"Elite All-Flash Performance with Limitless Scalability for AI Workloads"

5/5

What do you like best about Vast Data?

VAST Data breaks decades-old IT compromises by offering the elite performance of all-flash storage combined with the limitless scalability and economics of an archive, making it an ideal operating system for heavy AI and deep learning workloads. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vast Data?

Because the compute nodes rely entirely on the network to access the shared storage drives, users have noted that occasional network connection issues can immediately lead to unpredictable performance or noticeable lag during data usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Vast Data solving and how is that benefiting you?

The Problem: In traditional AI systems, data must be copied from slow storage to fast storage before a GPU can process it. If the GPU finishes its current batch and has to wait for more data to arrive from slow storage, you have "GPU starvation." When you are paying thousands of dollars per hour for GPU compute, having them sit idle waiting for data is a massive waste of money. The VAST Solution: VAST provides an all-flash environment where all data is immediately accessible at high speeds. The Benefit: AI models can train much faster because the GPUs never have to wait for data. The entire pipeline, from initial data ingest to training to inferencing, happens on one platform without moving data between tiers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
