The architecture of X somehow results in less memory usage than Wayland. That makes it particularly good on weaker devices. Also, certain functionality benefits from X's anything-can-see-anything security model, such as screen sharing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Other than the looming threat from the security model, there actually is a user-perceptible difference: I can't get 60FPS video to play through X. Oh and having to run apps through this extra Xwayland system harms me spiritually 😅 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
