Not to be too simplistic, but it does what it says on the... (drumroll) TIN. We have a set of tax information from customers that get entered and we are able to pretty seamlessly pipe in that data using the TIN API calls and communicate those results to customers. Huge win for them to have their vendor's tax info validated Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Rate limiting, which I believe is done not by TINCheck but by the IRS, can sometimes be a bit painful. We were able to implement caching on our side to group and limit and speed up the calls we make on our side, but my understanding is that this is not a TIN Check limitation, but a limitation of the core API the IRS offers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
