"Visio Makes Complex Workflow Diagrams Fast and Easy to Share"

What do you like best about Visio?

I mostly use it when I need to explain something visually instead of writing a long document. For QA work, I’ve created workflow diagrams, application flows, automation architecture diagrams, API flows, and process diagrams. It’s much easier to discuss these with developers or other team members when everything is laid out clearly in a diagram.

I also like that I don’t have to spend much time making the diagrams look good. I can just drag in the shapes, connect them, add labels, and it’s ready to share. Even when the flow changes later, updating the diagram is usually quick and straightforward. Overall, it saves me a lot of time compared to drawing everything manually. What do you dislike about Visio?

Nothing major, really. The only thing I’ve noticed is that when I’m building a very detailed diagram, it can take a bit of time to find the right shapes or connectors. There are so many options that it can feel a little overwhelming at first.

Also, when I only need a very simple flowchart, opening a full Visio diagram can feel like overkill. That said, once I’m working on larger workflows or technical documentation, it makes sense and feels more justified. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Visio solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps me explain technical workflows much more clearly. Instead of writing pages of documentation, I can create a flow diagram that shows how an application works, how an API flows, or how an automation framework is structured. Most people understand a diagram much faster than a long document.

It’s also useful during discussions with developers, architects, and other QA engineers, because everyone can look at the same flow and point out changes or improvements in real time.
