As our global events and multilingual stakeholder engagement manager, the centralized admin settings panel in Worksection is my favorite feature, and it completely transformed how I coordinate our cross-border agricultural export events with partners spread across Latin America and Asia. The sidebar navigation neatly groups all admin modules including Members, Workflows, Custom Fields, Security, Integrations and API access in one single menu, so I don’t need to jump between disjointed dashboards to configure event project controls.
The timezone, work hour and holiday configuration panel saves me roughly four hours every week. I manage hybrid town halls, trade show virtual booths and partner negotiation sessions across multiple time zones, and this tool lets me set our base GMT-8 timezone, toggle the 24-hour clock, define company working hours, and set weekend and holiday schedules. When I build event task timelines for our Mexico or Thailand partners, Worksection automatically shifts task due dates away from regional holidays, so I avoid scheduling critical event briefings or interpreter check-ins on public holidays. Previously, I manually edited every deadline in spreadsheets to accommodate global holidays, which created frequent human error.
The dual dark/light mode sidebar logo branding and custom subdomain setup is another tool I rely on heavily. I upload separate transparent PNG logos for dark and light UI themes, and our branded workspace URL gives our international vendor partners a consistent, familiar experience when they log in to review event task lists, interpreter booking tasks and webinar prep checklists. When onboarding outside interpreters or trade show contractors, this branded workspace helps reinforce trust with our overseas stakeholders.
The unexpected benefit I discovered is how these native admin controls simplify cross-border data privacy compliance aligned with CCPA. From the same admin sidebar, I can adjust member permissions, audit user access logs, and configure email notification quiet hours. This lets me honor participant opt-out requests for event PII data, and restrict after-hours notifications for our global partners so they don’t receive event alerts outside their local working hours. I can also map custom fields to capture attendee consent status for our virtual events, then push that metadata via Worksection’s webhook and API into Zapier and HubSpot, linking event project data directly to our CRM records.
The built-in workflow builder paired with custom fields also streamlines my event prep work. For example, I created a workflow that auto-assigns interpreter brief tasks and sends reminders three days before each hybrid Kudo webinar, tagging tasks with custom fields for language pair and regional partner. This eliminates dozens of manual reminder emails I previously sent out for every event.
Suggestions: I hope Worksection adds separate, multi-region holiday calendars, so I can assign US, Latin America and Asian holiday schedules to individual event projects instead of using a single global calendar. It would also be helpful to add project-level timezone overrides, so I can set a project-specific timezone for our Asia-based trade events without changing the main account default timezone. As our global events and multilingual stakeholder engagement manager, the biggest pain point within Worksection is its rigid global-only holiday and timezone configuration. All settings are locked to a single account-wide timezone and holiday calendar, there is no option to assign separate regional calendars to individual event projects. This creates constant headaches for our cross-border agricultural export events. For example, when I run a virtual trade show for our Mexico partners, I cannot set Mexican national holidays for that project independently; the platform only uses our US-based global holiday schedule. I have to manually adjust every interpreter briefing and webinar setup task deadline one by one to avoid scheduling conflicts, which adds extra manual work and creates risk of missed deadlines for our Latin American and Asian stakeholder sessions. This limitation also makes it harder to align task timelines with local working hours for our contracted interpreters based overseas.
The second frustrating limitation is the webhook payload structure, which lacks granular metadata fields I need for CCPA compliance tracking. I push event task and attendee consent data from Worksection through webhooks into Zapier and HubSpot CRM. Right now, the webhook does not pass custom field labels such as participant PII consent status or interpreter NDA completion flags reliably. Every time we run a large hybrid town hall with hundreds of attendees, I need to manually export CSV logs and clean the data before importing it to our CRM. This extra manual step adds risk of human error when handling sensitive attendee data and slows down our post-event compliance audit work.
The third major issue is the limited guest user permission controls. I frequently invite external interpreters, trade show vendors and overseas partner contacts into Worksection as guest users to view event prep tasks. Guest accounts cannot have field-level permission restrictions; they either see all custom fields on a task or none at all. I cannot hide sensitive PII fields like attendee contact information or interpreter contract details from external guests. To protect participant data and maintain CCPA compliance, I end up creating duplicate sanitized task copies for external vendors, which bloats our workspace and creates version control confusion across event projects.
I also find the platform’s notification system lacks per-project timezone overrides. Even if an event project is for Asia-based partners, task reminder emails still fire based on our global GMT-8 timezone, sending alerts to our Thailand interpreters deep in their local night hours. While the global “off-hours email toggle” exists, it applies account-wide and cannot be set separately for each project team.
Suggestions: First, add project-level timezone and multi-region holiday calendars so I can assign US, Latin America and Asia holiday rules independently for each event project. Second, expand webhook payloads to include all custom field values in real time, so consent and NDA metadata sync seamlessly to HubSpot without manual CSV exports. Finally, add field-level access permissions for guest users, allowing admins to hide sensitive PII custom fields from external contractors while still letting them view core event task details.
