"Comprehensive Management with Some Complexity"
4/5
What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?

I really appreciate VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) for providing a consistent way to run our infrastructure once the environment is set up. The fleet-level management and lifecycle management are huge advantages for me, especially when dealing with multiple clusters without turning every upgrade into a big project. I value having better visibility into health, capacity, and configuration without needing to gather information from different consoles. The VCF Operations and lifecycle management are really beneficial for managing multiple clusters, and the fleet upgrade feature—it makes tasks like patching vCenter and ESXi much less of a manual process. I also like the consistency across the environment, reducing the unique maintenance needs of individual clusters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?

Upgrades can be a bit finicky with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). We have to meticulously check DNS, certificates, IP space, service health, and more because even a small issue can derail the whole upgrade. When something does fail, the error messages aren't particularly helpful, often sending us on a quest through Broadcom KBs to decipher the problem. I'd really appreciate more useful pre-checks that clearly indicate what's wrong and how to fix it. A robust dry-run feature that checks the entire environment before an upgrade would greatly reduce the stress of the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
