I like how VMware NSX simplifies network management while providing strong security for virtualized environments. I find network virtualization and micro-segmentation particularly valuable because they let me create flexible network configurations and control communication between workloads. Centralized management of network and security policies makes administration more consistent and reduces the need for manual changes across systems. I also appreciate the visibility into network traffic, which can help me troubleshoot connectivity issues and identify potential security risks. I value its flexibility and integration with VMware environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I find VMware NSX complex, especially for people new to network virtualization and software-defined networking. Setup and configuration require a good understanding of networking, virtualization, and security, and troubleshooting configuration issues can take extra time. I think the interface could be more intuitive, with clearer error messages and better visibility into network dependencies. Policy management could be simpler, with clearer dependencies, rule priorities, validation warnings, and an overview of how rules affect communication before I apply changes. I’d also like more beginner-friendly setup guides and troubleshooting examples, plus a centralized diagnostic dashboard with detailed errors and step-by-step recommendations.
