I record technical interviews and transcribe them mainly so I can compare candidates fairly, instead of relying on impressions from a week ago. Being able to search across six interviews for how a candidate explained a specific concept is genuinely useful. It’s also helped me push back when a hiring manager’s recollection of an interview doesn’t line up with what was actually said. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Candidates often speak quickly and sometimes with accents, and the accuracy drops in those exact situations. I end up spot-checking the transcript more than I’d like. There’s also no redaction feature, so anonymising a transcript before sharing it with a hiring panel means manually removing names, which is slow and error-prone. And because there’s no consent management built in, that has to be handled as a separate process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
