"A Fast, Reliable, and User-Friendly Coding Experience"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code provides a strong coding experience thanks to its clean, intuitive, and user-friendly interface. It feels lightweight, starts up quickly, and offers solid support for multiple languages. The extension marketplace is also broad, which makes it easy to tailor the editor to different projects and workflows.

What I appreciate most is having the built-in terminal, IntelliSense, debugging tools, and Git integration all in one place. These features save time and cut down on the need to jump between multiple applications for everyday development tasks.

In terms of performance, it continues to run well even with larger projects. The free-of-charge pricing model adds to its overall value, making it a practical choice for beginners, students, and professionals alike.

On top of that, the documentation and tutorials are useful, and the developer community is active, so getting started and troubleshooting are usually straightforward. Overall, Visual Studio Code is a reliable, versatile, and efficient code editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

While the software offers many benefits, there are still a few areas where Visual Studio Code could improve. It can slow down when working with large projects or when a lot of extensions are installed. On top of that, some extensions can conflict with one another, which often leads to extra configuration and time spent tweaking settings.

The initial setup can also feel difficult for new users, particularly when configuring extensions, debuggers, and the overall development environment. The update process may occasionally interrupt the workflow as well, which can be frustrating when you’re in the middle of a task.

That said, the interface is generally convenient and pleasant to use. However, once you have too many extensions, it can become harder to manage them and keep everything organized. Overall, better default configuration, stronger performance, and a simpler onboarding or getting-started experience would make Visual Studio Code even better.
