For example, the Code of Conduct includes unnecessary points like not bringing firearms into the office, which is not relevant to Swedish laws. There are also some policy templates that conflict with each other, and it's hard to find where and when. The best part is that we don't need to go back and forth with auditors using giant spreadsheets anymore. Everything is in one place. Uploading evidence is simple and saves us a lot of time during audits. Performance has been solid for us. Our workload isn't huge so we haven't really pushed it to the limits, but we have no complaints there. Support and onboarding were great too, the app is pretty intuitive so we didn't need much hand-holding to get started. On pricing, it's a bit on the higher side, especially if you're a startup going through your first audit. That said, the ROI is definitely there once you see how much time and effort it saves you. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** Some user flows are hidden deep inside specific pages and not easy to find from the main menu. I get that they want to keep the menu clean, but it takes too many clicks to go from a failing test all the way to, say, removing a computer from an employee that left the company. And if you go directly to the computers page, it's not obvious that there's an unassigned computer sitting there. Beyond checking the box, the Vanta platform guided us seamlessly through the compliance process and fundamentally helped our organization change the way we operate for the better. Whenever confusion or questions came up, our support rep or the customer service team was also very prompt with responding and assisting. They also connected us with potential audit firms and organizations we needed to complete our certifications. We use this platform almost every day even when we're not under audit, and almost any size of organization could benefit from this platform. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** Even though Vanta makes compliance so much cheaper than traditional means, it's still a fairly expensive platform, especially for small businesses. They're plans are now more integrated, but the add-ons can add up in cost as well. They'd addressed this with new "packages" to bundle these add-ons in. I do wish some of these add-ons weren't so expensive for smaller startups, which desperately need to the most automation but have the smallest budgets. They continue to add new integrations every month, which makes it work very seamlessly, but still missing a few we'd like. **What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?** Vanta is making it easy for organizations to comply with a multitude of security and compliance frameworks in a self-serve manner. We don't have dedicated compliance people to work on this full-time, so the ability for our team to be able to have access to the knowledge and requirements without needing a team of people is a huge lift. It also makes the audit process extremely easier and MUCH cheaper beacuse the auditors can rely on all of the automated tests and checks for evidence for their audit reports. ### 18. Internal audits are not enough, you need to assess the company's security controls on real time, and Vanta is great at doing it. It also includes vendor management, risk management, access management, policies management and so on. So you can have your full GRC program centralized in only one place, and everything is connected, which makes it easier to find gaps. The UI is nice but sometimes they add to many things and you may be kinda lost. It has several integrations and also a developer console where you can set up your own APIs. Performance has been great for now, only a few outages. Pricing is ok for the options in the market. Onboarding is smooth. Support: they are really responsive, have a bot but also a support team. And we also have an AM. AI is embedded in the tool and offers different capabilities, we use it a lot for vendor management and to ask generic questionsa bout the frameworks or sec program. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** Sometimes they add new things that are not custom and you just need to adapt. They also change the workflows so you need to be constantly adapting to their features and functionality. Vanta saves a lot of time and resources, with ready to go materials and continual reminders, ensuring we're on top of our regulatory requirements. It effectively communicates to third parties that we take compliance seriously. The user guides are generally really useful, and the responsiveness has always been great. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** There have been a few times where I've tried to work out how to edit employee groups or pull together some information that Vanta stores into an external-facing document. The platform streamlined the entire compliance process and made it much less daunting. Their automated security monitoring and continuous compliance tracking saved us countless hours. The implementation was smooth, and their team provided excellent support throughout. Most importantly, achieving SOC 2 with Vanta's help has opened doors to more enterprise clients, directly impacting our business growth. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** While Vanta has been great overall, the pricing can be on the higher side for smaller startups. Initially, there was a bit of a learning curve to understand all the features and how to maximize the platform's capabilities. Some integrations could be smoother, requiring occasional manual intervention. However, these are minor issues compared to the overall value Vanta provides. **What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?** Vanta solved our SOC 2 compliance challenge, which was a major barrier to landing enterprise clients. Before Vanta, the compliance process seemed overwhelming and we didn't know where to start. Vanta automated security monitoring, streamlined evidence collection, and guided us through each step of the certification process. This allowed us to achieve SOC 2 certification much faster than we anticipated. As a result, we've been able to close deals with enterprise clients who require SOC 2 compliance, directly driving revenue growth for our business. ### 48. Instead of point-in-time evidence collection, the automated tests keep running and flag drift, which is what makes the ISO 27001 and SOC 2 evidence stay current between audits. That's the core value versus a spreadsheet-and-screenshots approach. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** Noisy native tests. False positives and tests that flag on trivial drift generate alert fatigue. You already hit this. It's why you replaced the native PR approval test with a custom check (CC-CHG-1). Rigid native connectors. When a native integration doesn't model your data the way you need, you're forced into custom connector work (your LangSmith sync) or manual document uploads. The abstraction leaks fast for anything non-standard. Manual evidence lifecycle. Documents expire and need re-upload on a schedule, which is why processes like the CC-MON-6 monthly renewal exist. It's recurring toil the platform pushes onto you rather than automating end to end. Framework mapping gaps. Newer or less common frameworks (ISO 42001) have thinner native support than SOC 2 / ISO 27001, so you end up doing more manual control-to-clause mapping and custom evidence plumbing. Cost and lock-in. Pricing scales with frameworks and headcount, and once your evidence and control mappings live in Vanta, migrating out is painful. **What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?** N/A ### 49. I really like the audit tracker where we can communicate with our audit team back and forth. I also like the tests tab where we can see how we're doing and filter it based on different compliances like SOC 2 or HIPAA. I like that everything is combined into one space. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** Sometimes when I'm trying to remediate outstanding tests on Vanta, I think there's an annoying workaround with how to actually resolve them. On the page itself, there's a button for deactivate. But, otherwise, I have to click the three dots and go to a different window where I can actually try to address the problem itself. I wish that it could be more cohesive in one space so I wouldn't have to switch back and forth between windows. I also wish there was a different way of assigning tasks to different groups. I found it quite annoying that it was restrictive - when you create a group, they can only follow that specific list of tasks, so if you wanted any of the tasks members to have a slightly different approach, then you had to create a new group. It was just not very intuitive with not being able to have overlapping groups or overlapping tasks where people can be linked to different task groups and have different tasks shared amongst them. I also feel like for the audit, there was a little bit of an annoyance in terms of where the information was stored. Like, you had to go to a separate audit view, and it was a little bit unclear where you should be submitting things as complete or not. There are some definite areas for improvement. **What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Vanta to manage policy access, track onboarding and offboarding, and oversee our computers. It gives me a cohesive overview of my status and tasks, making compliance with standards like SOC 2 easier. ### 50. The platform's design makes things straightforward, not only for us as admins but also for users who need to do their training or compliance activities. The wide variety of integrations allows us to automate many tasks, particularly for audits. It helps users navigate easily, and the initial setup was smooth with a short learning curve. **What do you dislike about Vanta?** Honestly speaking, maybe the risk assessment module could be a bit more contextual. Right now, Vanta provides a risk library, but if it could design more targeted risk scenarios by learning more about the organization, that would be much better. Also, I think the pricing is a little higher, otherwise, I would have scored 10. **What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Vanta for compliance like HIPAA and GDPR. It automates a lot of tasks, preventing them from falling through during audits.
