I find Visual Studio Code incredibly versatile for coding in multiple languages without needing to switch between different IDEs. It supports nearly all major languages, including Python, HTML, JavaScript, and more, which makes it easy to keep everything in one place. The wide range of extensions makes it even more adaptable, letting me tailor it to different workflows and use cases depending on what I’m working on. I also appreciate how straightforward it was to set up, even for more specific needs like Flutter applications. I’ve been using Visual Studio Code for over six years for web development, app development, backend work, and various other projects, and it has consistently fit into my day-to-day work. Overall, the extensions and themes really elevate the experience and make it feel like an all-in-one place for almost everything I write. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I’ve found the GitHub Copilot integration in Visual Studio Code to be somewhat lacking. Overall, it hasn’t been the best experience for me, and there are times when it doesn’t provide the level of support I need. For instance, when I’m working on an Android app or building a prototype, the assistance feels less robust than what I get in Android Studio. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
