V-Ray is part of my regular workflow for visualizing products. The material editor produces deep results and the lighting tools feel very physical. When I set up a scene properly the renders look believable. I also appreciate the community. Whenever I get stuck there is usually a forum post or tutorial that helps me figure it out. The learning curve is steep and I still feel like I'm learning new things after years of use. For quick jobs it can still feel like an overkill. Sometimes I just want a fast clean render and instead I end up fiddling with sampling settings. My old workstation struggled with bigger scenes so I had to upgrade. It's an investment both in time and money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
