User Interface is the best. I love to develop Test automation and test cases with visual studio code. It is the best tool to identify the error in the code. There are so many debugging feature which improve your efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It takes some time to learn how to use this tool, as it offers a wide range of features and supports many programming languages. For example, if you need to manage different Python environments—such as setting up Python 3.10 for one project and Python 3.8 for another because certain libraries only support specific versions—you will need to learn how to handle multiple environments effectively. What I appreciate most about Visual Studio Code is its impressive balance of being lightweight while still offering robust capabilities. It launches swiftly, operates smoothly even on standard hardware, and provides advanced features such as IntelliSense, debugging tools, Git integration, and access to a vast extension ecosystem. The user interface is both clean and highly customizable, which really helps me maintain focus during long coding sessions. The extensions marketplace is another major advantage, allowing me to tailor VS Code into the ideal IDE for any language or framework I work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Visual Studio Code is an exceptionally versatile and lightweight code editor that balances performance with powerful features. Its real strength lies in its extensibility—developers can install a wide range of extensions to support virtually any language, framework, or workflow. Features like IntelliSense, debugging tools, Git integration, and an integrated terminal make development faster and more efficient. Cross-platform support ensures a consistent experience across Windows, macOS, and Linux, making it ideal for teams with diverse setups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While VS Code is incredibly powerful, the abundance of extensions can sometimes slow performance, particularly with very large projects. Additionally, managing and configuring multiple extensions for optimal workflow can be overwhelming for new users. Though lightweight compared to full IDEs, resource usage can grow depending on the plugins installed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best thing about Visual Studio Code is that it is very easy to use ,means the interface seems like everthing is easy to understand and i can easliy implement my code on it and the theme that they provide is amazing ,dark theme ,light theme ,i keep changing it according to my mood. And the number of extension that they provide is awesome ,it makes coding very easy ,i use VS Code frequently and it solves the problem of integration means now i dont have to use different environment for different language and lastly talking about the customer support ,it is open and free to use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
sometimes it started to work slowly like when i installed alot of extension then it started to work slowly , and yes some features feels like dependent on extension like blackbox AI and lastly what i feel is when new update come the system got crashed sometimes ,and then again i have to do the whole process repeatedly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The interface is very user friendly. You will get enough number of extensions for your ease of coding experience. The best advantage is thar you can compile any code of any programming language you just need to install the dependencies. You can also change the theme of the Visual Studio according to your liking. This is one of the best product or tool for development in market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is no such as con's but there are a few things that can be impproved for example when sometimes you install some dependencies you set path in your PC but it didn't get retrieveed in VS code and the second thing that can be improved is when you get install update of app it get's crashed sometime . if these issues get solved it will be a Outstanding Product in its category. What I like most about VS Code is how easy and comfortable it is to work with every day. It’s fast, doesn’t feel heavy, and still gives you all the powerful features you need. The extensions make it really flexible, so you can set it up exactly the way you like for different projects. Things like IntelliSense, Git integration, and debugging just work smoothly and save a lot of time. Overall, it feels reliable and gets out of the way so you can focus on coding. While VS Code is great overall, it can sometimes feel overwhelming because of the sheer number of extensions and settings. Finding the right extensions or configuring them properly takes time. Occasionally, performance can slow down when many extensions are installed, and some features rely heavily on plugins rather than working out of the box. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I admire VS Code's November 2025 release (v1.107), featuring multi-agent orchestration that integrates GitHub Copilot with custom agents via Agent HQ for efficient, parallelized workflows across environments. Equally impressive is the JavaScript/TypeScript Modernizer extension, which leverages AI to analyze dependencies, automate upgrades, and adapt code for breaking changes through interactive Copilot Chat—streamlining modernization with confidence. These updates exemplify VS Code's innovative edge in empowering developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One area that could be refined is how VS Code handles context switching. When juggling multiple projects or workspaces, the editor doesn’t always make it seamless to move between them — tabs, terminals, and extensions can feel scattered. A more unified dashboard or project overview could help developers keep track of everything without losing focus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like VS Code because it's very light and fast also very user friendly. Vs code has a lot of extension that makes coding easy and clean code. The interface is so clean and friendly you will loved it. It also supports git so that you can update your code at same time. And it feels smooth even with large files. The only thing i dislike about VS Code is there settings, it feels so confusing for new users and it also need some extra plugins for basic features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I appreciate using Visual Studio Code because it is simple, fast, and easy to navigate. The editor supports writing all kinds of code, lets you add helpful extensions, and enables you to run commands or handle Git operations right inside the program. It also helps you quickly identify and fix mistakes, and you can personalize the theme or layout to match your style. Since it runs on any computer, it truly simplifies the coding workflow and makes programming a more enjoyable experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a beginner, I found that setting up Visual Studio Code can be somewhat challenging due to the sheer number of available options and extensions. It often takes a while to configure everything to your liking. Additionally, installing too many extensions can cause the program to start up more slowly, which can be frustrating when you're eager to begin working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Visual Studio Code is the best development environment on the market. It’s free, open source, and supports multiple programming languages, which is essential for my work. Its code completion feature is excellent, and the extension ecosystem is impressive—developers can create their own extensions, and there’s a rich marketplace for downloads. I especially enjoy using Visual Studio Code for C and C++ development because finding a good C++ editor is not easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One drawback of Visual Studio Code is the absence of built-in visual design tools for desktop or mobile application development. In contrast, Visual Studio provides integrated UI designers and drag-and-drop components for creating rich interfaces. As a result, building desktop Windows applications in VS Code can be challenging and requires more manual effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
