**What do you like best about V-Ray?**

What I love most about V-Ray is the realism it delivers in lighting, reflections, and materials. I’ve used it for interior and exterior visualization projects for many years, and it still gives me the level of control I need to produce professional-quality renders.

In client work, the accuracy of its lighting and material rendering has been especially helpful. Whether I’m working on daylight scenes or artificial lighting, or dialing in surfaces like glass, wood textures, and fabric materials, the final output can look very natural when everything is set up properly. That realism makes it easier to present ideas convincingly to clients before the project is actually executed.

I also appreciate the flexibility of the render settings. I can optimize render times for quick previews, and then, for final delivery, push the quality much higher depending on what the project requires. Its integration with 3ds Max has also been a reliable part of my workflow over the past few years.

Another strong point is the large amount of materials, assets, and learning resources available through the V-Ray community, which makes troubleshooting and experimenting easier for professional artists.

**What do you dislike about V-Ray?**

One thing I don’t like about V-Ray is that it can take a while to achieve optimal results, especially for new users. It gives you a lot of control over lighting, materials, and render settings, but understanding all the parameters properly can be challenging at first. Early on, I sometimes struggled to find the right balance between render quality and render time.

Another issue is hardware usage. For high-resolution interior scenes with detailed textures and complex lighting, rendering can be very demanding on the system. Small studios or freelancers may need solid hardware upgrades to keep the workflow smooth on larger projects.

For quick client revisions, I also find that some scenes can become time-consuming if they aren’t optimized well. Even though speed and workflow have improved in the newer version, large production scenes still require careful scene management.

Despite these drawbacks, I continue to use V-Ray because the final render quality and reliability make it worth it for professional visualization work.

**What problems is V-Ray solving and how is that benefiting you?**

V-Ray addresses one of the biggest challenges in architectural visualization: producing highly realistic renders for client presentations before a project is actually built. In my work, clients often want to see ideal lighting, materials, colors, and the overall atmosphere before they approve a design, and V-Ray helps me deliver that level of realism.

It has also strengthened my workflow on interior projects because I can explore different lighting moods, material finishes, and camera setups without needing to build anything on-site. Being able to test these options early saves time and reduces revision costs during the design stage.

Another major advantage for me is the balance between quality and control. Depending on the deadline, I can generate quick preview renders for client discussions or produce high-quality final renders for presentation and marketing. The rendering accuracy also helps clients understand the space more clearly, which makes communication smoother and approvals easier.

For professional interior and exterior visualization, V-Ray has become an essential part of my workflow because it consistently helps me deliver realistic results that clients can trust before work even begins.

**What do you like best about V-Ray?**

With update it is getting more smooth usable, its now more smarter with real-time rendering capabilities.
V-Ray now provides Vision options that allows to see lighting, materials, and design changes instantly while working. Material Library also getting updated which includes more high-quality PBR materials that make any 3D house model look incredibly realistic without extra tweaking. Also, the enhanced Light Mix feature helps test multiple lighting moods in a single render. With all the upgrades V-ray makes client presentations more faster and clearer.

**What do you dislike about V-Ray?**

Rendering is still big task for Some big architectural work, if any full-resolution renders then its continue to take time more time, so further optimization or smarter options will be helpful. Some software integration is still little complex that improvement can add better advantage and more production with any software integration. Yes material library has expanded but many practical and everyday materials still need to be imported or custom-built. Having more ready-to-use, real-world textures and presets would save a lot of time for designers working on tight schedules.

While using software like SketchUp this extension is must-have software to ease up the work and improve the quality of rendering.

Enabling the connection with more 3D modeling software, updating the material library, and updating for best views are beneficial in the rendering and presentation to update my portfolio work.

**What do you like best about V-Ray?**

I have been using V-Ray daily for architectural and interior design visualization since its first public beta for 3ds Max. V-Ray remains my primary rendering engine because of its exceptional realism, reliability, and professional consistency. I really like V-Ray's physically accurate lighting and materials, which allow for confident design evaluations, especially in complex interior and mixed-lighting scenes. Its strong material system is both powerful and flexible, supporting production workflows and advanced technical control. V-Ray's continuous improvements in performance, GPU rendering, and interactive workflows offer an excellent balance between speed and visual accuracy. Additionally, I appreciate the speed, simplicity, and the large library of 3D models and materials. Setting it up is very simple, which has been the case since I first used the beta version.

I’ve been using V-Ray for SketchUp for many years, and it has consistently impressed me with how much it has improved over time. Each new version feels more refined, making it easier and faster to achieve high-quality results. The interface has become more intuitive, and the rendering engine continues to strike a balance between realism and efficiency. I appreciate that I can now get professional-level visuals without spending endless hours tweaking settings. It’s a reliable and powerful tool that has become essential to my workflow.

V-Ray still has a learning curve, especially for beginners, as the number of settings can feel overwhelming at first. Rendering is also quite resource-intensive, so having a powerful machine is almost a must. And while I find the quality worth it, the licensing cost can be high, particularly for smaller studios or independent designers. With very complex models, I’ve also experienced occasional slowdowns or instability.

V-Ray is solving the challenge of turning 3D models into realistic, high-quality visuals directly in SketchUp. Before, it was time-consuming to get lifelike materials, lighting, and renderings, but V-Ray makes it possible to produce professional results much faster. This benefits me by saving valuable time in my workflow, allowing me to focus more on the design process itself rather than spending hours tweaking render settings. **What do you like best about V-Ray?**

V-Ray stands out as one of the most powerful and versatile rendering engines for architects, designers, and 3D artists. The best part about V-Ray is its photorealism and flexibility.
I like V-Ray best because it combines quality, speed, and flexibility in one package. Unlike some renderers that are either too slow or too limited, V-Ray gives me confidence that I can deliver photorealistic results on deadline whether it’s a quick draft for client approval or a final cinematic presentation.

**What do you dislike about V-Ray?**

While V-Ray is a powerful rendering engine with incredible strengths, there are a few aspects that I find less appealing:
Heavy System Requirements, Long Render Times, Slower Real-Time Feedback.

V-Ray helps me turn design concepts into realistic visuals that clients can instantly understand. It solves the problem of showing exactly how materials, lighting, and spaces will look in real life, which makes communication easier and speeds up approvals. Since it works smoothly with tools like SketchUp and 3ds Max, I don’t waste time switching software. Overall, it saves me time, reduces revisions, and helps me deliver high-quality results that stand out.

**What do you like best about V-Ray?**

What I like best about V-Ray is the sheer ease of use: sane defaults, predictable lighting, and materials that just work and paired with the Chaos Vantage hookup for buttery real-time look-dev and instant scene exploration. V-Ray GPU is the star: blisteringly fast iterations, super clean noise handling, and final frames that look production-ready without a fight. That combo is it's stellar usability, Vantage integration, and GPU punch, makes it my no-brainer renderer. Frequency of use? Daily. Ease of implementation? I mainly work with 3ds Max and on my 2023 version I have no issue of using it.

**What do you dislike about V-Ray?**

Honestly? The price. In Europe you’re looking at roughly €469/year for V-Ray Solo and about €649/year for Premium before VAT, with Solo monthly around €70, awesome tool, but that subscription stings.

**What problems is V-Ray solving and how is that benefiting you?**

V-Ray solves the “make it look real, fast, and consistent” problem and its physically-based lighting/materials and rock-solid GI (plus beastly V-Ray GPU) let me crank out stunning interior design shots, sun-soaked outdoor scenes, and moody post-apocalyptic concepts without babysitting settings; with LightMix, Scatter/Cosmos, and Vantage for real-time look-dev, I hit approvals quicker, and the final frames land cleanly with stock agencies like Getty Images, fewer iterations, predictable deadlines, more sales.

V-Ray consistently delivers photorealistic results with a high level of control over every rendering aspect. The integration with 3ds Max is smooth and stable, making it my go-to renderer for product animations and architectural visualization. The wide range of materials, lighting tools, and render elements provides flexibility for both stills and animations. The denoiser and progressive rendering make look-development faster and more efficient.

Render times can still be heavy on complex animations, especially when using brute force on high-detail scenes. GPU memory limitations can also be a challenge for very large projects. While Chaos has improved the UI in recent versions, some settings are still scattered and require advanced knowledge to fully optimize.

I like the large number of tools that V-Ray offers and its compatibility with many other software. I find it valuable the time saved when switching from one software to another, making the most of time and quality. Also, I think V-Ray is the best photorealism software on the market.

The 3D models in the plans for visualization because only the outline is seen and what it represents can be lost. For schematic representation in project plans, there is an area for improvement.
