Environment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Zabbix?**

Zabbix is easily customizable for any network environment. The feature set is so rich, it at first could be very overwhelming. Once you've integrated it into your environment, you'll wonder how it is that you were not using it. There are many solutions that provide similar reporting and monitoring, but they typically are costly to purchase and implement.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

If you use Zabbix in the purely Open Source version, finding information can easily overwhelm and put off some who have chosen it as their monitoring and reporting solution. You do need to invest a pretty significant amount of time in learning some of the best features and primarily how templates work. You can have a robust and inexpensive solution, but you have to commit the time to learn the elements independently.

**Recommendations to others considering Zabbix:**

I would recommend using a separate virtual server installation of Zabbix to make it easy to install and configure at first. They provide many downloadable virtual machine templates to make installation on a virtualized system very easy. This way, you can then focus on the configuration of monitoring of your systems in your environment rather than the initial setup of the Zabbix server.

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had issues with Windows services crashing on our ERP system that we would only learn about through user support tickets. In order to get ahead of problems before users began having program crashes or lost work, we needed a solution to monitor those services and report on any potential issues. Zabbix provides an easy-to-use Open Source solution for monitoring both Windows and Linux servers and services all within a single pane of glass.

  ### 25. Great open source network overview application

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher T. | Director of Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Zabbix?**

GUI is easy to interpret. Alerts can be set automatically. Latency and usage graphs for equipment and VLANS

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

It does not have auto-discover for equipment. Groupings for buildings and alerts is super manual

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Benefits are network visibility, automatic alerts for any type of network impact or power outage

  ### 26. Reliable and trustworthy monitoring solution

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carol M. | Research And Development Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Zabbix?**

What I like best about zabbix is that it is an open source software and you get it for free. I also like how it is always being updated to add more features and make it more user friendly. I also like how flexible it is in that it is highly customisable for any situation. I like how quickly it alerts you in case there is an issue with your servers.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

Zabbix's customer support is poor and they never respond to your concerns. It is very difficult to use and understand for individuals using it for the first time. I also think that the user interface can be greatly improved.

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Zabbix has been an amazing and reliable tool for monitoring our servers and systems and also some of our applications. We also use it to generate reports that help in making important decisions with our systems. It has really helped in saving time and resources which is a big advantage of this tool.

  ### 27. Tried and true, Zabbix is an open source powerhouse of monitoring technologies

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben M. | Head of Development Technologies, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Zabbix?**

I love that Zabbix is free and open source! Zabbix was built on server technologies that have been around for a long time and that almost any web server can run, so I have never had a situation where the technology couldn't support Zabbix. It has an incredibly deep configuration system, and as a result, it can monitor or visualize pretty much any data imaginable.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

The methodologies behind Zabbix and how users interact with it feel like they are aging a bit. Additionally, because of its complexity and flexibility, configuring and maintaining a Zabbix instance can be a significant maintenance burden. I find myself falling out of use with Zabbix over time, and then spending a lot of time auditing my instance later.

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Zabbix extensively over the years for monitoring both my internal network as well as all of my public websites and other online properties. Additionally, I have used it at several past jobs to implement a full-featured monitoring solution for their network. When properly maintained, it gives you peace of mind that you know what's happening within your network or your services, and you have the tools to help track down issues as they occur.

  ### 28. Zabbix is a pursuit of happiness in matters of Network Performance Monitoring.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

I have nothing to comment as negative with this tool as it meets all our needs.

**Recommendations to others considering Zabbix:**

I do recommend the use of this tool for Network Performance Monitoring as it worth having.

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instant alerts when errors occurs.
Ease of monitoring storage systems.
Reliable with Network Performance Monitoring.

  ### 29. Zabbix

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anson A. | Data Czar, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Zabbix?**

Configurable. YOu can host. Add plugins/macros. Can clear out historical data or archive them (via db table access).

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

requires agent to be installed. requires a centralized DB. doesn't work with timeseries dbs.

**Recommendations to others considering Zabbix:**

If you want time series base, then don't use zabbix. However, if you want customizable alerts and monitoring this can work, if you don't want to use cloud based monitoring like DataDog, etc..

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

operations monitoring, alerting & notifications.

  ### 30. Zabbix - Great IT Monitoring Services

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2016

**What do you like best about Zabbix?**

Our IT team uses the program to monitor and create visualize outputs of network data. It has been critial in monitoring network operations during the pandemic given that we have numerous employees in multiple offices, some of whom are physically in-office, and some of whom connect to our servers via the cloud.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

There is not much to dislike about this program, though the fact that the program is unable to monitor Windows services directly (and requires a separate platform/tool) is somewhat annoying.

**Recommendations to others considering Zabbix:**

Use if you are big enough to need it. You can monitor metrics across tens of thousands of devices, so smaller companies/users may not have a need for all of Zabbix' functionality.

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this program to monitor network usage and statistics. We use this program to further monitor areas of the network that require maintenance or have issues pop up.

  ### 31. Zabbix is one the best and reliable free softwares

Zabbix is highly flexible with easily customizable out of box templates , hosts auto-discovery, low level discovery of items, configurable actions, out of box multi-tenancy support (a result of granular user roles and permissions, host groups and tags), ad-hoc graphs, customizable dashboards, strong API for integration with other systems and intuitive maps. I also like the clear and open roadmap.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

For first timers it takes a lot of time to figure out how things work, customize or tune

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Zabbix we monitor the whole IP Network Infrastructure and Services. We are also better equipped to grant access to our customers so they can view different metrics of their services.

  ### 44. One of the best Opensource NMS tool for network administrators.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nirmesh S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Zabbix?**

The best thing about Zabbix is its a free tool that you can easily install in any Linux flavored machines and the installation process is also easy, you need need to be very technically good to install the tool and the steps of installation are very well documented in their website.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

One of the disadvantages of Zabbix is the template used for the different vendor of network devices are pretty old and for adding new host on the tool with SNMPv3, finding a template is a task.

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving majorly monitoring problem of ISP DIA and point to point links of the business and the CPU/Memory Utilization of critical production network hosts in our business environment.

  ### 45. Server monitoring just became easier

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yasas Sri S. | Systems Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Zabbix?**

Zabbix is the best open-source monitoring tool that allows me to customize templates as I want to monitor any server and desktop operating systems and set different threshold limits for alerts by simply editing a xml file.

Not only operating systems, It allows me to monitor VMware ESXi hosts and also the enterprise network devices such as Routers, Switches and Access Points as well.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

With Zabbix, I have tried to monitor Cent OS, Ubuntu OS and Windows 10 OS using SNMP and I have noticed that it takes more time to identify services that are running in the host system (Some times it takes more than 1 hour) and also it can identify only few services with SNMP.

But later-on, I have installed Zabbix agents to all the 3 operating systems and then add them to Zabbix server. Then the server started identifying all the host services with in seconds. So, my recommendation is to always use Zabbix Agent if it is available for the client.

**Recommendations to others considering Zabbix:**

Always use Zabbix Agent if it is available for the client rather than SNMP.

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Zabbix, currently I'm monitoring physical and virtual server performance and usage [CPU, Memory, Storage, etc].

I have realized that Zabbix made my life easier since it sends me alerts as e-mails if any issue occurred in my servers. Specially it helps me to manage my server storage since it sends alerts after severs reach the threshold limits, so I am able to take necessary precautions to maintain my servers even though I'm at home.

  ### 46. Immediately, the best tool to understand what works and what needs attention in your data center (CED)

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco P. | Network Engineer and IT specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Zabbix?**

Zabbix is a great tool for automation control. It easily assists administration in managing permissions and roles for users. The audit view of the custom log can be modified according to roles and permissions to maintain data confidentiality. The trigger display can be customized. The availability report has a new time filter that can be used to select a time range to view specific data.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

The detection of problems and metric collection visualization should be configurable for each user view. The configuration needs event correlation to activate points and should come with a test function key to verify functionality.

**Recommendations to others considering Zabbix:**

The predefined templates make it easier to get started and provide some study examples, but this is not a plug and play application, so it is necessary to read at least the official knowledge base or specific manuals for the version in use.

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

End-to-end security and distributed monitoring help to track and control remote data centers. Zabbix, through proxy servers, helps to isolate the network and speed up the response from the node. The best thing I like about Zabbix is that the agents do not become outdated. The new version of Zabbix always supports its previous version of the agent. Zabbix 4.X also supports IPv4 or IPv6 or mixes the Internet protocol for addressing, which saved us a lot of time in the total integration with AWS EC2 in the cloud.

  ### 47. Poorly documented and complicated for the network but perfect for systems and SNMP hosts!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Giovanni B. | Junior System Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Zabbix?**

We installed Zabbix almost two months ago. I heard from a friend who works in a web company as a Linux systems admin. Very simple installation, you can find many documents on the official site and the web. But the configuration is a bit complicated for a network guy. I am a network engineer and it is a system monitoring tool. My friend tells me it's better for system monitoring, but in my opinion, if you want network monitoring, you can use different software.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

My experience with Zabbix has been perfect, so there's nothing to complain about except the lack of a truly comprehensive manual for the deployment and initial configuration of the supported and long-term updated version 4.

**Recommendations to others considering Zabbix:**

Use it to have everything protected, so you can always see what's happening with your link, then everything will be under control with a good monitoring team. It's better to spend time setting up a monitoring system rather than having to restore clusters and hosts after various disasters and crashes.

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All our servers were in Zabbix, as we have a lot of e-commerce sites, we need to monitor them to avoid any issues on the site and losing our sales, so Zabbix has helped us a lot to always see it and quickly resolve any problem that it shows us, also through alerts on Telegram or on modern chats configured on our smartphones for paging functionality.

  ### 48. Absolutely economical and the free open-source version already allows for complete monitoring.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gaetano R. | DevOps Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Zabbix?**

Adapting it to your environment and personalizing it also takes some time, but in the end, it is something that will help you save yourself from device-by-device control. My experience has been very positive, I have used many monitoring tools that were also good, but this is the one that convinced me the most. It takes time for implementation but it is understood that it is a free tool.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

It takes patience and time to adjust the trigger so that it only shows the problems that actually exist in the infrastructures, but once it is adapted to your needs, it becomes an ally in being aware of resources and being able to react in time. When a problem arises with the tool, there aren't many forums and it requires investing time in finding the solution. In almost a year and a half that I've had the tool, I've only had the monitoring stop for a few hours because the service was interrupted; I found the cause by searching in the forums and was able to solve the problem.

**Recommendations to others considering Zabbix:**

Support tickets sound expensive if you purchase some starter packs, so an Enterprise package is always recommended if it is necessary for its implementation in the complete infrastructure of a large organization.

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have implemented the device with Ubuntu and if you follow the installation manual, it is simple. You can add a variety of monitoring resources and the triggers can be customized according to your needs. The dashboard gives you a very broad view of all the computer's resources and allows you to prioritize more efficiently. You can create your own maps, review detailed resource graphs, create macros, and view online information of all devices. Overall, it is a very useful tool.

  ### 49. Proactive alerting is always essential, Zabbix helps to achieve it fully.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio Maria A. | SDN Network Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Zabbix?**

For my team, it has proven to be a performant and optimal monitoring tool based on the solid Linux kernel, free and open source with an effective dashboard. Implementation of new hosts, items, and triggers is quite simple, a complete web-based tool (I presume PHP) with ease of adding hosts that need to be monitored on a single configuration web browser but with multiuser support.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

Paid support and the community is not very active today, the knowledge base guides are available but for previous versions and not for version 4 LTS. Difficulty in creating objects and, moreover, monitoring Windows Hypervisor is difficult compared to monitoring other open source virtualization servers like Proxmox or OpenStack. The predefined charts selectable in the non-enterprise version are inferior compared to other monitoring tools.

**Recommendations to others considering Zabbix:**

Integrate with Bash scripting or Python rather than buying very expensive and less customizable templates; open source is increasingly scalable and migratable in the future towards different services.

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thanks to Zabbix, my team that deals with software-defined networking is able to fully and quickly know in real-time the entire state of the logical controller behind the applied networking configurations, so as to timely detect and resolve any issues related to latencies or high CPU loads, which are often frequent in SDN systems during the processing of routing and switching information with a large number of entries, saving a lot of time in debugging and resolving fatal crashes.

  ### 50. The most one can expect from open-source for monitoring critical and production systems

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arturo D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Zabbix?**

Zabbix was mostly created during the time it was created precisely for this. This is everything that happens in a fun way like everything and still. Zabbix is very nice and well made to be used.

**What do you dislike about Zabbix?**

So, we are really trying to kick off Zabbix. What I like most about everything is the beauty and similarity of all this. It's not really a challenge to start and change the thing. You can also choose your love and all your thoughts. Moreover, this is a real dream and if you don't like something and you can do it, you can do it. The ideas help to understand that the questions have been retrieved and many have been made throughout the course.

**Recommendations to others considering Zabbix:**

There are many pieces of equipment for which ready-made models do not exist. It takes a lot of time to search for models on the Internet. And writing models by oneself is very problematic.

**What problems is Zabbix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

However, I don't think I had to do anything about what is being said to make it happen. I should understand what is there, the choice is absolutely not as it could be. I am one of the authors of what was necessary. I thought that the deceased should have let go and understood something important and of great significance.
