As an experienced CFD user I dislike the following points about the software:

-Very little control over the mesh generation

-Limited turbulence models

-No transient solver

Through the use of Solidworks Flow Simulation software , I came to know that the various aspects of flow of Fluids (Liquids and Gases) with the change in various favorable as well as undesired conditions like in running vehicle the drag force exerted due to opposite air or wind is analysed very easily and accurately which helps in designing and manufacturing of the vehicle as to handle that force of drag without affecting the people sitting in the vehicle. Solidworks has a less steeper learning curve when compared to other softwares. It is easier to train people to use it. Offers a great deal of features which can be very useful for designing volumetric geometries. Also the inbuilt toolboxes offer components of multiple standards like DIN, ISO, US etc. However there are better alternatives available in the market when it comes to sheet metal design and blow moulding design.
