"Best IDE for Beginners"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Features of auto-complete in coding is the most favorite feature of mine, because of that you can write fast and efficient code easily. Another best things is it supports many languages, you just have to install extension for particular language, that's it. It provides data directory feature, like we can manage our folder inside Visual Studio Code itself. Best thing is it is lightweight. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The thing I don't like is some times it takes time for opening because of some previously loaded files which will open again whenever you start the Visual Studio Code again. If we want to compile some languages code then we must have to install that compiler on our local system then we can use it in Visual Studio Code's terminal. "The Best Free Code Editor Available"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I appreciate using Visual Studio Code because it is simple, fast, and easy to navigate. The editor supports writing all kinds of code, lets you add helpful extensions, and enables you to run commands or handle Git operations right inside the program. It also helps you quickly identify and fix mistakes, and you can personalize the theme or layout to match your style. Since it runs on any computer, it truly simplifies the coding workflow and makes programming a more enjoyable experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

As a beginner, I found that setting up Visual Studio Code can be somewhat challenging due to the sheer number of available options and extensions. It often takes a while to configure everything to your liking. Additionally, installing too many extensions can cause the program to start up more slowly, which can be frustrating when you're eager to begin working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Ultimate Free IDE for Multi-Language Development"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is the best development environment on the market. It’s free, open source, and supports multiple programming languages, which is essential for my work. Its code completion feature is excellent, and the extension ecosystem is impressive—developers can create their own extensions, and there’s a rich marketplace for downloads. I especially enjoy using Visual Studio Code for C and C++ development because finding a good C++ editor is not easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

One drawback of Visual Studio Code is the absence of built-in visual design tools for desktop or mobile application development. In contrast, Visual Studio provides integrated UI designers and drag-and-drop components for creating rich interfaces. As a result, building desktop Windows applications in VS Code can be challenging and requires more manual effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lightweight, Fast, and Perfect for Any Developer"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is fast, lightweight, and extremely customizable. I love how it supports almost every programming language through extensions and integrates smoothly with Git. The IntelliSense, built-in terminal, and debugging tools make development simple and efficient. It’s perfect for web, mobile, and cross-platform projects, and it runs flawlessly on any operating system. Overall, it’s the most flexible code editor I’ve ever used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Although VS Code is excellent, managing too many extensions can sometimes slow it down or cause compatibility issues. It also lacks some advanced features available in full IDEs like Visual Studio, which can be limiting for large enterprise projects. Still, for most development needs, these are minor drawbacks compared to its speed and versatility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"VS Code: Essential Python IDE with Outstanding Copilot Integration"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual studio is the IDE that I use for all my coding requirements.I code mostly in python and all python extensions can be downloaded and installed to get the code functoning.Github copilot chat integration is one of the best features in VS code which helps a lot in debugging errors, getting code outputs by just giving a prompt . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Visual studio keeps getting frequent updates where the popup to update appears frequently multiple times in a week. The update process should be managed more effectively and with less frequency Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Coding Companion"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

What I appreciate most about VS Code is its simplicity and ease of use. Unlike some other IDEs that can feel heavy, VS Code remains lightweight while still offering all the features I need. I primarily use it for C++ and Python development, and the available extensions, such as auto-complete and error highlighting, are especially helpful. The interface is also clean and minimal, which helps me stay focused and avoid distractions while coding.

I use it almost every day for C++ and Python assignments, freelancing and it integrates easily with GitHub and other tools I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Honestly, there isn’t much I dislike about it, though I did find the setup process a bit challenging as a beginner. Getting the correct extensions installed and configuring all the settings took some time, and I ended up watching a few tutorials before everything was fully ready. Aside from that, it works very well, but I do think the initial setup could be made easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Versatile Editor with Powerful Extensions"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I use Visual Studio Code for creating my university projects, coding, and learning new tech stacks. I really like its variety of extensions, which make it unnecessary to switch code editors since it can handle many programming languages. One of the features I enjoy is the ability to directly push code to GitHub and manage branches all in one place. Switching to Visual Studio Code offered better extension support and a more flexible workflow compared to other editors. The initial setup was pretty easy, with installing extensions, configuring settings, and connecting Git feeling straightforward. I always recommend Visual Studio Code to my friends and even within my university. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Large projects sometimes slow it down, extensions can conflict or feel heavy, and search or indexing occasionally lags. Built-in Git tools are good but not always intuitive. Debugging setups for some languages also need extra effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lightweight, Customizable, and Efficient Coding Hub"
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I love how Visual Studio Code is lightweight and loads quickly, making it my go-to workspace for any coding task. The IntelliSense suggestions are super accurate, especially for TypeScript, which makes writing code much faster. The built-in terminal is a big win because I don't have to switch between windows while working. The extension ecosystem is fantastic, with tools for almost anything I need, like ESLint, Prettier, Docker tools, or database helpers, perfectly fitting my requirements. I appreciate that it's both lightweight and powerful, which is a rare combination for an editor. Setting it up was smooth, and syncing settings across machines adds convenience. It also helps me switch between different projects and tech stacks easily, allowing me to focus more on building stuff rather than fixing small mistakes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Sometimes Visual Studio Code feels a bit heavy when I have too many extensions running, and the performance dips on larger projects. The search can also slow down when the workspace gets big. Debugger setups - especially for mixed tech stacks - can get a little confusing, and I still end up tweaking config files more than I’d like. And while the marketplace is great, some extensions clash or break after updates, so it’d be nice if there were better compatibility checks. Overall nothing major, but these little things do add up.
