Whereby’s browser-based approach means there’s essentially zero setup friction for calls—no app install needed for us or for external participants. That makes onboarding much faster, especially for one-off calls with partners. The UI is clean and unobtrusive, and the meeting room layout feels intuitive even for non-technical stakeholders who are joining from a shared link.
On the integration side, embedding rooms directly into our internal tools via the API was straightforward. We didn’t need a heavy SDK just to get a working embedded call view. Performance has also been consistent, even on calls with multiple participants sharing screens, with minimal lag on standard connections.
Pricing scales reasonably for our team size, and the ROI is clear given how much friction it removes versus app-based alternatives for external-facing meetings. Support has been quick and helpful when we’ve had integration questions. The AI features (like transcription) are a genuinely useful add-on rather than a gimmick, and they save us time by reducing how much we have to write up meeting summaries manually. The free and lower tiers cap meeting length and participant counts pretty aggressively, so for longer internal syncs we sometimes have to plan around the limit instead of the tool adapting to us. The recording and cloud storage options also feel more limited than with competitors; we’ve had to export recordings and manage them manually rather than relying on built-in storage. On top of that, custom branding and more advanced admin controls for the whole team are locked behind higher pricing tiers, which feels steep if you’re a smaller team but still need those controls.
