What do you like best about Timely?

What stands out most about Timely is its hands-off approach to time tracking—it runs quietly in the background, logging the apps, files, and sites you use without requiring you to manually start or stop timers. By capturing your entire workday automatically, it eliminates the guesswork and stress of reconstructive timesheets, letting you focus entirely on your actual work while ensuring every billable minute is accurately recorded. What do you dislike about Timely?

While Timely’s automated tracking is impressive, its biggest drawback is that the AI isn’t foolproof—it frequently misclassifies activities, requiring you to manually review and reassign entries to the correct projects. Additionally, it sits at a noticeably higher price point than traditional time-trackers, and essential features like task management cost extra rather than being included in the base plans. Combined with a clunky mobile app that lacks offline tracking, it can feel surprisingly high-maintenance for a tool designed to save you effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Timely solving and how is that benefiting you?

Problems Timely Solves

1. "Time Leakage" & Unbilled Hours

The Problem: Traditional, manual time tracking relies on starting/stopping timers or filling out timesheets at the end of the day or week. Most people forget small tasks (quick emails, client calls, side reviews), leading to inaccurate invoices and lost revenue.

The Solution: Timely runs in the background via its Memory app, automatically logging every document, site, app, and meeting you interact with to capture a complete digital timeline.

2. Context-Switching & Friction

The Problem: Having to manually click "Start" and "Stop" or constantly log hours breaks focus, disrupting deep work and flow state.

The Solution: Because the tracking is passive and continuous, you don't have to pause your workflow to log hours. You can focus on the task at hand and organize your logged time later.

3. Inaccurate Project Estimates & Resource Allocation

The Problem: Teams often underestimate how long projects actually take, leading to scope creep, underpriced contracts, and employee burnout.

The Solution: By providing precise visual breakdowns of where hours are actually spent across projects and clients, teams can price proposals accurately and balance workloads fairly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
