**What do you like best about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

Solidworks flow simulation is simple and easy to use it’s need to give very few input and it give better output too.

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

Solidworks Flow may not provide results as precise as other CAE packages like ANSYS Fluent, and its meshing capabilities may also be subpar. However, the results obtained from Solidworks Flow can serve as an initial approximation for design purposes.

I used Solidworks flow simulation in my final year college project. I used it for analysis of a part that was used in my project.

**What do you like best about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

This is integrated with the solidworks CAD software. This feature allows me to do flow simulations for my race car aero dynamics and wing design. The results are very accurate and it almost matches the level of ansys.

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

The mesh control features needs to be better. Also, its difficult to define dynamic and functional boundary conditions.

**What problems is SolidWorks Flow Simulation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to model aerofoil wings in solidworks and analyse in Ansys. Now I am able to do the whole process and optimise the design within solidworks ecosystem.

**What do you like best about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

The good thing about the SolidWorks Flow Simulation tool is that the case setup is quick and a step-by-step procedure so that any user is able to perform the simulation.

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

As an experienced CFD user I dislike the following points about the software:
-Very little control over the mesh generation
-Limited turbulence models
-No transient solver
-No motion permitted

**What problems is SolidWorks Flow Simulation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find that the SW flow simulation is only a tool for very basic cases. I have found that it works better for internal flows and is not accurate for external flows.  I usually use it instead of advanced flow solvers when the geometry is already generated in SW and I am more interested in how the flow will look like.

Flow simulation integrates directly with SOLIDWORKS as a plugin, allowing you to run simulations on your assemblies and make changes quickly based on results.

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

SOLIDWORKS does not effectively use multiple PC cores. It is best to have fast cores instead of multiple.

Prediction of drag coefficients and aerodynamic forces on assemblies. Evaluation of fluid flow through pipes.

A handy tool, go and grab it quickly. It saves your time and money.

We design irrigation drippers and then check their flow rates with flow simulation; if it is within our range, we say OK and go for RPD and mold making process. If not, I need to repeat the process once again.

Through the use of Solid works Flow simulation we can determine the various properties of fluids such as their velocity, circulation, vortex flow, density, pressure etc.

All the aspects are very good in this simulation software but it takes time to understand all the processes of various properties.

**What do you like best about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

Through the use of Solidworks Flow Simulation software , I came to know that the various aspects of flow of Fluids (Liquids and Gases) with the change in various favorable as well as undesired conditions like in running vehicle the drag force exerted due to opposite air or wind is analysed very easily and accurately which helps in designing and manufacturing of the vehicle as to handle that force of drag without affecting the people sitting in the vehicle.

There are not much drawbacks in Solidworks Flow Simulation But according to me the one thing that I dislike most is that it cannot give results about combustion or chemical reactions of gases in real life.

**What do you like best about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

Solidworks has a less steeper learning curve when compared to other softwares. It is easier to train people to use it. Offers a great deal of features which can be very useful for designing volumetric geometries. Also the inbuilt toolboxes offer components of multiple standards like DIN, ISO, US etc. However there are better alternatives available in the market when it comes to sheet metal design and blow moulding design.

Only disadvantage is that it does not have much options for sheet metal design. Also, solidworks has a relatively smaller share in certain industries which makes it difficult to migrate from one project to another.

There are better tools though it gives you the best output for volume study and implementation.

The very nice thing is that flow stimulation runs directly in the solidworks interface. Flow stimulation won't require you to setup your study from the scratch.

**What do you like best about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

It is an application created to work the intuitive simulation of the dynamics of the computational fluid which allows the advantages of the CAD environment, the capabilities of the meshes gemetrica and the automatic determination of the flow regime without sacrificing the ease of use, efficiency and effectiveness of the software , it is important to note that it gives the ability to predict the behavior of flow fields and heat transfer processes, determining the pressure drops, temperature, comfort parameters and other interactions that the fluid may have with external agents , really comes close to reality before building the equipment.


**What do you dislike about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

Among the main disadvantages that can be observed which makes me disgust sometimes is that there is not much control of the meshes, this is because the elements are tetraetric, what can be controlled really is something of size and refined, if the mesh is not well refined the result may not be well interpreted causing confusion in the interpretation of the results.
The static module does not have the option to deliver gradual loading, although this option is in the non-linear modules.

That use the tool since it is excellent for the design and simulation of mechanical systems, achieving in this way to realize innovations and improvements in the development of the prototype.

**What problems is SolidWorks Flow Simulation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With SolidWorks I have been able to make designs of heat transfer, in the conduction, convection and radiation phenomena, which allows me to simulate it and see the results before making the final design, also with the result generation allows me to see if the materials used for the design without the most adequate or require to be changed before realizing the construction of the same. The main benefit brings me the cost reduction because it prevents me from building the prototype until it has been tested in the simulation. I have solved problems of air conditioners, pirotubular boilers among others.

This has to be one of the most Innovative software packages I have ever used. If you need to demonstrate liquid flow in any type of online example you need to use the software. I needed something to simulate chemical flow and I would have never guest it would be so easy.

The interface is a little overwhelming but once you get used to it it's fine.

**What do you like best about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

Solidworks has a simple CFD add-in for doing flow simulations. It is quick to learn and less complicated than many other CFD softwares. It is good for getting a general idea of fluids behavior before diving into a deeper simulation with another software so that you don't have to spent time preparing the model if it isn't headed in the right direction in the first place. 

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

It can be difficult to get the software to accept a model geometry. It has trouble recognizing what areas in a model to use for computations if there are complex geometries, open areas, or cavities. It also gives errors without enough explanation as to problem areas in the models. It can be difficult to find where things need to be changed or what an error is really addressing.

For more complicated parts, unfortunately you will probably be better of using a more complicated software.

This software provides accurate and precise flow of gas and liquid. Using this we can compute the forces, pressure and stresses exerted on the body by the flow. Its user interface is simple and easy to use. The best part is the flow around the 3-D model is just like the real motion.

The price is a bit high. It should be a little bit cheaper inorder to acquire more users. Also sometimes results are unrealistic and contains error. Also simulation takes long time to complete.

The user interface is very easy to use. Anyone can learn to use it with the help of inbuilt tutorials in the software. Visualization is also very appealing

The results are not very accurate compared to other CAE packages like ANSYS Fluent. Meshing is also not very good. The results from Solidworks flow can be used as a first estimate for any design.

Use it only if you want a rough evaluation of how your design and to get visuals for a presentation. For more complete analysis i recommend other CAE packages like Fluent.

What I love about Solidworks flow simulation software, is that you can actually understand how is your design functioning, and work around it. We use it to build our car prototype for our university’s Supermileage group, and we could build the most competitive and efficient car prototype using the tools from the simulation and made it a dream come true! 

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

The thing I dislike, is the steep learning curve of the software. You must practice, and you will probably have (initially) a lot of errors and can be very frustrating. However, once you get it, you can be unstoppable

In our university group, we used the software to simulate how the air will go around the prototype and we could understand how to make it more aerodynamic. This way, when we built it, we already knew how the flow would affect the design and the performance on the competition we were going to

**What do you like best about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

Solid works has possibly the most intuitive UI in the 3D CAD market. Dassault System has published a great product for solid products design simulation which helps in understanding the design and process flow of different products. It's a computer aided design , modeling software for designing parts and models and total system. It has some unique and simple commands that are very helpful for designing compare to other software.

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

SolidWorks simulation is mostly not preferred in automobile and aviation industry as it lacks in some of the functionalities and also we cannot simulate large projects using solidworks.

Solid works simulation is a modern method to simulate fuids before it's actual or real life working.This simulation has a benefit because it can also works on non newtonian fluids.

There is one major disadvantage that is it cannot simulation combustion reaction reaction which is not even a controlled conbustion.

Fluid simulation is easier for blood and non Newtonian fluids.

It is very easy to set up flow simulations and it takes less time to run. It is very useful to approximate flow properties and visualize the general fluid flow in and around 3d components.

Accuracy is not as good as dedicated cfd solvers.  Has troubles with highly turbulent flows and with flow separation problems.

Fluid flow in and around luminaries and light poles. The major benefit is the ease of use as it  can be used in conjunction with other Solidworks design modules.   The solving times are short compared to other cfd tools I have used.

It is the best software for value user interface.
It can do the compressible, incompressible,internal and external flows.
It provide automatic le.inar and turbulent solutions with transition.

It can not work with phase change of the materials. It can not simulate a liquid with co-existence of different phases.

It cannot simulate phase change of material.
It also cannot perform combustion reaction.

SW FS is very easy to learn to use and if you're designing parts in SW, the workflow pipeline to CFD becomes very simple

**What do you dislike about SolidWorks Flow Simulation?**

SW FS has given very strange results. Higher camber airfoils have shown to generate less downforce. SW FS also offers little control over mesh generation and options like spinning wheels/moving roads for automotive purposes lead to bad results.

**What problems is SolidWorks Flow Simulation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SW FS allows ease of use and application for CFD simulations. SW FS is good enough for low level fluid studies where accurate results arent as important.
