"Centralized Automation, but a Steep and Costly Learning Curve"
4/5
What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?

I like VCF’s centralized management and automation. Having compute, storage, networking, and security integrated into one platform makes infrastructure management much easier and simpler. It streamlines deployments, reduces repetitive manual tasks, and improves resource utilization. I also appreciate how well its different components work together. The deployment tools and documentation help simplify setup, and once VCF is configured, centralized management and automation make ongoing operations much easier. What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?

I find VMware Cloud Foundation somewhat complex, especially during initial setup and configuration. It takes careful planning across networking, storage, and compute, and the learning curve can be steep for new users. Licensing costs and hardware requirements can make it less accessible to small organizations, and troubleshooting and lifecycle upgrades can be very time-consuming. I’d like a simpler setup with guided configuration, a more intuitive dashboard and clearer navigation, better error messages and step-by-step troubleshooting, and more practical documentation with real-world examples and interactive tutorials. A learning environment or sandbox would also help beginners build confidence without affecting production systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
