What I like most about Thinkific is the flexibility it offers to build and manage a learning platform without needing extensive technical knowledge or development support. We recently launched a membership-based learning platform using Thinkific Plus, bringing together courses, digital resources, communities and subscription options.
The course builder is easy to use, and managing content, creating pages and making changes to the learner experience is fairly straightforward. I particularly appreciate being able to test different learner journeys and make adjustments ourselves without having to involve developers every time.
The range of features and integration options is another advantage, particularly when managing memberships, payments and other organisational systems. From a performance perspective, the platform has been reasonably stable throughout our development and testing, although we are still in the early stages of assessing its performance with a growing membership.
In terms of value for money, Thinkific Plus is certainly an investment, but having several important functions within one platform helps reduce the need for separate systems and additional development work.
One of the biggest positives has been the support from the Thinkific team. We have had some fairly specific requirements, particularly around user permissions, membership journeys and platform customisation. The team has been approachable, responsive and willing to work through these with us. The onboarding and ongoing technical discussions have been particularly helpful.
I am still exploring the AI features, so it is too early to comment on their practical value. Overall, Thinkific has given us a solid foundation to build on, and I appreciate that we can continue developing the platform as our needs evolve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would not necessarily describe these as dislikes, but rather areas where there is still room for improvement as the platform continues to evolve.
Thinkific is generally an intuitive and user-friendly platform, although there are a few limitations when it comes to more advanced requirements. For example, some functionality around assignments and assessments is still being developed, and greater flexibility in customising certain aspects of the learner experience would be helpful, particularly for organisations managing more complex learning programmes.
We have also encountered a few minor technical glitches and situations where certain features do not work quite as expected. However, these have generally been manageable, and the Thinkific team has been proactive in investigating issues, suggesting alternatives and working with us to find practical solutions.
What I particularly appreciate is that the product team is receptive to feedback and genuinely interested in understanding how organisations use the platform. Not every requirement has an immediate solution, but there is a willingness to explore possibilities and consider improvements.
Overall, I see these as opportunities for continued development rather than significant drawbacks. Thinkific already provides a strong foundation, and I look forward to seeing how the platform evolves, particularly around advanced learning features, customisation and administrative flexibility.
