**What do you like best about Thomas?**

Quality of the output and the amount of variety of feedback reports available. This enables me to select reports that are specific to that customer situation and answer the question of why we have assessed the individual.

**What do you dislike about Thomas?**

The report section is not easy to use, and if you require multiple reports on a PPA profile, the system stops you from ticking them, and the user has to wait for the direction support field to disappear. We often send the PDf version to a client, and the system gives them a crazy reference rather than the delegate name, date, and report. It would also benefit from connecting from one report input to another e.g. if the client has done a PPA and a TEIQ why can't they reference each other.

**What problems is Thomas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are helping our clients make more sophisticated recruitment decisions. We are helping our customers assess the development needs of the existing team and create successions plans.

The suite of different assessments offers all you need as an HR professional to support organisations in recruitment, evaluation and developing people and teams. All of the assessments offer different solutions and are easy to use and administer and the reports are of a great quality.

I have never found anything to dislike about Thomas. It is a really great product and always been very happy with it. There aren't any glitches or anything annoying to be worried about.

We have used Thomas for many years; the PPA and GIA are fantastic tools, aiding us in recruitment, training and managing performance.  We also use Thomas for our Engage Survey.  The website is easy to use, and the support is fantastic.

In my opinion, there are no downsides to using Thomas, it can only help your business improve.

The PPA tool is a fantastic aid during recruitment as it enhances the interview and CV, so that we can better understand the candidate's preferred working style.  The GIA helps us adjust our training programme to each individual.

**What do you like best about Thomas?**

Thomas sells a number of instruments that are user friendly, inexpensive, easy to understand and work relevant. 

You have control over the system and its many facets and can readily get support from well qualified professionals who work for the company.

Their range of assessments enable you to assess an individual from multiple viewpoints. Used in an informed way by experienced professionals, they add excellent insights into the performance and engagement of people at work.

**What do you dislike about Thomas?**

One has to be careful of abdicating people decision-making to tools! 

A builder uses a spirit level to build a level wall, but it remains the builder who builds the wall.  So it is with assessments. They are best used by skilled professionals who take the environment, industry, function and job title into consideration together with the education, experience, competencies and reputation of the candidate or employee. 

Assessments colour a comprehensive understanding of an individual in the context of a team or a job. Used in that way, they add tremendous value.

**What problems is Thomas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recruitment: Putting the right people into the right jobs.

Career Development: Helping people to choose development options, career paths and promotions that make sense for their capabilities and behavioural preferences.

Team Building: By understanding what makes each member of a team tick via their behavioural preferences  leads people to respect differences and value opposite preferences. Just this one issue can build the unity and purpose of a team. Certainly more than rah rah team building sessions.

Interpersonal Relationships: Conflict often arises from differences. One person behaves this way which irritates another person who behaves differently. By understanding why these differences arise, I find that the lights come on and people re-assess their antipathy to others that have no basis beyond behavioural preference.

**What do you like best about Thomas?**

I like that you can get under the surface of a candidate in a way they might not know they perceive themselves so that you can explore this within the interview and assessment process to aid our hiring managers.

**What do you dislike about Thomas?**

Nothing, the system is very easy to use. I have had no reported issues from candidates so I can only assume they find it easy to use also. It would be great if reminder emails could automatically go out to candidates if they don't complete the assessment after a couple of days.

**Recommendations to others considering Thomas:**

This assessment tool will enhance your recruitment process so that you can challenge and assess your candidates to a higher degree to ensure you bring on board to right candidate the first time!

**What problems is Thomas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For very niche roles as well as senior roles, we can provide more differential between candidates and ensure that the working styles and behaviors are suitable for the position as well as what they display on their CV and in the interview.

**What do you like best about Thomas?**

Such an insightful way for HR and managers to gain information about candidates and colleagues for hiring and promotions. The reports are very detailed and very relevant to anyone who is applying for a new role. There is a massive variety of different reports and if you have the training on how to read and impart them, it can be very useful for hiring managers. 
When used consistently and correctly, Thomas International Psychometric reports can completely reinvigorate your company culture, because you get a quantitive insight into the inner workings of potential and current employees to help you determine their best method of working and who they would work well with, ensuring you can perpetuate the culture you want to refine and continue.

**What do you dislike about Thomas?**

Some of the reports can be difficult to understand due to their use of different terminology & similar wording meaning different things. For instance the different attributes looked at within the TEIQ reports.

We've been using Thomas profiles for years as part of our recruitment process and also for employee development, it allows for deeper, more enriched conversations about an individual's skill set, both in terms of past peformance, but also future performance and development, these are conversations that wouldn't happen without the Thomas profiles

The only downside to the Thomas reports is that without proper analysis and context, ts possible that some of the meaning can be misinterpreted and the development opportunity missed

If you want to enhance recruitment and employee development this is a great tool to use, for so many reason

There are a multitude of benefits to the Thomas reports in hiring, onboarding and employee development, in the hiring process, we can explore behaviours and traits that would otherwise be missed in a traditional recruitment process, and it provides a more complete picture of an individual, what value they can bring to an organisation and what they need from the business to be successful. In employee development it provides an objective perspective to area for improvement, making the development discussion more personal

**What do you like best about Thomas?**

The range of tests available and the feedback that can be obtained from the tests has been great; as a recruitment tool, they are incredibly useful and have really helped get more of an insight into individuals which then enhance the recruitment process and allow for greater probing in interviews.

**What do you dislike about Thomas?**

I would say that the downside is around candidate experience; this could be improved. The layout of tests and the appearance of tests, more so before the tests have begun, could be improved. Traditionally tests such as these have always been very formal, and it would be good to break down the formality even more as this will help to improve the image of companies that use the tests.

Candidate insights, being able to have a deeper understanding of candidates to allow probing of areas in interviews.

**What problems is Thomas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been developing ways to use the various products and services from Thomas & Co for about a year.  

Irrespective of the use cases I have been researching, or the age and culture of the person being assessed, the reactions to the mainstay Personal Profile Analysis (PPA) have been consistently positive. The most usual responses were:

a) Visceral reactions when people being tested understood they were no right answers - that "the sum of my work experience" was not that relevant when considering your personal training / job options.

b) Disbelief that "a 8-10 minute questionnaire can reveal so much about me".

Thomas provides numerous benefits for recruiters and candidates alike, but working with Thomas has also involved ways to improve productivity and reduce training costs. My areas of interest have included opportunities like: 

1. "40% of people hate their jobs" solutions
Thomas assessments help to align people's career / job choices with their strengths. When people have aligned strengths with job/career choices, then they are happier at work. And, when people are happier at work, the results include improved productivity and reduced staff turnover. Subject to peer review, my research suggest that a company/country could DOUBLE its productivity rates within 5 years by leveraging the information provided by Thomas & Co. 

2. "67% of people leave the boss, not the company" solutions
Thomas can help managers understand the best way to deal with staff. Using PPAs to identify strengths of individual team members means managers can better align team skills and reduce the chance of losing team members and their organisational memory. 

3. Improving the ability for businesses to adapt to change 
Thomas makes life much easier when businesses need to pivot - the systems provide the information required to help managers realign jobs and individual strengths.

4. Reputation Management for Tertiary Providers / better learning choices
Depending on the course and the provider, 20%-40% of students can fail to complete year one. Thomas can reduce first year "Failure to Complete" rates by better aligning course choices with their individual strengths and passions. For example, a 25% First Year "Failure to Complete" rate could be reduced to 12.5%. I amazed how few Tertiary Providers use Thomas PPAs to identify student strengths as part of their pre-enrollment and marketing efforts. All a bit "Penny wise and pound foolish" in my humble opinion.
 
5. Remote Workers 
Thomas tests help employers to identify the people best suited to remote work. Thomas Assessments can also minimise employee stress by suggesting the best ways to manage each individuals who are working from home. 

With a team of 500 people, many who are trained psychologists, and nearly 40 years of experience, I think Thomas is the "GoTo" choice for any individual or organisation wanting to maximise their happiness and effectiveness. Summing things up, Thomas is not just about "buying a test". The Thomas suite of tools and reports are more akin to investing in a 21st Century business operating system.

the fact that I was able to reach out to my UK contact and work with that person to deliver certification across the globle to all the senior HR team of our organisation

nothing, TI PPA is our preferred profiling tool.  Sometimes I think we don't actually use TI and the other resources of the PPA enough. it would be really good to have a better understanding of all the uses we can make of the tools

A great profiling tool that has not disappointed a single candidate recruited by this company in the last 6 years.  We use it for all our recruitments in the second stage interview to determine the fit with the company and provide candidate feedback each time.

a solid tool to help our recruitment efforts and dig deeper if we need to in the process, also for building what the ideal team looks like or the profile for the role that we want to fill

Tom Maher was efficient, he worked with our business and understood what we were looking to achieve

At present, the technical issues. We have invested significantly over this year and committed to ongoing work with Thomas in 2022.  Having been told our account hub would remain the same, we have recently lost access to all the data this year.  I understand our current account manager is trying to resolve this, which needs to be completed urgently as we are in the middle of an ongoing project.

**Recommendations to others considering Thomas:**

Ensure account management is accessible 
Access to information on those who have completed the profile to allow ongoing work 
TEiQue - management guide would be benficial for feedback sessions

As above.

Having completed PPA with the team this year we want to build on these and pull other reports that we could have access to.  All the employees have gone, no warning that this would happen. The hard work and investment are currently on hold.

I had done SDI assessment in a previous job, and the comparisons with the Thomas International assessment was very eye-opening. Coupled with the assessment of how that works within a team scenario was very interesting. Particularly as we are a new team having highlighted areas of potential conflict (some of which had definitely already been evidenced!) - I hope as an organisation we will be able to reflect on this new information and be able to build up stronger.

**What do you dislike about Thomas?**

The downsides are not necessarily related directly to the Thomas International experience, but I fear that although we have this new found information, is how do we ensure that this is acted upon and the benefits are given. It would be nice for Thomas to have some guidance for steps to review progress in 3/6/12months time to revisit the character profiles and to make sure lessons learnt are captured effectively.

We are a new and rapidly growing team so there are some growing issues, and some new ways of working that need to be established. By understanding the members of the team at a deeper level we hope to be able to build effective ways of communication in order to maximise our potential and where conflict arises, this is constructive to us. My biggest takeaway is learning where the similarities and differences are between my colleagues and particularly my management, hopefully by altering my approach, this will have a good benefit on my work.

The tools are detailed and provide a large amount of information. However, some of the language doesn't sit right with individuals, and as a result, they don't connect with the outputs.

The level of accuracy and representation of the self and how the results could be incorporated to shape and explain team dymanics. This offers excellent insights into enhancing team productivity.

I like the programme to offer more opportunities to reflect on the results in some form of follow-ups. Less one-directional talk and more input from the participants.

The training I received from Thomas International was comprehensive and well delivered. An essential part of my ILM7 journey.

Nothing I disliked. It would have been great to have face to face delivery but totally understand this is not possible under the current circumstances.

Assessments are good, easy to explain and communicate to clients and candidate, at the content solid.

**What do you dislike about Thomas?**

1) The sample rapports should not be placed with the actual rapport/under the candidate - too many times people print it as the actual rapport. At least in the beginning.

2) Graphic design and consistency from web to rapports and from rapport to rapport. As a recruitment agency the visual image presented to the client and the candidate is important as well.

3) Miss having a better overview for more user's on how much they spend in units and assessments and when. As a recruitment company we invoice every consultant for use, and it is difficult to finde.

We needed as important tool to guarantee the quality of our recruitment process. For us quality is a primer factor and by using a validated assessment tool with a good usability, we insure our professionalism and image as top of the line recruitment agency. 

We have several cases where test results have played a significant roll in the choice of candidate.

The clear direction of the guidance to understand the outcomes of the questionnaire, as well as the level of accuracy on telling the thought process of the employee/candidate conducting the questionnaire.

The GIA test. This is not user friendly and if the user fails a field, their confidence can become knocked which influences their next set of the test negatively when it would have been positive.

We've identified it needs to be made clearer what you need to do to download the correct results. Thomas have confirmed this has been brought up by other customers.

Simple way to engage with talent internal and external and there's an array of reports to choose from to hone in on what we're looking for.

**What do you like best about Thomas?**

We used Thomas International's HPTI and PPA psychometrics at the start of an accelerated development programme. I needed to become accredited to use them, and I attended e-learning (live and self-study) to complete this. The e-learning was of good quality and very useful.
When I needed support from Thomas to navigate my way through their portal, I received prompt personal service that solved my problem quickly. Additionally, they maintain a Youtube channel with videos to help in situations like mine.

**What do you dislike about Thomas?**

We found that the PPA psychometric was less useful for the things we wanted to measure, but that's not a reflection on the test itself nor on Thomas.

**What problems is Thomas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to use psychometrics to add value and insight for the delegates on our accelerated development programme, and the reports we received very much helped with that. We have continued to use HPTI in another programme, as well as in some areas of recruitment.

The validity of the measurements. The sales process matched the outcome. The consultation on how to use was short, sweet and effective. The EQ reports has proven valuable and accurate for each individual.  The feedback and reports are meaningful and not bloated. The customer service team are excellent, responsive and positive on the telephone. The methods of payment and processing are flexible.

The user interface could be a bit more snappy when navigating. I have to rename the title of the files for each candidate when downloading.

The PPA and GIA are incredibly useful tools to use when hiring and promoting within. The PPA's are a great indicator of how an individual likes to be managed and where their strengths lie. The GIA's are very helpful when accessing an individuals speed of learning, this means that when we need to hire someone to come in and hit the nail, the use of GIA's tell's us which individual would be quicker at picking things up and which individual may need more time or different approaches to help them learn.

DISC profile seems too generic and repetitive in terms of the feedback data. Preference for HPTI.

That whenever I engage with Thomas International it's always really good value. Whether it's for a TEIQue profile or attending a webinar it's always challenging, insightful and interesting.

There isn't anything I particularly dislike about Thomas International. If I had to choose it would be that it could be made more clear that particularly scores on TEIQue profiles aren't "good or bad" it's mentioned but not particularly elaborated upon.

The important challenge with DISC product is that users coming from outside of coaching or HR, like me, need a fair amount of help to understand the product and use it correctly.  This really applies to all psychometric tools.
