"A solid cloud-native approach to virtualization"
4/5
What do you like best about SUSE Virtualization?

What I like most about SUSE Virtualization is that it feels straightforward without sacrificing the capabilities you expect from an enterprise platform. The UI is clean and makes day-to-day VM management easy, and I like that it fits naturally into a Kubernetes/cloud-native environment rather than feeling like a completely separate virtualization stack.

The integration with the SUSE ecosystem is also a big plus. From an operations perspective, having a platform that can handle both traditional VM workloads and Kubernetes workloads gives us more flexibility and reduces the number of different technologies we need to manage.

I also find the overall performance and operational simplicity valuable. It doesn't feel overly complicated to get started with, which makes onboarding and day-to-day administration easier. For me, the biggest benefit is really the combination of virtualization and cloud-native management in one platform, rather than having to maintain separate solutions. What do you dislike about SUSE Virtualization?

The main downside for me is that some areas still feel a bit rough around the edges. The platform is powerful, but when you get into troubleshooting, you sometimes need to jump between the UI, Kubernetes tooling and the underlying infrastructure to figure out what is actually happening.

Coming from a Kubernetes/SRE background, I would also like to see more operational information exposed directly in the platform. Better visibility into networking, storage and VM performance would make troubleshooting much faster.

It’s not a deal breaker, but there are definitely areas where the day-to-day experience could be more polished. Response from Nuno do Carmo of SUSE Virtualization

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your feedback, and which more specifically, which information did you find was lacking from the UI while you can get it from the API?

And which feature would you like to see coming next which could help in the troubleshooting and it's somewhat missing today?

Thanks again for your time and feedback, really appreciate it.

Nuno @SUSE
