I admire VS Code's November 2025 release (v1.107), featuring multi-agent orchestration that integrates GitHub Copilot with custom agents via Agent HQ for efficient, parallelized workflows across environments. Equally impressive is the JavaScript/TypeScript Modernizer extension, which leverages AI to analyze dependencies, automate upgrades, and adapt code for breaking changes through interactive Copilot Chat—streamlining modernization with confidence. These updates exemplify VS Code's innovative edge in empowering developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One area that could be refined is how VS Code handles context switching. When juggling multiple projects or workspaces, the editor doesn’t always make it seamless to move between them — tabs, terminals, and extensions can feel scattered. A more unified dashboard or project overview could help developers keep track of everything without losing focus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like VS Code because it's very light and fast also very user friendly. Vs code has a lot of extension that makes coding easy and clean code. The interface is so clean and friendly you will loved it. It also supports git so that you can update your code at same time. And it feels smooth even with large files. The only thing i dislike about VS Code is there settings, it feels so confusing for new users and it also need some extra plugins for basic features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I appreciate using Visual Studio Code because it is simple, fast, and easy to navigate. The editor supports writing all kinds of code, lets you add helpful extensions, and enables you to run commands or handle Git operations right inside the program. It also helps you quickly identify and fix mistakes, and you can personalize the theme or layout to match your style. Since it runs on any computer, it truly simplifies the coding workflow and makes programming a more enjoyable experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a beginner, I found that setting up Visual Studio Code can be somewhat challenging due to the sheer number of available options and extensions. It often takes a while to configure everything to your liking. Additionally, installing too many extensions can cause the program to start up more slowly, which can be frustrating when you're eager to begin working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Visual Studio Code is the best development environment on the market. It’s free, open source, and supports multiple programming languages, which is essential for my work. Its code completion feature is excellent, and the extension ecosystem is impressive—developers can create their own extensions, and there’s a rich marketplace for downloads. I especially enjoy using Visual Studio Code for C and C++ development because finding a good C++ editor is not easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One drawback of Visual Studio Code is the absence of built-in visual design tools for desktop or mobile application development. In contrast, Visual Studio provides integrated UI designers and drag-and-drop components for creating rich interfaces. As a result, building desktop Windows applications in VS Code can be challenging and requires more manual effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Visual Studio Code is fast, lightweight, and extremely customizable. I love how it supports almost every programming language through extensions and integrates smoothly with Git. The IntelliSense, built-in terminal, and debugging tools make development simple and efficient. It’s perfect for web, mobile, and cross-platform projects, and it runs flawlessly on any operating system. Overall, it’s the most flexible code editor I’ve ever used. Although VS Code is excellent, managing too many extensions can sometimes slow it down or cause compatibility issues. It also lacks some advanced features available in full IDEs like Visual Studio, which can be limiting for large enterprise projects. Still, for most development needs, these are minor drawbacks compared to its speed and versatility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The extension ecosystem is a big win for me. I can turn it into whatever I need—Python, SQL, PySpark, Docker, Git, or cloud work—without switching IDEs. It adapts to the way I work rather than forcing a workflow on me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This text editor is not as easy to use as some others. At times, the AI and auto-generate features do not work very well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Visual studio is the IDE that I use for all my coding requirements.I code mostly in python and all python extensions can be downloaded and installed to get the code functoning.Github copilot chat integration is one of the best features in VS code which helps a lot in debugging errors, getting code outputs by just giving a prompt . Visual studio keeps getting frequent updates where the popup to update appears frequently multiple times in a week. The update process should be managed more effectively and with less frequency Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I appreciate most about VS Code is its simplicity and ease of use. Unlike some other IDEs that can feel heavy, VS Code remains lightweight while still offering all the features I need. I primarily use it for C++ and Python development, and the available extensions, such as auto-complete and error highlighting, are especially helpful. The interface is also clean and minimal, which helps me stay focused and avoid distractions while coding.
I use it almost every day for C++ and Python assignments, freelancing and it integrates easily with GitHub and other tools I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, there isn’t much I dislike about it, though I did find the setup process a bit challenging as a beginner. Getting the correct extensions installed and configuring all the settings took some time, and I ended up watching a few tutorials before everything was fully ready. Aside from that, it works very well, but I do think the initial setup could be made easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Vs code is one of the best code editors, it is really easy to use for development needs and supports all of the languages making it easy to work on large projects. The plugins are amazing and makes work much easier, the live server feature makes testing and designing websites fun, integrates well with latest AI tools and makes it great for deployments as well.
