The recent addition of the Vanta AI feature has been very helpful lately

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

There’s a lack of proper integration for monitoring tests. For example, the current monitoring tests are all tied to infrastructure providers like AWS and GCP. However, even though there is a Datadog integration, there’s no way to satisfy these tests through Datadog.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem Vanta solves for me is during audits. The Audits tab in Vanta is very helpful for submitting evidence to auditors, and it also lets them send requests there.

It can be hard to navigate for someone new to cybersecurity and compliance. More explainers about what things are/mean or why they matter could help.

Vanta makes sure we don't forget what we're supposed to do for SOC2 compliance and integrates well with other apps.

The organizational plan for obtaining our SOC2. The clear organized pathway was needed for our growing company! The website was very easy to use and integrate in our system.

There were lots of notifications from Vanta but it was difficult to discern what had changed within the Vanta website.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

Vanta guided us through our SOC2 and ISO27001 certification and made the process easy. It also continuously monitors our compliance through integrations. We had our ISO audits completed within a month of signing up. There's no way we could have done it that quickly without Vanta. Also, customer support has been 10/10.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

It's expensive, but it does mean that audits cost much less because it cuts down the length of time for the audit process. So it's overall cheaper than doing it any other way.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vanta automates tests for security compliance so we know if real time if there are issues.
Vanta also let's us know exactly what we need in order to pass security certifications.

I really enjoy using Vanta because it makes reviewing client security questionnaires so much easier. The AI provides suggested answers based on previously completed questionnaires, which is not only faster and more efficient, but also makes it much easier for new team members to get involved in the process.

Another feature I value a lot is the ability to assign tasks, approve, and comment directly within Vanta. This helps keep everything in one place and avoids the risk of information getting lost. Overall, it has streamlined our workflow and improved collaboration across the team.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I really enjoy using Vanta because it makes reviewing client security questionnaires so much easier. That said, sometimes I feel that Vanta is not very intuitive, perhaps because I don’t use it regularly, only when a task is assigned to me. Since I haven’t explored it deeply yet, I find myself a bit lost when trying to access other functionalities, such as the policies section, which I believe also adds great value to the platform.

Vanta is helping me a lot with client security questionnaires, which used to be a time-consuming process in my former company. The AI provides suggested answers based on previously completed questionnaires, making the process much faster and more efficient. As a new member of the team, this has been especially helpful, since it not only speeds things up but also makes it easier for me to get involved and contribute right away.

I really like how easy it is to use and how simple it is to navigate the platform. I also appreciate the number of integrations it offers, which makes the tool feel seamless overall.

At the time of writing this post, it isn’t feasible to assign roles with different views on the platform. As a result, users are forced to see all the tabs. However, I believe this is already on the roadmap.

Vanta shifts the compliance from reactive and audit driven to continuous, automated, and operationally embedded. This reduces the work significantly and increases accuracy of evidence and ofcourse shorten the audit time.

I like Vanta's mascot. The integrations with 3rd parties work most of the time, making it easier to collaborate across platforms. I appreciate how Vanta's tests make it easier to see what is lacking and help with audit preparation.

3rd party automated tests sometimes don't work as expected. The Vanta AI provides inaccurate/imprecise info.

What I particularly like about Vanta are the ready-made integrations that are very easy to use with minimal effort. The onboarding is also good and offers a lot of support. Overall, I find the entire integration very successful and good.

There could naturally be more integrations, but this is constantly being expanded.

Vanta solves our problem of manual compliance checks through automation and integration, saving us time by automatically checking accounts, laptops, and password managers. The ready-made integrations are easy to use with little effort, facilitate onboarding, and allow for more frequent testing.

I really like how Vanta keeps track of the thousands of tasks that need to be completed in order to stay compliant with various standards. I really like how it integrates with lots of our software too (Google, MDM, etc)  in order to pull in information automatically for us.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I dislike that Vanta when trying to add screenshots to multiple tasks, it only added the first screenshot and did not let me know that it did not add the second screenshot. I figured that out later myself.

I appreciate Vanta's clearly dedicated modules for every section, making it easy for even first-time users to set up and get accustomed to its functionalities. I find Vanta's interface user-friendly, allowing permissions to be easily extended to necessary users. The end-to-end modules, like Vanta Access and Vanta Managed Vendors, are particularly helpful for maintaining compliance and providing a centralized GRC tool for audits. My work and my clients' compliance efforts are well supported, and I find the system remarkably easy to use daily. Vanta's UI and UX are intuitive, facilitating smooth onboarding for novice users who can quickly adapt and start conducting business as usual. The ease of use and comprehensive tool set make Vanta appealing for repurchase. On the occasions where I encountered integration issues, such as with Okta or GitHub, the problems were resolved through straightforward troubleshooting, emphasizing Vanta's overall ease and efficiency.

I find that Vanta integration can sometimes be problematic when trying to integrate with specific apps like Okta and GitHub. Although these integration issues require just basic troubleshooting, they do occur and can be inconvenient.

I struggle to understand where things stand and how everything is interdependent. It seems overly complex. A more linear path through the product would help immensely.

I really appreciate how Vanta helps us keep our compliance documents organized, particularly in making our SOC 2 and HIPAA audits run smoothly. This organization is essential for our company as it facilitates the auditing process and ensures compliance, which is a major aspect of our operations. I find the feature that keeps track of which employees are responsible for what evidence and documents extremely useful. **What do you like best about Vanta?**

Vanta's software has significantly streamlined our ISO audit process. The platform allows us to map controls directly to certification requirements, and its process management tools enable us to assign work or evidence-gathering tasks directly to the relevant controls and service owners. This setup also provides comprehensive tracking for the steering committee, making oversight much easier.

Recently, I reached out to Vanta's customer support for assistance with an access review question. My support agent, Paige, was outstanding—she created a video with a screen recording that clearly demonstrated all the possible solutions within my account, which made it very straightforward to identify and resolve the issue.

I'm very satisfied with both the software and the support team, and I would recommend Vanta to others.

It has taken me some time to get familiar with how the different tools in Vanta are arranged in the navigation. I would really appreciate a feature that makes it easier to jump to my most recently visited or bookmarked pages within the tool.

I like Vanta's easy-to-use interface and the great support from the AM team. The compliance automation and coordination with a virtual CISO make things simpler. It's great that Vanta integrates with our AWS, Azure, background check provider, and Google Workspace, which is a big part of why it's so easy to use. The interface is simple enough to self-serve but also flexible enough for a virtual CISO to operate the instance for us. The initial setup was very easy; I set it up myself.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I appreciate using Vanta for prepping for our ISO 27001 certification, monitoring security, and managing compliance across our organization. Our goal was to ensure that our vulnerability management was top-notch and automate as much of the processes as possible. From what I have heard, the setup process was simple, as there were no issues reported from our IT team.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I am frustrated with Vanta's contract management and customer relationship approach. After we decided that ISO 27001 wasn't a priority anymore, we contacted them to discuss terminating our contract early. Unfortunately, there isn't a clause for early termination, and we were locked into a 3-year commitment. Vanta was inflexible, sticking strictly to contract terms without considering the actual value being received. They offered to move to another program, but it didn't fit our needs. Instead of working together at a reasonable, human level, it felt very transactional rather than partnership-driven. I advise others to consider future IT roadmap changes before locking into a long, expensive contract with Vanta.

I first learned about Vanta on LinkedIn, where it was praised as the next big thing in compliance management. After researching other options, Vanta stood out as unbeatable. One of the major strengths of Vanta is the seamless setup process, facilitated by the Vanta Academy and an interactive guide that simplifies onboarding. The home page effectively organizes tasks with detailed guides on how to perform them, enhancing user-friendliness. Vanta has been instrumental in streamlining various complex processes. It has centralized our compliance management tasks into a single platform, significantly reducing the need for a large team and minimizing manual workloads. The platform excels in automating the vendor security assessment process, which previously required manual tracking of questionnaires, NDA approvals, and document submissions. Additionally, features like automated policy tracking, vendor security assessments, and real-time audit readiness have been particularly useful. Vanta's integration with Dreta for automating evidence collection and tracking adds another layer of efficiency to our operations. The comprehensive automation, ease of client management on a single platform, and continuous monitoring for audit readiness with minimal effort are compelling reasons for me to consider purchasing Vanta again.

In addition to the many of the out-of-the-box features, Vanta's customer support is phenomenal! Regardless of market size, the team is always supportive when issues arise or we can't find the answers we need. Product Feedback is heavily appreciated and is put into future sprints; our team has seen many new features pushed out based upon feedback we've given and this continues to enhance the platform even further.

Ease of use for those who are not familiar with GRC platforms is a huge selling point. Setting up integrations and getting your GRC program up and running makes it incredibly easy for the end user; whether its a seasoned IT professional or a new compliance analyst. Did I also mention they have the HITRUST framework available; out of the box!! No more manually monitoring or logging into MyCSF all the time - a huge time and resource saver that immediately provides ROI for any organization.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

While we've had some issue with a certain 3rd party integration, Vanta has continued to make themselves and their engineers available to help resolve (even though the issue lies with the other 3rd party and not Vanta). Vanta was able to partner with us and the 3rd party to resolve the issue and ensure bi-directional feed of data from the 2 platforms. 

So, dislikes? Hard to account for because they are continually innovating on their product and taking steps to shore up any items that present gaps or discourage an end user from a positive experience when using Vanta.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform is allowing a small but mighty team to have a holistic view of our overall compliance program and the health of it and its supporting programs and processes. It allows for organizational transparency and reduces the audit fatigue that can occur with technical teams. Clients can easily self-serve any evidentiary objects needed to complete an audit without having additional resources involved. This saves so much time when completing security questionnaires as we can direct clients to the Trust Center to self-serve these objects. While we still receive security questionnaires, anything a client can't glean from the Trust Center is easily tackled in the Vanta Questionnaire Automation, thanks to our beefy knowledge bank and the magic AI on the backend. It's like having 2-3 GRC analysts on hand at all times! At the end of the day, Vanta helped us move from spreadsheets to a centralized location that isn't tamperable and allows for stakeholders to drill into specific metrics and areas to ensure compliance.

Vanta provides a comprehensive view and timeline of all the necessary tasks that you need to do to complete the controls applicable to SOC 2. For each task the explanation around it is great. Lastly, their tasks for cloud security and monitoring are one of the best in the market. We use this on a daily basis to monitor our compliance for frequency of use. Their CSM are some of the nicest and most helpful people I have met who will try their best to solve your questions.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

1.For renewing tasks specifically where a link or document needs to be uploaded it would be great if I could upload it and future date it so that in the coming year the time is not pre-poned for that particular task. This is particularly useful for various vendor checks and document uploads. 
2. The platform is a bit difficult to navigate and can be made a whole lot simpler. With the recent update it seems to be moving in the right direction.
3. Their integrations keep breaking and it becomes difficult to rely on them especially for offboarding tasks. Really wish they can improve this. Prime examples are hubspot, AWS, wrike.

Customer support has been great and we have a dedicated CSM that has supported us thrughout our journey.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

I find Vanta incredibly useful as our go-to GRC platform. Setting it up was very easy, especially since it tied seamlessly into our Google Workspace, simplifying our authentication practices significantly. The templates provided by Vanta streamlined our policy management process, aiding in spearheading our compliance initiatives all within a single platform. Additionally, the training platform has been integral to successfully administering our Infocyte and secure coding training, ensuring smooth sign-offs. I appreciate having a comprehensive 'one-stop shop' for everything related to compliance and information security, which is advantageous for companies pursuing compliance standards like SOC 2 or ISO. The automation of control testing has optimized our processes, and I find the overall ease of use in implementation remarkable. Moreover, the support team stands out for their exceptional service, always ready to assist by providing clear communication about upcoming products and conducting insightful demos. This supportive interaction reassures us and assists in planning for future budgets. It's all these elements combined that underscore why I value Vanta so highly, leading me to give a top recommendation score.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I found the initial experience with Vanta's support team a bit confusing. When we first joined, we had multiple support team members as our primary points of contact, which was somewhat confusing. As a new customer, having a consistent and single point of contact for at least the first six months would have been more beneficial. Although we managed to get through it, the process was initially unclear.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Vanta centralizes our policy management, automates testing, and simplifies compliance, solving previous issues with Dropbox and facilitating easy policy sign-offs and training delivery.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

What I really love about Vanta is how it combines so many powerful features into one easy-to-use tool. You've got continuous monitoring working in the background, which is a huge relief—it means we're always ready for an audit. Plus, it supports multiple frameworks like SOC 2 and ISO 27001, so we can handle everything from a single spot. It's all presented in a super clean and intuitive interface that makes a stressful process feel simple. And it really helps that it can be integrated with a great number of platforms and systems

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

I find that some minor aspects of the platform's user experience can be challenging(this is a very particular thing). For example, the filters sometimes don't work as expected, either showing more or less information than they should. The UI for complex filtering also isn't the most efficient. Furthermore, the Support team frequently changes recently released features, which means we have to constantly adapt to new workflows and learn how they want things to be done.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform has really cut down on our internal workload for vendor management and is now a key part of our alert system, letting us monitor multiple platforms from one central spot. This has saved us a ton of time and ensures we're always ready for audits with way less effort.

**What do you like best about Vanta?**

When it comes to automating and simplifying the security compliance process, Vanta is immensely beneficial.  The way it breaks down complicated frameworks like SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HIPAA into simple chores is what I enjoy best about it.  Time is greatly reduced by the integrations with AWS, GitHub, and Google Workspace, and real-time security posture visibility is provided by the ongoing monitoring.  Startups and expanding businesses that need to swiftly scale compliance without starting from scratch with an internal team will find it very helpful.  The Vanta team provides prompt, informed support, and the UI is easy to use.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vanta is addressing the issue of laborious, tedious, and frequently perplexing security compliance procedures.  It would take a lot of internal resources, in-depth knowledge, and back-and-forth with auditors to obtain certifications like SOC 2 or ISO 27001 without Vanta.  Time is saved, human error is decreased, and nothing is overlooked thanks to Vanta's automation of evidence collecting, constant system monitoring, and clear direction.  I see this as a way to increase consumer trust, strengthen security procedures, and expedite audits without the need for a specialized compliance team.  It transforms a difficult procedure into one that is scalable and manageable.

This is trash software with trash support. It did not work, integrations were burdensome to set up, their support was horrible. The initial setup was horrible, we had to cancel our contract with them.

2. It connects to my company's tools, systems and continuously checks for security gaps, offering a real-time view of your compliance status.
3. By automatically collecting audit evidence and providing templates, it frees up my team from tedious, repetitive tasks.
4. Its user-friendly dashboard and guided checklists break down complex requirements into simple, actionable steps, making it easy even for non-experts.
5. It includes built-in security training modules for all employees. It tracks completion and sends reminders, helping you easily fulfill a common requirement for nearly all security frameworks.

**What do you dislike about Vanta?**

1. It can be expensive, particularly for early-stage startups or companies with very tight budgets; considering company still need to engage separate Auditors who are also familiar with Vanta.

2. The platform can be too rigid if the company has a non-standard tech stack or unique, custom security controls.

3. It doesn't connect with every tool, meaning companies using niche or custom software will still need to perform manual evidence collection.

**What problems is Vanta solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vanta solves critical business problems by turning security into a growth driver. It automates achieving certifications like SOC 2 and ISO 27001, which are often required to close large enterprise deals. This unblocks sales and proves trustworthiness to customers.

The platform also resolves major operational pains. By automating evidence collection and continuously monitoring security, Vanta saves hundreds of engineering hours. This frees your team to focus on innovation instead of tedious, manual audit prep.
