**Reviewed by:** Anil B. | Fresher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

The thing that I like best about Windows 7 is that it's very straightforward and convenient. It operates easily on old hardware, and it is quite stable. Moreover, its Start Menu is very clear, and the speed of operation is excellent. Furthermore, the simplicity of the interface makes me feel comfortable while browsing and working.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

Windows 7 does not receive any official updates regarding security, making its use unsafe in today’s web environment. In addition, some programs and games do not support it anymore. In comparison to more recent OS versions, it misses some advanced functions and other upgrades in the system that have been introduced recently.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In order to solve a variety of problems associated with using a computer on a daily basis, Windows 7 can provide a solid foundation through its reliable and user-friendly operating system. It allows me to be more productive and not worry about having any problems related to crashes or complex settings. Having a simple user interface is helpful in multitasking, while also supporting hardware.

  ### 2. Simple, Stable, and Fast—Windows 7 Still Feels Great to Use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ANANDA D. | Software Engineering Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

I like the simplicity and ease of use of Windows 7. It has a clean interface, fast performance and is very stable compared to older versions. Features like the taskbar preview, quick search and smooth navigation. make everyday work convenient. It also supports a wide range of software and runs efficiently even on low-end systems.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

One downside of Windows 7 is that it no longer receives security updates, which makes itt less safe to use. It also lacks many modern features and compatibility with newer software and hardware. Sometimes, finding updated drivers can be difficult, and performance may not be as smooth compared to newer operating systems.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windows 7 helps solve problems related to slow and complicatted systems by providing a simple and stable environment. It allows me to run essential applications smoothly without requiring high-end hardware, which saves cost. Its easy interface improves productivity, helps me complete tasks faster, and reduces technical issues during daily work.

  ### 3. Windows 7: A Great, Stable, and robust OS for its time.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

Windows 7 was is one of the better OS iterations for the Microsoft Windows OS series which is now on Windows 11. iT has a clean UI and is easy to use.it integrated well with local networks and performed great and was easy to administer. Price from Microsoft was consistent with previous iterations of the OS. It was well supported by Microsoft and easy to install and onboard customers. It had early AI features in the form of initial Cortana deployments. Due to its age, Microsofts's retirement of support for it and the current proliferation of AI, it has become outdated.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

I really liked it as a stable OS and there was nothing I disliked in it. I would have rather seen it stick around rather than Microsoft deploy Windows 8.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windows 7 currently solves the issue of support for older POS and embedded systems that require the OS to run and cannot be upgraded.

  ### 4. Easy-to-Use Interface and Smooth Navigation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kiran S. | Senior UX Designer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

One of the best things I liked about Windows 7 is its easy to use interface. It can be used for anyone, even without any technical knowledge or have no prior experience with computers.
We can navigate across other apps smoothly without any distractions or issues.
I think it supports almost all the hardwares & havent faced any issues as such

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

Now that we have newer versions like Windows 10 and 11, which work extremely well compared to Windows 7, I recommend that anyone purchasing a new system use Windows 11. Also, since Microsoft has ended support for Windows 7, there may be no security updates or fixes for people still using it, which is a much larger issue to consider.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, the biggest advantage is how simple and reliable it is. It runs smoothly, supports most older software and devices, and doesn’t come with too many background processes or forced updates. Because of that, everyday tasks like browsing, working on documents, or using older applications feel fast, straightforward, and hassle-free.

  ### 5. Smooth, Fast, and Reliable—A Worthy Windows XP Alternative

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vikas B. | Assistant Professor, Education Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

one of the best alternatives to windows Xp. previous versions like Vista etc were failures but windows 7 managed to fill the space made vacant by Xp. the environment and transitions were smooth. the OS was not resource hungry and boot time was too good. driver installations of devices remained issueless most of the times. peripherals connects quickly and performance was good. patches were provided over fortnight by the microsoft and glitches often did not occurred in my ecosystem.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

the OS has reached EoL and microsoft do not provide the patches and updates anymore. so the application developers moved their applications to newer versions of windows and hance windows 7 do not support latest updates of different 3rd party softwares.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

following solutions are ones i observed
1. Improved System Stability
2. Faster Performance
3. Improved User Interface
4. Better File and Program Management

  ### 6. Windows 7 Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

I believe it was the first all-stable-around version among all Windows client OS. So the stability is the key aspect of this operating system. Additionally the UX is very high as well as the customization.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

Windows 7 is good and one of my favorite operating systems but unfortunately it's not the most secured one and old. In today's operating systems I cannot rely on it because of the security issues may affect my system. If there are decent EDR solutions still supported to Windows 7, then still it's a go but for me it's not.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In previous operating systems, especially Windows XP, I cannot press the power button "confidently" when system freezed somehow but in this OS, there is no fear of it. Yes, this is not a best practice shutting down or restarting the system but in certain scenarios it might be a need. Because of that I like Windows 7 very much.

  ### 7. windows 7 experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brindha R. | Research, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

What I like most about Windows 7 is how stable and simple it feels. It doesn’t try to overcomplicate things, and everything is easy to find and use. The system runs smoothly even on older hardware, and it rarely crashes, which is something I really appreciate. The interface is clean and familiar, the taskbar is very practical, and overall it just feels reliable for day-to-day work without unnecessary background processes slowing things down.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

One thing I dislike about Windows 7 is that it’s quite outdated now. Many newer applications and drivers no longer fully support it, which can be frustrating at times. Security updates are also no longer available, so you have to be extra careful when connecting to the internet. While it still works well for basic tasks, it doesn’t have some of the newer features and performance improvements you get with newer versions of Windows.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windows 7 mainly solves the problem of having a stable and lightweight operating system that works well on older or low-spec hardware. For me, it’s been helpful because I can still use my system smoothly without needing frequent upgrades or high system requirements. It handles everyday tasks like browsing, document work, basic software usage, and system management without lag or unnecessary interruptions. This has benefited me by keeping my workflow simple and reliable, especially for basic work where I don’t need heavy or modern features, and I can focus on getting things done instead of dealing with system issues.

  ### 8. Refined Masterpiece

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

The "Aero" Aesthetic
Windows 7 was arguably the most beautiful version of Windows. The Aero Glass theme featured translucent window borders and subtle animations that felt premium and modern. Unlike the "flat" design of modern Windows 10/11, Windows 7 had depth, shadows, and a sense of texture that made the desktop feel like a tactile workspace.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

The "Edition" Confusion
One of the most annoying parts of Windows 7 was the decision to split it into six different versions: Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate.
• Users often felt "nickeled and dimed" because basic features like changing the wallpaper were disabled in the Starter edition, and business features like BitLocker encryption were locked behind the expensive Ultimate edition.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving "Notification Fatigue"
• The Problem: In Vista, the User Account Control (UAC) was incredibly aggressive. It would dim your screen and ask for permission for almost every minor setting change, which most people found "naggy" and eventually ignored (creating a security risk)

  ### 9. Windows 7: The Best Operating System I’ve Ever Used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammed H. | Technical Recruiter, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

It was the best Operating System ever existed in this world

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

There’s really nothing to dislike about Windows 7. The only downside I noticed is that it could be a bit slow at times, and it did have a few bugs.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its user interface was extremely mind-blowing at the time, and even today I still consider it one of the best OS versions Windows has created. It boots faster, handles multitasking more smoothly, and delivers better overall performance, even on older PCs.

  ### 10. Still Works, But Windows 7’s Lack of Support Raises Security Risks

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shawn B. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

Windows 7 was groundbreaking for it's time and I still love to use it; however it has been sunset. That said, I still have some expensive software that was purchased a long time ago that is still running on Windows 7. (and it still works!)

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

It's not longer supported and can be a security risk in using the outdated OS.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It still allows me to let software run that was made during this time without having to pay for costly upgrades.

  ### 11. I like working with Windows 7

**Reviewed by:** Rodrigo M. | Customer Service , Automotive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

The system is still operational to this day, can be updated as needed, and continues to function efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

It may be vulnerable when used with certain applications or systems.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the key benefits is optimized memory and processor usage, which helps the software run smoothly even on limited hardware

  ### 12. Stable, Fast, and User-Friendly Interface

I truly appreciate Windows 7 for its stability and performance, making it one of Microsoft's most well-regarded operating systems. I love its clean, simple, and familiar interface which makes navigation intuitive. The large clean icons and easy app pinning add to the usability, allowing me to access my frequently used applications quickly. Features like Aero Peek and Aero Snap enhance my user experience by facilitating window management, making multitasking simple and efficient. The operating system is fast and reliable, ensuring a smooth workflow without any frustrating lag. I find the setup process straightforward with simple screens and minimal technical jargon, which is excellent for users of all technical backgrounds. Windows 7's compatibility with older software is another standout feature, making it versatile for both personal and professional use. Overall, its clean interface and excellent compatibility make it a dependable choice for any setting.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

Clean simple screen

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Windows 7 is stable, fast, and user-friendly, with a clean interface and excellent compatibility with older software, making tasks like writing documents, making spreadsheets, and presentations simple.

  ### 13. Great OS, but outdated and unsupported—security and compatibility hold it back

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

Windows 7 is its perfect balance of simplicity, stability, and performance. It has a clean, user-friendly interface that is easy to navigate even for beginners. Windows 7 runs smoothly on older hardware, boots faster than many versions, and rarely crashes. The taskbar design, window snapping feature, and overall reliability make it comfortable and productive for everyday use.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

It is now outdated and no longer supported by Microsoft, which makes it unsafe for modern use. It lacks regular security updates, struggles with newer hardware and software compatibility, and does not support many modern applications, drivers, and features that are common today.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It improved system stability, so the operating system crashes far less and works smoothly for long hours, which benefits me by reducing interruptions and data loss. Windows 7 also solved performance issues by running efficiently even on low or older hardware, allowing me to work without needing frequent upgrades. Its improved taskbar, faster file search, and better window management solved productivity problems, helping me multitask easily and complete work faster. Overall, it provides a reliable, simple, and comfortable computing experience that makes everyday tasks stress-free.

  ### 14. Streamlined, Intuitive UI That Still Gets the Job Done

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trevor Y. | Tech services lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

The UI feels more streamlined and intuitive compared with Windows 11. We use it in our environment for specific programs we need.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

The fact that its extended support has ended means it’s no longer safe to use online unless you rely on very robust AV software and are extremely careful about how you use it.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Windows 7 for our printing software, which prints on our devices, and we also rely on it for the lasers we use to etch on machines.

  ### 15. Smooth and Lightweight, but Lacks in Security and Modern App Support

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

The main thing I like about Windows 7 is its smoothness. It feels fast and lightweight, and in my experience it was much faster than newer operating systems like Windows 10/11. It also comes with a clean, neat interface, and the amount of bloatware was minimal.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

It’s about the present, not the past. When Windows 7 launched, it was great for its time, but now it falls short in some areas, like software security updates. A lot of modern apps also aren’t compatible.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Boots up faster and delivers better performance on low-end hardware. It also uses less RAM and CPU, and the interface feels cleaner and more streamlined overall.

  ### 16. Reliable Legacy with Modern Limitations

**Reviewed by:** Roy C.

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

I appreciated Windows 7 as an improvement over the legacy Windows XP platform, particularly with the inclusion of security enhancements and its primary function as a 64-bit operating system. It was well-regarded during its time due to the advancements it brought, such as more support for drivers and ancillary products like printers and scanners. Despite being somewhat demanding on processing power and memory, it effectively served as the next generation of an operating system. The transition to Windows 7 was seamless since it was just an upgrade path from previous Windows systems, with no significant challenges or surprises, but rather benefits. During its tenure, it was the logical progression for any environment utilizing Windows operating systems, making it a necessary and effective choice for everyday business applications like agency management systems, scanning programs, word processing, spreadsheets, calendars, and email.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

I found that Windows 7 became outdated over time, primarily because it was retired for a decade without updates. This led to significant security issues, which are a major concern in today's digital environment. Another noticeable challenge with Windows 7 was that it was power-hungry, requiring more processing power and additional RAM, which was a bit demanding for systems at the time.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windows 7 improved security and functionality over Windows XP, offering more drivers and 64-bit support, enhancing overall system performance.

I really like the look and feel, especially how everything worked from Windows XP through Windows 7.

After the last service pack, downloading updates on a clean Windows 7 took a very long time. A new service pack would have been ideal to speed up installs.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Had more automation, streamlined installs and helped with mass deploying Windows across many computers.

  ### 18. Faster Than Previous Windows OS, but RAM-Hungry Despite Great Animations

Furthermore, the initial setup of Windows 7 is very easy, which saves time and hassle in getting started with the operating system.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

I don't like that Windows 7 lacks features compared to Windows 11, which makes it feel outdated. Additionally, its performance can be slow, which is frustrating when trying to work efficiently.

**Reviewed by:** Nicoas C. | Unemployed, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

What I liked best about Windows 7 was its simplicity, stability, and performance. It had a clean, straightforward interface that was easy to navigate without feeling bloated. The OS was lightweight and responsive, especially on older hardware, and it rarely got in the way of what you were trying to do.

It also had great compatibility with software and games at the time, and it gave users more control over settings compared to newer versions. It struck a perfect balance between user-friendliness and power-user features, which made it a favorite for many.

Even though it's outdated now, it was a rock-solid OS in its prime.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

What I dislike about Windows 7 today is that it's no longer supported — no security updates, no new drivers, and no compatibility with modern apps or hardware. That makes it risky and inconvenient to use, especially if you're online or using newer tech.

Even before support ended, Windows 7 lacked many modern features we now take for granted in Windows 10 or 11, like built-in virtual desktops, better HDR support, improved security features, and native support for newer hardware like NVMe drives or TPM 2.0.

In short, while it was great in its time, it’s now outdated, insecure, and impractical for current-day use.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When it was current, Windows 7 solved a lot of the frustrations users had with Windows Vista, especially in terms of performance, stability, and compatibility. It offered a smooth, responsive experience without the heavy resource usage or constant security prompts that annoyed users in Vista.

It also provided a more polished and reliable environment for gaming, work, and everyday use. Driver support was strong at the time, and software ran smoothly. For older hardware, it was the ideal OS lightweight, efficient, and easy to maintain.

Back when I used it regularly, the benefit was clear: Windows 7 "just worked." It got out of the way and let me focus on what I was doing, whether that was gaming, editing, or general browsing — without crashes, bloated features, or unnecessary updates.

However, those benefits are mostly historical now. In today’s world, Windows 7 no longer solves modern problems. It lacks support for current technology and doesn't meet modern security standards.

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

Windows 7 also uses more RAM compared to Windows 10, which makes the latter better in this respect. In general, new games run faster on Windows 10, even though the difference seems rather minimal. When it comes to older games, Windows 7 might be a better choice thanks to better legacy software support.5

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

The main dislike about Windows 7 is that it is no longer officially supported by Microsoft, meaning it receives no security updates, making it highly vulnerable to malware and viruses, especially since its extended support ended in January 2020; this is a major concern for users who still rely on it on older machines

Windows 7 offered benefits like a user-friendly interface, excellent application compatibility, strong performance on a variety of hardware, improved boot times, better multi-core processor support, and a familiar design compared to previous Windows versions, although it is important to note that Microsoft no longer supports Windows 7, making it a security risk due to lack of updates.

  ### 35. Legacy OS

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Windows 7?**

Windows 7 is familiar and easy to use for many, as it was widely adopted upon release. With a clean user interface and fast operations, it was an impressive upgrade from it’s predecessors Vista and XP.

**What do you dislike about Windows 7?**

Windows 7 is now an outdated OS, meaning that it no longer receives updates and only has minimal support availability. On a closed system with consistent operations, this is not an issue, however on systems that are connected to the Internet or engaged in complex operations, the continued use of Windows 7 proves problematic. The risk of cybersecurity breaches and software system failure, push the need for OS upgrade from Windows 7.

**What problems is Windows 7 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windows 7 is good at what it does, which is provide a solid user experience in a fast and efficient way. However, there are now more up to date OS that surpass the capabilities of the now legacy Windows 7.
