What do you like best about TallyPrime?

As a professional working in a CA firm, what I like most about TallyPrime is its exceptional simplicity and the clean, intuitive interface, which noticeably cuts down navigation time compared to older versions. The multi-tasking capability also lets us switch smoothly between multi-company data or open separate reports without losing our current work context, which is a real productivity boost. On top of that, its robust GST compliance and error-detection features help ensure accurate return filing, while the familiar keyboard shortcuts keep data entry fast and efficient. What do you dislike about TallyPrime?

While TallyPrime is highly reliable for core accounting, it has a few clear limitations that create operational friction in a CA firm environment. The software is still fundamentally desktop-centric, and its built-in remote access and cloud capabilities often experience performance lag or occasional connection drops, which disrupts our audit teams when working off-site. In addition, the standard reporting templates feel quite rigid; producing highly customized MIS reports or tailored invoice layouts to match specific client requirements typically ends up requiring costly and complex third-party TDL customizations. Finally, the mobile application is largely limited to a view-only experience rather than enabling full data entry on the go, and we also frequently notice system slowdowns or database synchronization strain when dealing with clients that have very large transaction volumes. What problems is TallyPrime solving and how is that benefiting you?

TallyPrime addresses a critical challenge in our CA firm: managing scattered client data and complex statutory compliance within one unified platform. We often receive disorganized client books, and manual data entry carries a high risk of human error. TallyPrime works like an automated compliance filter by immediately flagging mismatched tax rates, missing vendor details, or incorrect GSTIN configurations before returns are generated. This built-in validation saves our team hours of manual cross-checking and significantly reduces the risk of compliance penalties for our clients.

It also helps bridge the gap between day-to-day bookkeeping and audit readiness. With seamless bank reconciliation and smooth data migration, we can finalize annual statements, prepare trial balances, and complete statutory audits much faster than before.
