They have a great UI and a wide selection of pricing data for the financial markets. These include equities, forex, futures, bonds, and currencies. Sometimes I just want to have the application up to watch the futures market, but without being logged into the primary account that has the funds in it. To solve this problem, I created a separate "dummy" account, but TDA decided to terminate it because I wasn't willing to put funds into the account. This was a bit annoying because at one point, thinkorswim allowed users to create free accounts, but now they have to be linked to funded accounts. Thus, I have to be logged onto my primary account constantly, which is a security risk for me, just to be able to view real-time data.

They also have an API to fetch out data, but the data isn't super clean. I was hoping thinkorswim would give us an API to fetch out the data in their database, but that hasn't happened yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It has various tools for charting and many many in-depth features for you to understand the chart setups and you can add personal tools to customize your stock charts. The flexibility of the platform is what I like the best. I can create just about any view I need to track and manage my stocks. I originally downloaded it to use the paper money feature but then decided to use it for my actual portfolio because I found it easier to use than the default screens. I have a hard time searching through all the support media to find what I"m looking for. I don't have the time or money to spend on hours of investment training. While i can find how to use the tools on the interface very easily. It is difficult to understand what they are used for. I love that they take their mobile app as seriously as their desktop app. I have been using ToS for at least 9 years and have closed most of my other accounts in other platforms by now. Their desktop app is awesome, and I love the ability to arrange the windows in pieces. Their mobile (iOS) app on phone and iPad are intuitive and I can use my iPad as reliably as a desktop trading station. I love that there is an API to interface with so I can run my own bots.
