## Socrative Reviews
  ### 1. Socrative Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill A. | Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I like to use mine for quizzes or tests. I have also used it for gaming such as Space Race. The program is nice for me to go back and see a record of student progress. I really like the ability to create a teacher pace quiz/test. I use this for a pretest and posttest format before and after I have taught a specific unit. Students get to see the results instantly and I can control the pace of the test.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

When I choose "Short Answer to a multi-part question, I wish I could create multiple written boxes that could be used in creating a question that has a Part A, a Part B, etc.

I wish there could be a "Matching" choice when creating a quiz.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to create an online test/quiz format for multiple classes and subjects that I teach. The benefits show up when I can change the quiz/test throughout the year based on changes in required knowledge from the state of Ohio.

  ### 2. A VERY USEFUL SERVICE

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katia Lizeth S. | General Doctor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I think that the ability to put time into each question and have a little review at the end of the question is excellent. Also that you get your answer revised almost immediately is great.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

That the questions don't have a timer or that there is no timer overall, it closes when the time is up with no warning whatsoever, which can be very stressful and disappointing.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is an incredible way to elaborate quick test to apply during class, it is entretaining and engaging for the audiences. Helps grade and evaluate the knowledge of students

  ### 3. Excellent Formative assessment app!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John F. | High School Spanish Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

The ability to use Socrative for an in class Formative assessment tool, using it for homework assignments, or using it for a test.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I can't think of one thing I dislike.
Sometimes it is difficult for me to find quiz results from a week ago, but that is more of an organizational problem for me than a problem with Socrative!

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Again, it is a great Formative assessment tool.
I recently upgraded and love the option of having multiple rooms open at the same time. I did not realize how much I would like it and have been using it

  ### 4. A very easy and free tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathalie B. | Teacher and responsible EdTech, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

The children can log in very easily and that code can not only be choses by the teacher but it also always stays the same. I also like the space race. There are enough options for creating questions and you can add pictures to questions. Creating a quiz is very quick and easy. I also like to use socrative for exit tickets. I can work with it from the iOS app or on the website. I also like the data that is generated at the end.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

There is nothing to dislike. Everything always works. We have perfect integration with Showbie. All our teachers have an account, and they hardly need the training to work with Socrative.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

Every teacher with mobile devices in the classroom should use Socrative. It is ideal for revision, checking students' understanding, exit tickets, blended learning, etc. You can easily download the results: per student and per question. Students as small as 4 years old can use it.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Socrative for several tasks: exit tickets / quick quiz with downloadable results / Blended Learning
Doing these on paper is time-consuming. That is why we love Socrative.

  ### 5. Great online tool for quick formative checks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christy J. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Easily administered. Saves all my quizzes, et. for me

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I need to maintain a Pro account in order to have additional rooms. This is money that I have to spend out of my own pocket to have a useful tool for my students.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Can have differentiated quizzes for students. Can scramble questions so there is less chance of students sharing answers.

**Official Response from Dan Rose:**

> Hi Christy! Thanks for your very positive review! We're happy to hear Socrative is helping you engage your learners.

Our Pro version of the app is packed with great features to help you take your assessments even further. We do have volume pricing available if other teachers using Socrative in your school. Give our team a shout if you're interested in learning more!

  ### 6. Must have educational tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** /상경대학 H. | Assistant professor/EFL instructor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Love the ability to monitor student progress
The pro account is worth it for the multiple rooms
Great for both online and in person classes

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I'd like a greater variety of question types available. Compared to google forms and other tools, it's pretty restricted.
Sending results by email -file size is large, the emails don't get through.
I'd like an integrated grade book, that tracks students grades across all assignments and rooms. It's tiresome to have to download and enter grades for assignments one by one.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

GIve it a go!

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Giving feedback in a class context.
Able to see which questions caused difficulties.

  ### 7. The Amazingness that is Socrative

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jami S. | High School Theatre Arts teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Ease in creating, testing, recording grades. Socrative does all of the data disaggregation for you.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Nothing. The only thing that would make this 100% perfect is if Socrative added the ability for the user to select for the questions to be read aloud for students who have accommodations. That would be so incredibly incredibly time-saving and benefical, as I currently have to create separate tests for those students.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data disaggregation, ease and efficiency, record keeping, visuals with testing, ease in combining tests,

**Official Response from Dan Rose:**

> Hi there, Jami! Thanks for the glowing review. It sounds like you're really putting Socrative to work in your class.

Thanks for the feedback on ways we can make Socrative more accessible and inclusive for learners of all abilities, and efficient for teachers. I'll pass this insight to our Product team!

  ### 8. Socrative is a a teachers dream tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I love how quickly and effectively I can assess students formally or informally! I can gain a lot of useful information using Socrative to assess what students need extra help with.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

There is nothing that I dislike about Socrative.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can assess student learning with Socrative and determine what supports or extra assistance my students need - if any.

**Official Response from Dan Rose:**

> Hey there! Thanks for the very positive review. We really appreciate the feedback on how Socrative is helping you better engage your students and making an impact in your classroom. Have a great year!

  ### 9. I love Socrative.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

It can scramble the questions and answers, and it grades the test. It also gives feedback on each question

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I wish it could do matching questions. I also would like to see a feature that would allow the students to highlight text like they can on state tests. I wish could transfer my grades to my online gradebook

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives me a tool to see which content my students are having problems with, and it helps keep my grading up

**Official Response from Dan Rose:**

> Hey there! Thanks for the review and for the feedback on question types and gradebook. I'll pass the suggestions on questions to our product team for review.

We do have some functionality to export quiz results from the 'Reports' tab in Socrative. Please contact our Support team in the app if you need a hand with this feature. We might be able to help you out there.

Thanks again for using Socrative.

  ### 10. Easy to use for instructor and students

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael K. | professor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Socrative is a great tool for in-class low-stakes formative assessment. It allows for the students to gauge their understanding and the instructor to gauge how the class is doing over all. Do they get it and can move on or do we need to re-cover some things? It is very easy to use and can be moved into and out of multiple times during the class time without disruption.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

On the administrative side, the only problem I have is that the scores cannot be bulk downloaded. You have to download each quiz separately. If you have multiple small quizzes per day then it can take a *long* time to download all of the grades into your grade book. Why is there no option to download grades from multiple quizzes at once? I'd give a 10/10 if this were resolved.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

set up the quizzes ahead of time.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem this solves is getting timely feedback to me and the students on their understanding.

  ### 11. Take Attendance and a Formative Assessment at the same time

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerardo Z. | T, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I improve time management by taking attendance and a review (check-for-understanding) of the previous discussion at the beginning of each class. I can make any assessment and assign them to several classes, as well as, with my fellow teachers as common assessments. I have built up a quiz-bank for the next school year. I love the Latex feature for writing equations in Chemistry and Physics. I also like the ability to add an image or diagram for each question or a series of questions. I like the display for students taking the test of the Socrative App more than the web-based layout.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Socrative should "refresh" with the name of students and their "Progress" as default with "Show Answers" and "Score" off. We don't want to embarrass students, who get the wrong answers, but I always need to refresh my screen to see who is not yet on the test. I want a report per student since they are preregistered uses so I can show these to parents easily.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

Best practices require teachers to continuously assess the understanding of their students as well as document growth. Students become more engaged and likely to take notes if they know there will be a check-up test in the next meeting.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Socrative, primarily, as a check-for-understanding, however, I see an improvement in student engagement, improved scientific vocabulary, as well as, more preparedness for the summative assessment.

  ### 12. A very useful and robust classroom tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric L. | Teacher of High School Math, Statistics and Computer Science, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

One of the very best things about Socrative is its flexibility, it works really well as an assessment tool , an in-class practice tool, and as an out-of-class practice tool for my students. It has proved especially valuable for this year's remote teaching. The randomization feature for order of questions/answers means I have a lot of confidence that my assessments are producing valid results. When I use it as an in-class practice tool, it ensures that every student is participating. I can easily send the in-class sessions out to students at the end of class, where they can act as study guides and reminders of topics and concepts that they need to work on more.

Since it is fully web-based students can use it with equal success on pretty much any kind of computer, tablet, phone, etc., wherever they happen to be.

I like that it is pretty easy to set up specific classes in specific rooms with password security. This allows a granular distribution of materials, for example, two or more groups in the same class can get different questions or be allowed different amounts of time to finish.

I very much like that the creators of Socrative regularly communicate with the users through the web interface, asking for feedback and letting us know about pending changes and improvements.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Socrative is very well designed and implemented, both from user interface and a data management perspectives, so I can't say there is anything about it that I actively dislike. That said, of course there are many ways it could be improved, hence 9 stars out of 10. I know they are actively working on several major improvements, such as adding more question types and continuing to adjust small but significant details in the user interface such as more flexibility when using images or videos . Going forward I would love to see the ability to add randomized numbers and automated computation of correct answers to math questions, more flexibility in assigning partial credit, and perhaps some form of branching type questions.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This year, with remote learning, I am solving the problems of remotely assessing my student's understanding of the material, and being sure that they are engaged the material during class periods. The major benefit I have realized is feeling secure that I have been able to fairly and accurately measure my student's progress and understanding of the concepts and skills in my course. This is not limited to remote learning. I have used Socrative to realize these benefits for several years before this one, and I will continue to use it in the same manner when students are all able to physically return to the classroom.

  ### 13. Instant feedback (among other features) increases effectiveness of teaching

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew R. | teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Where to start. It is super easy to create, assess, and share with Socrative. The variety of options for equation and answer types.

If I had to pick one thing, I think being able to see student responses and their correctness in real time is the best thing. This allows me to modify the lesson instantly based on student understanding and lets students see how well they really understand the material!

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Students only see final grade. They can't see individual question results on socrative.com unless I email the results to them. If they could see their individual question results when I end the quiz that would be awesome.

A question bank option would be great so I can make 20 question and each student gets 5 different questions.

A timer on assignments would be great so once I start it they only have a certain amount of time to finish it.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me instant feedback about how my students are performing. I use it for warm-ups almost every day so students and I can get quick, accurate feedback about their understanding, saving me hours of grading only to provide feedback after we haved moved on or after bad habits have already developed.

  ### 14. Best Way to assess online.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** MATTHEW M. | 6th Grade Social Studies Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I use it all of the time. I find that it is the best way (for me) to seamlessly review and conduct assessments in my classes.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I experimented with the paid version to limit the number of times that a student can take an assessment. It is a little bulky. I mean there has to be a separate code for each class. I wish there was a way to use my one room, and assess everyone once without having to create student profiles. Students can't always take the assessment in the given time frame, and sometimes they use different names.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

I always speak highly of this platform, and recommend it whenever possible.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Socrative to compile my SGO data for the state of NJ.
I have used my data to modify my teaching strategies, consult with parents, and deliver near instantaneous feedback for my students, which has been amazing.

  ### 15. An almost perfect experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabián C. | Mentor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

The platform is user-friendly, so whoever wants to design a test will find it easy to do so. Personally, I enjoy designing tests using pictures, and Socrative lets us do so although it would be much better if we could upload gif format files. Another great feature is the rooms: one can add students and personalise their access to the platform by assigning Student ID's.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

In many occasions, students write correct answers in open questions, but the platform does not accept the answers. While monitoring the activity, there's no chance to make any change, so one has to wait until the test is finished. Then one can make any changes in the Excel report; however, students receive their reports with lower grades as corrections couldn't be made on the spot.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

If you want to make the most of the platform, go pro. It allows you to create different rooms for more personalised testing.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Socrative has helped me reduce time for correction and get my students become familiar with the platform features which is important as we use this platform in both formative and summative assessment.

  ### 16. Socrative Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ross B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Tests with pictures- when you print or export them they are beautiful.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Testing is easy and you can share the tests.

  ### 17. Excellent tool for formative assessment

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tobias W. | Science teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

It's very quick and easy to write quizzes and to administer them. It's great for identifying difficult topics and/or confusing concepts that the students need more help with.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

It works very well for multiple choice but perhaps not as well for more open-ended questions. I haven't really explored using it for open-ended questions as much anyway. It might be helpful to sync each quiz to my google classroom so I could more easily track student progress in each class I teach.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The instant feedback about students' misconceptions and/or areas they find tricky is excellent. It's great for spotting things that need to be retaught. I like that it keeps the reports as well although I only just discovered this excellent feature very recently! These reports are useful for tracking individual student progress.

  ### 18. Great free product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Libraries | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Easy polling for a classroom setting. Doesn't require and additional signin for students and provides an easy interface.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

There's really nothing I dislike. It would be nice if you could interface it with some kind of grading software, but it's really unnecessary.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

Perfect platform for polling.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I always wanted to have polling in my classroom, but other programs required too much setup. Socratic is the height of convenience. It's also very handy for taking attendance.

  ### 19. The Best Testing Platform For Trainers Around The World

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gary M. | Senior IT Trainer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

The Ease of use of the Socrative Platform

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I wouldn't say I dislike anything, but I would like additional things added to the platform:

1. The ability to Download A Quizzes Answer Key on the Dashboard Page.
2. The ability to Boot' a student from the quiz.
3. The ability to Have Multiple Quizzes Running in multiple rooms concurrently.
4. The ability to Host a Feedback Session Individually or as a Class.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

Create one quiz and then run the quiz yourself on your smartphone using the student login, but view the results in real-time via your laptop/desktop using the 'Teacher' login.

This will show you just how easy the Socrative Platform is to use.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Formative and Summative testing and competency testing with my students.

  ### 20. Great, Simple, & User Friendly Academic Assessment Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James W. | Junior High Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

My favorite part of Socrative is how easy it is for the students to both start the quiz and to actually use it. The students actually enjoy being assessed and interact with the material with Socrative.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I understand and appreciate the simplistic approach Socrative has implemented. However, I do wish that there were more advanced options for creating quizzes. For example, the ability to reorder options on multiple choice questions or to be able to reuse questions from other quizzes.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem I have solved is that my time spent on grading assessments has been reduced by 90%. This allows me to focus more on the students. Also, being able to evaluate class performance with all the different result and report views is very valuable.

  ### 21. Great for tracking student knowledge and immediate progress.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I love every feature they provide for formative assessments. It's instant grading for multiple choice makes grading easy. I like that I can pace students or allow them to complete it in their own time when there is a roster, which is great for providing extended time when a student needs it outside of the class period.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I would like to be able to provide student feedback individually to comment on their responses and allow learning to take place after they submit their responses (or while it's in session). I would like to be able to turn on/off student paced mode (ex. I pace student through a "quiz" and as a daily journal prompt but then open it up at the end of the week to allow them to go back and edit or respond to questions missed if they were absent. This is helpful especially in the remote or blended setting when you don't see students face to face. Audio feedback from the teacher would be great as well.

I would like a daily attendance feature (clock in/out)

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

Love the rostering ability in rooms. I created rooms for students on an IEP to provide reduced distractors. Easy to manage many students at once.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I know who is on at the exact moment.

  ### 22. Effective Assessment Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy D. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I love how I can make my tests unique to what I need and how easy it is to get the results and monitor my students' progress.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I have a few wish list items:

* Being able to make a copy of the tests with an answer key.

* Being able to make an individual classroom where I can add and delete students even while a test is taking place. With so many of my students going back and forth from a traditional blended situation and schedule changes, it was a bit of a nightmare. I do not like to leave tests open longer than a class hour to monitor their progress and to check for cheating.

*When a student enters a test it locks them from being able to open any other tabs. I am not sure if this is possible but thought I would throw it out there.

*If the test could read the questions and answer options to the students.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

This has been useful in not only building and modifying my classroom tests but also useful in getting the results and grades back to my students and their parents in a timely manner.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to create personalized tests that fit the information I am teaching and I can modify them to meet student needs.

  ### 23. Socrative for Virtual Learning

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I love that I am able to see that my students are logged in and how they are progressing on assignments. I also like the option of providing feedback for questions. This has been especially helpful if I have used an assignment as a study guide for an upcoming exam.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I wish there was an option, especially with the Pro account, that you could run more than one class at a time. There have been a couple of times that I am giving a test in Socrative and students did not finish before my next class started, and I had to end the assignment to move on. This would be especially useful for the few asynchronous days that we have. I could launch an assignment for all four of my classes at the same time.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving how to administer quizzes and tests to students while teaching virtually. I like that I can tell if students are actually logged in and see where they are on the quiz or test. I can also get an idea of any questions that students are struggling with.

  ### 24. Amazing Online Real-Time Assessment Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I love the ability to see real time data on quizzes. It allows me the opportyunity to provide help to each individual student in the moment, instead of waiting until the quiz is complete. I also enjoy the ability for students to log in using their own account ID and password. The way questions are presented is very accomodating to students, with one question displayed at a time and the ability to see which questions they have completed from the task bar at the bottom.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I wish there was a time-limit feature for quizzes on pro-accounts. I'd love the ability to set a time limit for students once they have logged in to the quiz.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to see the most-missed questions instantly help me decide which topics need further review. Also, with the digital age we are in with education, I am able to give tests to students who are on campus and those working from home.

  ### 25. Socrative - great for basic assessments--could use a bit more.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I like how easy it is to export the quizzes, share the quizzes and watch as students are working on the assignments.

It is easy for students to navigate the site and to complete assessments.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

That you cannot set a time frame for the quiz to open or close.

It would also be nice to have timestamps as to when the student(s) log in and log out of the program. Higher accountability.

It is also a shame that you cannot add audio files to the questions.

I am a language teacher and teach remotely. Both these features are necessary for me.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

This is a great program for basic in-person assessment on computers. It is good that the app more or less locks the students onto the program so they cannot go to other sites. It is easy to learn how to use with minimal down time. The quick return/response time is great from when a class finishes an assessment and you can mail it out to the just as quickly.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Socrative is wonderfully stable so I can give quizzes and if/when a student loses their internet connection, they can join back in without losing their progress.

Socrative is also easy to use. There is a low learning curve for the students to getting used to the program.

  ### 26. Love Socrative!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Easy for me to use, and my students enjoy it. It offers a quick way to check learning, it is easy to poll students or get them to anonymously vote on winners in debates, for example, by using a multiple choice of GOV or OPPS. I use it also to solidify my students' learning, as I will run practice versions of quizzes and they can retake them repeatedly and learn the information in advance of a test for marks. I can also share tests easily, or import tests from other teachers.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I really wish the tests could be copied over from Google Forms using Google Sheets. Some of my tests must be on my district's controlled Chromebooks, and Google Forms allows me to lock the tests when those devices are used. If I could copy a test of mine from Socrative over to Google Forms, it would make my life much easier. I don't like Google Forms AT ALL. It doesn't allow Space Races, or even number the questions that I put in. I actually find it difficult because Google Forms seems to automatically adds the OTHER answer choice when I put in Multiple Choice, and I don't want that. Google Forms is hateful. So, I would continue to use Socrative except in those testing circumstances. Would you folks reconsider allowing us to download (or upload) quizzes in Google Sheets or Excel format, as you once did? Any crossover there would be so good.

Within Socrative itself, it would also be awesome to quickly merge existing tests. So, for example, if I have a test on Act 1 and another test on Act 2 of the same play, if I could join those two tests that would be wonderful. Currently, I have to make a copy of one, typically Act 1, and then retype all of the information. An option to merge existing tests into a third copy would be lovely. Merging more than 2 would be even better.

Allowing the teacher to turn on or off a voice-over option, for just specific students, would also be a benefit. This would simplify the process for students with learning disabilities. However, they have devices that would allow that, so it is not a huge issue.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enhanced learning for all students, online learning solutions, all the benefits I have mentioned in my review.

  ### 27. Great Assessment Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Socrative a good variety of ways to assess the students. Being able to watch their performance live has been a great during these days of remote instruction and letting me know if students are actively working on the assessment or if they are perhaps struggling in need guidance. Also, unlike other assessment tools, if I close out a particular assessment because time is up, Socrative records all student work without the student having to click on a submit button.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Two areas that Socrative with find a way to include in their options for questions. One is a matching feature and the second an automatic time function so that after the alloted time is complete the assessment is automatically ended.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When my school went remote, as part of the IT team, we had to think of ways to provide tools that teachers can use that was easy to use and effective. A number of teachers who have never done online assessment before love the ease of use and the results reports that they get with Socrative. It was a life saver for teachers new to the online learning world.

  ### 28. Socrative is Our Number One Assessment Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Socrative's live feedback is the best tool to meet students' needs. I love that as they take their assessments, I can ask for them to review their work and that produces far more learning. It's very consistent (not glitchy) and easy to use. The kids like that they can improve their score by getting feedback from the teachers before submitting their test.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

It would be great if we could have questions for a passage without having to post the passage to every single question. That's how we get around the kids not having to go back to only one question and then coming back to the question that they were trying to answer. I wish you also had more question choices than multiple choice, TF or short response. I wish you had graphic organizers that could be filled in, draggable items, click on an item, matching items, insertion of a sound clip or video clip, essay responses with rubric. In math, I wish that they could insert a picture of their work along with their multiple choice answer so that we can easily grade digitally and verify that they didn't find the answer online. It's a lot to ask, but we love your program! We would love for it to be all that it could be.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are teaching our kids to go back and review their work. Kids start caring about their grade when they know that they have the opportunity to make corrections on the spot. Waiting days before handing back a paper test now feels so obsolete. The way of the future is to give instant feedback. We do it while they test.

  ### 29. Easy, interactive and gamificative way of verifying knowledge

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luisa D. | Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Easy to manage; reuse quizzes; sharable tests; access and visibility of reports; the possibility of respect the student's identity when showing results; rosters; shuffling questions and answers; space race.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Not a dislike but something that will be very useful: different types of exercises, such as matching sentences or fill spaces, with dragable elements.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to verify students learning and get them involved in the activities. It´s very efficient in evaluate the average of the class on short answers and get several exercises to help them on solving the difficulties they stil have.

  ### 30. Online evaluations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul K. | Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Creating separate rooms, exportable data, randomizing questions, creating personalized answer keys for review.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Would like to see more options to incorporate media into questions.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

evaluating students electronically especially during the pandemic.

  ### 31. Great for one class at a time.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I like that I can assess students easily, get reports, and teach students to self pace.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I wish I could assign more than one task to a class at a time. When I have hybrid students, it makes for a long day. Elementary students need varying lengths of time to take tests. If I have multiple tests to give (as in Fridays), I can not launch more than one test at a time. I find there is too much lag time for most of my students.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The fact that I can send a task to a student who is home--maybe due to a family appointment, etc. That helps when the child returns to class and can engage right away without having to "make up" more work.

  ### 32. Great resource for bell work when students enter the classroom.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Ability to store and reuse previous quiz

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I can't assign multiple classes with 1 cli

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

Great resource for the classroom. I wish you could move students from one class to the next, instead of deleting the student and re-typing their information in the class they moved to. You also, cannot edit the team with a quiz is live. This makes it difficult to add new students when others are working on the quiz. Every morning I have to assign the same 5 quizzes for 5 different class periods. I wish I could assign this with 1 click. I wish they had a math generator that would generate computation problems (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing).

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving math problems and loving the immediate feedback.

  ### 33. Overall positive - missing a few important options though as a foreign language teacher

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frank C. | Teacher German Language, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

The easy import options for all question types but the open-ended ones

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

The fact that the correction-options are not case sensitive
The fact that for the open-ended questions the correct answer cannot be entered in the excel format

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

The learning curve is not steep at all - it will be very helpful if you quickly learn how to import questions for a quiz

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily check the progress of my students concerning the subjects we are dealing with in our (online) lessons

  ### 34. Fantastic

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Socrative has been a tool for me that has allowed me to evaluate my students effortlessly.
It has been a great support at the moment of capturing their attention through the learning games implemented in space Race.
The feedback that we can give the student about their performance in a few minutes.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Socrative is a very versatile tool, but I would add a timer to quizzes to train you for international exams where time is limited.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The time it took me to score a quiz has been reduced since everything is automated. As soon as I finish the exam, I get the grade. Fabulous.

  ### 35. Love socrative

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John J. | Teacher/Director of Secondary Academic Affairs, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Easy way to give quizzes through devices

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Could not change the answer once a quiz started (for instance is you forgot to mark an answer, you couldnt mark the answer while they were taking the quiz so socrative would properly grade that question)

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

I think that for a teacher, the pro version makes the most sense

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our school is a iPad school and socrative allows me to quiz and test through socrative

  ### 36. Fast response to quiz questions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Students can see if they are correct on quiz and test questions. When they are incorrect, that immediate feedback helps them to make note of necessary changes to make.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

With Zoom school, technology is needed everyday. I do prefer in person learning. I plan to keep my tests in paper format, but to use quizzes for weekly vocabulary and for review.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

A great tool for teaching in an off site or hybred model.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Students have less of an opportunity to cheat. I appreciate the options to vary the answers and/or the questions. Although it takes more time to set up a quiz or test, grading is FAST!

  ### 37. Great improvements!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I like the features that allow the teacher to add visuals to their questions, and its easier to read the feedback features when I edit the quiz to see what corrections are still needed. The icons are easier to understand when editing a quiz.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

When adding a new student to the Room, that feature needs explanations when you are adding more than 1 student at a time.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

The Socrative Program is easy to use and my students really liked the Space Race game which I used during class to review the concepts that were taught in class. I used the Space Race feature many times before the Pandemic shut down our schools. Can use Space Race feature during Distance Learning.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Just when I add more than 1 student at a time, the steps needed to do this feature take some adjusting to use.

  ### 38. Socrative Great Tool for Any Teacher

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa C. | Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I can create tests for my students and Socrative not only scores it, but also provides lots of additional data.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

A downside to Socrative is only being able to launch one quiz at a time per room. I would love to be able to launch multiple quizzes per room.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I get immediate feedback and know if my students understood the lesson or need additional help.

  ### 39. Outstanding product that provides data-driven feedback

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

The ability to see collective data in real time. I use Socrative for daily bell work, to prime my students for the discussions that we will be having in class and, using exit tickets, to check for understanding at the end of class.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I would like to have a broader range of activities -- matching, chronological order activities, mapwork.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing AP students with the opportunity to explore and incorporate large amounts of content at school and at home. Students are seeing greater agency in using the sets to check their knowledge and push their thinking in anticipation of the AP exam.

  ### 40. Using Socrative in 4th Grade.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karl N. | Classroom Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

The most helpful part of Socrative is that the test or quiz is graded for you.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Printing off the quizzes to hand them back to students.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

Socrative is a great way to give tests and quizzes. Students can login with their own password and Socrative grades the test or Quiz for you.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Less time to grading, quick and easy to change a question.

  ### 41. Overall great, but locking a quiz to a room would be helpful.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan R. | Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I like being able to set up rooms and upload rosters so students are in the room already.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I wish there was the ability to have a quiz assigned to a room. That way if you want to continue to launch that same quiz repeatedly in the room, you wouldn't have to look through the whole list of quizzes.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm allowing students to take assessments when they feel they are ready to take them. This is a great opportunity to allow students to work at their pace.

  ### 42. Time Saver, for Sure!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Grading assessments is a breeze. Very quick and easy to do quick-checks and formative assessments in the classroom.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Students are not able to type math equations for answers. If I need this feature I have to make the quiz multiple choice and I do not like that.
Also, spaces should not count when an answer is marked right or wrong. If an answer is x=7 and a student types x = 7 with spaces, the answer is marked wrong. That's a pain.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grading is much faster

  ### 43. Great tool!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I like that it saves the student progress and that it allows me to see their progress in real-time which gives me the opportunity to address any misconception on the student's part or, on my instructions.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Not being able to update the answer key and have it reflect on the Quiz students are currently taking.
Limited choices on types of questions (but I love the ones you have).
Not being able to assign different point value to different questions.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Testing online and in-person.

  ### 44. Review for Socrative

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna P. | Visiting Lecturer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Easy to work with, fairly sensible cost.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

No option of time limit and no option for marking/ flagging questions, that not yet have been answered.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

Easy to use, easy to navigate! Would recommend.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feedback from students, conducting tests and exams.

  ### 45. Great tool, but has limits

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I love the user interface and ease of entering questions, especially with pictures. I love the real time results screen for student progress monitoring.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I would like to be able to reuse questions on different assessments. If we could store the questions we write into our own bank or be able to copy questions from a previous assessment, that would be a huge time saver.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Socrative for classroom formative assessments during remote learning.

  ### 46. It's awesome.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

So easy to use and setup. Pass back is a breeze via email. Easy for parents and students to understand.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

No ability to track individual student progress. No data on how long students took to take the quizzes. Lack of variety for possible responses (can you a way for students to draw an answer, mix and match, graph an answer, etc.)

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My students love taking quizzes on socrative because they are so easy.

  ### 47. Best tool for E@D

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paula O. | Professora, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

The possibility of using Socrative either for formative assessment or for formative assessment.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I would like there to be a shared database (access to other socratives).

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Formative assessment.
Reading check.

  ### 48. Socrative Experiences

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bonnie C. | Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I like the ability to create and grade my quizzes on line and the fact that the questions are randomized if you desire.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I dislike the way you return the quizzes...too many steps....need to be able to have one step returning of quizzes to students.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The monotonous grading of multiple choice is taken care of and with COVID not having to collect papers has been a key.

  ### 49. Review of Socrative

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Socrative allows different formats for quizzes, and very flexible on how to create your answer choices.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I don’t necessarily dislike, but would wish Socrative will revise the Teacher Pace testing, to mark or tag individual students for this feature instead of always by default the whole class of students.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for Math Drills, various testing and/or quizzes for numerous subject areas.

  ### 50. Very practical tool for teaching

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

It's practical. I can asses my students right after teaching a subject to find out if they have undestood the lesson. Also practical for tests.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

When I review the anwers with my students I have to keep turning on the studentes name and anwser in every question reviewed.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

quick assesment and filling time in class specially when teaching online.
