It has a unique approach towards the four stage demand modelling. As compared to other software options for planning, VISUM does have optional feature for scripting. You can use VISUM for transportation planning and modelling even without scripting. It allows the testing of network with multiple scenarios, 3D visualization of the network and many more. Another driving force is it has a very good customer support. There are forums where the product managers and leading officials are available to respond for the queries posted by the users. Also, VISUM offers a demo version, and a student version for the overall introduction of the software, with limited network modelling options. **What do you dislike about VISUM?** Overall, VISUM is a very vast software and it takes time to get familiar with it. On the other hand, the costing of VISUM licensing is a bit expensive, as if the new professionals and consultants in the market cannot afford it. Though, it is a good thing that there are options to process the payment in monthly wages. **Recommendations to others considering VISUM:** There are multiple webinars available on the official company website of VISUM, which might help the user to get familiar with the software soon. Also, extraction of the software setup generates a user manual and many other documentation which is really fruitful while using the software. **What problems is VISUM solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have seen four stage modelling of transportation network done using VISUM, with accurate modal split assignments for various vehicle types of traffic. It also has road safety controlling featured modelling options. ### 2. Also, the pictorial and graphical representation gives an easy understanding of solutions identified in the model **What do you dislike about VISUM?** I find the data input process is quite tedious and time-consuming as compared to other competing strategic modeling tools in the market. **What problems is VISUM solving and how is that benefiting you?** VISUM is used for Travel demand modeling mostly for preparing Comprehensive Mobility Plans of the city and I find it more useful in analyzing the data and visual representation of the identified problems and solutions to mitigate it. ### 4. Undo command can be improved. Searching feature should be improved in pop-ups. For instance, it is not easy to find an "attribute" that you need among all.
