**Reviewed by:** Ayush G. | freelancer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2022

**What do you like best about V-Ray?**

Vray has a good material library, its easy to assign materials and texturing , or even making a new material is easy and fast , vray renderer is also faster than 3ds max so i use it more.

**What do you dislike about V-Ray?**

vray use ram instead of vram for as for memory usage , which make operation complicated and less inutiative especially for the less experienced ones , vray is little more expensive than other plugins other things are at its best

**What problems is V-Ray solving and how is that benefiting you?**

vray is solving the problem of slow rendering , it also gives much realistic render than many others and also more fast, even in low specification systems it works well.

  ### 41. A robust rendering tool for photo-realistic renders

-The capability of photo realisitic renders
-Control over lighting, both external and interior light
-Integration with other software, like Sketchup, Revit etc
-The ability to control every aspect of renders, including texture maps, color, lighting etc.

**What do you dislike about V-Ray?**

The learning curve of V-ray is a little steep, it can be improved and can be made easy to use.
Render times are sometimes too high, it can take advantage of both GPU and CPU then which will be awesome.

**What problems is V-Ray solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to create photo-realistic renders, I am using V-ray to create renders for my architectural products, for which I go forward and do energy analysis, it helps me visualise and present spaces to the people

  ### 42. V-Ray Renderings

**Reviewed by:** Tahir R. | BIM Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about V-Ray?**

I like it with its photorealistic touch and near-to-real images as a render. Its engine is very compatible and its plugin can mix into any of the BIM tools. Just fantastic.

**What do you dislike about V-Ray?**

I just don't like the way renders perform, I think it should be integrated just like Enscape so that real-time renderings can be viewed and walkthroughs can be generated.

**Recommendations to others considering V-Ray:**

It will be highly recommended.

  ### 44. Most Versatile Renderer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Motion Pictures and Film | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2022

**What do you like best about V-Ray?**

The Ecosystem of V-Ray makes it stand out from other renderers. The ability to transfer scenes between DCCs using vrscene and proxy formats. Feature-packed VFB helps in comparing results quickly.

**What do you dislike about V-Ray?**

The most frequent updates are focused on 3dsmax and Maya. Houdini's development is a little slower at the moment.
There are still some parities between CPU and GPU.
Most online tutorials and resources are based on 3dsmax and Architecture visualization, so it's hard to find complex workflows for VFX/CGI projects.

**What problems is V-Ray solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apart from being a fast and versatile renderer, it provides easy interoperability between different applications, which is a major requirement for any complex project.

  ### 45. Detailed layer renders

**What do you like best about V-Ray?**

This software is one of the best-layered rendering tools with extreme control over materials, reflections and lighting details

**What do you dislike about V-Ray?**

The interface is slightly outdated and the is not up to pace with new-age realtime rendering software like lumion, enscape or unreal engine.

**What problems is V-Ray solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping designers present their initial design ideas in better and attractive formats making their work more saleable.

  ### 46. A Great Tool For Realistic Renders

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ecemnaz Y. | Product Designer, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2021

**What do you like best about V-Ray?**

Texture library and adjustable lighting settings,
Detail and quality of the textures,
Being able to add new textures outside from the V-ray.

**What do you dislike about V-Ray?**

Not so easy to learn, requires IES light files

**What problems is V-Ray solving and how is that benefiting you?**

V-ray is an excellent tool for professional architectural renders. I prefer to use V-ray for interior scenes. V-ray can work with different modeling software. Light adjustments are so helpful, especially when you want different light effects. You can adjust textures and lights in V-ray, or you can import different textures. The texture library gets better in every update. Using bump settings and material reflection makes rendering more realistic. Render outputs are also adjustable.
One downside of the tool is that to add IES lights; you have to have your own IES light collection. Finding IES collections is easy, and most of them are free. But it confuses beginners.
Usually, V-ray looks complicated to beginners because of its detailed settings. It takes time to become professional. It is a professional render engine that requires both modeling and rendering acknowledgment.
Overall, it is very convenient and gives high-quality results.
