It is its own class. **What do you dislike about VidyoConnect?** IT has Lagged as compared to Others, If it gets disconnected, one has to enter credential again. A bit faster communication could be better and a stable connection even in low bandwidth. **Recommendations to others considering VidyoConnect:** I recommend Vidyo to all who are looking for light-weight ad robust video meeting software. **What problems is VidyoConnect solving and how is that benefiting you?** Online Meetings, Lectures, Webinars, Workshops. Vidyo takes care of all and benfits us financially and makes us more productive thereby increasinging business performance. ### 2. Since that time competitors have carried the torch and Vidyo is no longer relevant. **What do you dislike about VidyoConnect?** They doubled down on their business model when Zoom and other cloud vendors were taking their lunch. Instead of competing they raised their prices and pushed their hardware solutions that nobody wanted. **Recommendations to others considering VidyoConnect:** Use Zoom **What problems is VidyoConnect solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have completely given up on Vidyo and don't plan on looking back. ### 3. I do like having the self view as an option. The client is very low usage on compute resources so that's a plus for any computer. It can integrate and sync with AD so end users won't have to struggle with remembering another account. **What do you dislike about VidyoConnect?** The units themselves. may be robust, but are nothing more than your average computer. Even the NUC size units are no spectacle. Understanding how Vidyo works with "rooms" takes some getting used to. Your conference room has a "room". You, yourself, has a "room". Knowing that you enter a conference room's "room", you also need to have others join that particular room. Sending Vidyo invites via Outlook, will send your guests to YOUR room, not the conference room. **Recommendations to others considering VidyoConnect:** Understand how it works first before implementing it in the environment. Do test calls. Test the local content sharing on both wired and WiFI. I highly suggest to order an Inogeni Unit to pair with your Vidyo Units. Try to run every possible scenario that an End User would use Vidyo. If you fine tune it, Vidyo will work flawlessly. End Users need to stop comparing Vidyo to Web based software such as GoTo Meeting or Webex. **What problems is VidyoConnect solving and how is that benefiting you?** Right now just the usual web conferencing aspects. We use it for recording training sessions at the moment. It helps with presenting.local content. It has some level of moderating meetings. ### 4. I like setting up conference rooms that users can easily use and keep secure with just a code. I like having the ability as an administrator I could lock rooms and keep out unwanted guest. **What do you dislike about VidyoConnect?** That once you create a room, it’s yours and you can just give it away once you leave your organization/company. At least for the US Army. **Recommendations to others considering VidyoConnect:** Conference room creators should be able to give ownership to someone else if this is not currently being done. **What problems is VidyoConnect solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having the ability to share any document no matter what format and all are able to see regardless if they have a camera or not. I realized that this would be a great tool to use especially now with the outbreak of COVID-19. It’s easy and simple for user to navigate and learn to use. ### 5. It just annoys me. Helps me determine that people are not technical in nature. **What do you dislike about VidyoConnect?** This program is only good for looking at each other. Therefore, it is very bad at sharing screens, files, productive work by technical people. For people in suits with no technical function that want to look at each other, it does that. Do not confuse a video app with a work app. If you want to get work done, if you are smart, if you have a technical need, get something else. **Recommendations to others considering VidyoConnect:** If you want to get WORK done, use something else. If you like looking at each other while spending your company's money, this is it. **What problems is VidyoConnect solving and how is that benefiting you?** Not being able to see each others faces. This problem is also very well solved by the functional products. ### 7. Efficient way to do multi-users call with an always working share screen feature. ### 8. Customer service is great as well **What do you dislike about VidyoConnect?** the software doesn’t seem like it’s been updated recently and calls sometimes get dropped **What problems is VidyoConnect solving and how is that benefiting you?** Solves the problem of conference calls, you can now meet face to face and share your screen ### 9. Makes video conferencing easier.. but it's not perfect! **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2018 **What do you like best about VidyoConnect?** It's very easy to setup a "room" and have people join it, even if they don't have vidyo installed (through a link). The UI of the client it's very easy and straightforward: it doesn't really take much effort to jump in a video conference. Moreover, having 10+ people in a "room" gets easily handled: the video feed of the person who is speaking gets the biggest chunk of the window, while the remaining users are represented as small video thumbnails. **What do you dislike about VidyoConnect?** Vidyo avidly eats bandwidth and CPU: if either of them is lacking, the whole conferencing will become a painful experience. Vidyo won't just well behave, on Windows, in low-bandwidth conditions: the client constantly crashes or won't let you join a room. For comparison, on the same low-bandwidth channels, Skype works just fine. Moreover, one vital feature that was there in earlier version is now missing: sharing just one application instead of the whole screen. **Recommendations to others considering VidyoConnect:** Make sure Vidyo users have enough bandwidth and a reasonable CPU to handle the video conferencing. If you're using this software to interview people, make sure you have a fallback option in case the other party doesn't have enough bandwidth. **What problems is VidyoConnect solving and how is that benefiting you?** Vidyo, as any video conferencing software, bridges people together in an easy way. Skipping the low-bandwidth scenario problems, it's a simple enough tool that let's you just concentrate on the business, without having to care too much on the "how can we have a video conference that is not limited to 4 people?". ### 10. Good tool, some bumps in the road. **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2018 **What do you like best about VidyoConnect?** Vidyo delivers a very high fidelity video conferencing experience - I very rarely have problems with video quality or freezing and when I do they're usually connection-related. **What do you dislike about VidyoConnect?** Many of the features in Vidyo are not obvious - to the point that in my interview when I had problems with it, my colleagues joked that if Vidyo worked perfectly for me, I wouldn't be a good culture fit here. **What problems is VidyoConnect solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have 10 offices globally and 40% remote employees, plus volunteer contributors, so everyone needs to be able to meet.
