It can easily handle large text files (I have opened 15gb text files), searching, editing, replacing is extremely quick and easy - even on a laptop. I use it daily to review portions of large ETL setups and make sure our logic is being implemented as planned. We also use it to write / edit scripts. We love the performance, stability and feature set of Ultraedit. We have looked for other products and crashes come often, but not Ultraedit, when dealing with very large text files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about UltraEdit? At times - if you do not know what you are looking for it can be hard to find help. I would appreciate an offline help for when on the train, plane etc. Integrating items from the online help into the product (downloads, macros, etc) could be a welcome addition (instead of going searching for them or writing ourselves). What problems is UltraEdit solving and how is that benefiting you? We typically need to review/edit large text files or JSON docs on a regular basis. We use it to review portions of our ETL process mid-stream and spot check errors/non standard output.
