It makes vulnerability scanning straightforward and gives clear, actionable results instead of overwhelming me with unnecessary complexity. I find it especially helpful for quickly identifying risks, prioritizing them, and getting practical remediation guidance. Overall, it saves time and makes security assessments much more efficient. **What do you dislike about Tenable Nessus?** What I dislike about using Tenable Nessus is that sometimes the scan results can be noisy, with false positives that need manual verification. In larger environments, scans can also take time and consume resources, which can slow things down. I also feel the reporting could be more flexible and customized out of the box. While it’s a strong tool overall, it still needs some tuning and validation to get the best value from it. **What problems is Tenable Nessus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Nessus helps me solve the challenge of identifying vulnerabilities across systems before they can be exploited. Instead of manually checking configurations or missing critical issues, it gives me a clear view of security gaps, outdated software, and misconfigurations in one place. Being able to be in complete control of every aspect of how it runs is great. Also being able to size the underlying host and its network architecture to be able to scan what needs to be. **What do you dislike about Tenable Nessus?** The only problem with Nessus is that it can sometimes flag up false positives because of a lack of integration with software vendors to create a joined-up approach and understanding of backports. Simply flagging on version numbers for software isn't enough in this day and age. Extending functionality to know what CVEs have been covered without changing version numbers would be a killer feature. **What problems is Tenable Nessus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Nessus scans those networks and devices that we just can't reach even with the on-site scanners we've deployed for TVM. ### 3. We like that Nessus helps us stay compliant with CIS18 and ensures we aren't missing any "invisible" problems on our network. What stands out is its more user-friendly interface compared to other scanners we've used, and we find it convenient that it doesn't force us to create our own reporting. **What do you dislike about Tenable Nessus?** We would love even more customization in the UI. As a non-developer, I was able to learn the interface quickly and run the scan without much effort. The reports are audit-friendly, and we were able to submit them for compliance purposes. **What do you dislike about Tenable Nessus?** The report is provided in PDF format, so we’re not able to assign specific vulnerabilities to the appropriate teams. It would be very helpful if the reports could also be exported to a format like Excel, so we can allocate vulnerabilities to the respective team members more easily. **What problems is Tenable Nessus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Through DAST scanning, we are able to identify vulnerabilities both immediately after deployment and on a continuous basis.
