I mainly use Smartlook on my own to stay aware of how people interact with the internal portal our QA team relies on. It helps me see who visits, how they navigate, and what actions they take. **What do you like best about Smartlook?**

I like the best about Smartlook is that it helps me easily create heat maps and thus receive visual analytics of user behavior on our website, for example where user drop-off happens, etc. I use this everyday at work to see how users are using our website, which button are they clicking on, which button they are skipping, it helps me as a PM to make informed UI/UX decisions.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

There is not much that I dislike about Smartlook however I would say that they can improve their UI/UX to make it more easy to use and more straightforward, also they can improve dashboard analytics.

**What problems is Smartlook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main business problem that Smartlook is solving is that we have no visibility to what the user is doing on their end on our website and hence Smartlook gives us visibility into user behavior on our website.I use this everyday at work to see how users are using our website, which button are they clicking on, which button they are skipping, it helps me as a PM to make informed UI/UX decisions.

**What do you like best about Smartlook?**

Smartlook is easy to use and has a free usage option. I track users who visit my website several times a week. The feature of viewing user movements at a higher speed saves time. It doesn't put too much load on the website.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

The downside is that it only keeps a 1-month tracking record when used for free. It's also more difficult to create a heat map than other similar applications, and the created heat map remains active for a short time and then deactivates automatically.

It helps me make my website better by showing me how users interact with my website, where are the pain points, and sections I need to improve.

Smatlook has a simple UI and is easy to set up, we are able to do custom heatmaps, funnels and other things that help us understand our users  - and potential users so we don't have to guess when we are making decisions.

It became cumberrsome to use and there were various issues. Price was also a concern, so we moved to MS Clarity recently.

You will get all the user screen screen recordings. It's best for designers and PMs. It will also help you identify bugs and you can search specific users via custom user id. 
Heatmap is also of great use.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

Sometimes it's slow. The player UI can be improved. It doesn't offer bulk search based on user ids

**What problems is Smartlook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartlook is providing realtime user recordings. It is helpful to observe how users are behaving on mobile screens and what can be improved to give a better experience. It's of a great help for journey identification. It can give you journey distribution. We have identified multiple bugs through this, which would be impossible to identify without screen recordings.

**What do you like best about Smartlook?**

The most helpful feature of Smartlook is that it makes it easier for us to analyze user activities behavior on our webpages. It helps us to improve the user interface and user experience on our website.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

There is nothing much to dislike about Smartlook, but there are few things that needs to be improved for sure, like the filter options, error explanation and user interface. The filters should have more options like country and state selection to check the users interacting from our targeted locations. Second is error explanation. Sometimes the error does not properly explains what actually happened and what we need to improve. And the third is user interface. User interface might be difficult for the new users.

**What problems is Smartlook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The major problem that Smartlook is solving for me is that we can see the session replay and check what a user from our targeted location has done in our website. Sometimes it happens that a user tries to submit the contact form, but face some technical problems and leave the site. Smartlook help us to check that and fix that problem. Also it help us to reach out to that user through the email or phone number that they were trying to submit through the form.

it is very easy to use, i got introduced to it when i joined the company in march, and i picked it up and learned very fast, like in a week. as a designer, it helps me to the user behavior very well.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

sometimes all sessions are not properly recorded, there are glitches, hangs or some screen are just not shown, although it is not frequent but yes this happens. one more frustration is that sometimes sessions are not recorded of nearly happened session like an hours ago or two hour ago, but smartlook does not tell upfront that these sessions are not well recorded but we have to check all one by one and find out that they are not well recorded.

Getting to know user behavior, their reaction on every screen. i also get to know the behavior and trigger on every screen as Smartlook provides me the heatmaps on the screen based on user clicks. i can see on which button users are clicking, on which text or banner they are clicking, and what their reaction was on every screen. this helps me re-iterate the flow and screen for the users. Behaviour funnels helps me in figuring out how users are reacting on every step of the funnel.

We liked the effectiveness Smartlook's platform has when it comes to having a daily follow-up of the behavior that the audience ends up having on each of our websites. It has tools to record in real time the actions visitors are having in our networks, and Smartlook does everything discreetly and efficiently. We love that it has a deep analysis management that allows us to visualize comfortably the criteria that the audience of our services may be having through our social networks, and in this way, we can address each requirement that we have and significantly improve where there are failures that at the moment we did not see and thanks to Smartlook we know it, in this way we can provide the audience with a more dynamic and pleasant experience on our websites.

So far, we must recognize that there are very few dislikes as such that we have of the Smartlook platform compared to the benefits it has brought to our organization. However, I consider it essential to note that they should make an update where they pay attention and look for an improvement to the heat map tool since its efficiency is not the best and tends to present inconveniences. Another minor annoyance we had is that we can not massively export data, which has become a big problem for our organization.

Smartlook helps us obtain detailed information about the users that visit our websites in such a way we can track by video the actions of the visitors in a discreet, flattering and efficient manner. I like its dashboard; it has a good design and is customizable; it allows us to track what happens on our website comfortably and efficiently; the best thing is that it works in real-time. Through Smartlook's analytics, we have been able to determine critical factors in our website, such as which modules are the most frequented by visitors, from where they access the website, discover problems that may be facing our visitors and solve them as soon as possible to create a more comfortable user experience for visitors.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

The only thing I liked least about Smartlook is that the heat maps are somewhat tricky.

Smartlook helps me understand my website traffic and identify places to improve for the purpose of user experiences. This helps me better manage my personal project.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

Sometimes there are technical/server issues to me, probably like Chrome doesn't work and all the information is just keep loading. Once I switch over to other browsers, they typically work.

**What do you like best about Smartlook?**

Ease of capturing the entire screen and the ability to tag/comment at specific time frames for my dev team to take a look at the issues. They capture rage clicks quite well. All the sessions from the same IP/same user across days are captured and grouped, and it helps to get a holistic picture of what happened in the user journey.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

When I was using Smartlook, they didn't have any capabilities to integrate with Clevertap/Google Analytics. I had to go through my funnels in GA/CT and identify the date, time, device and possible step/event in the flow where the users are dropping. Then go to Smartlook, and filter by date and device to figure out the potential users who dropped and guess why.

**What problems is Smartlook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartlook was one of the critical tools used in my product to study user behaviour and improve user journeys. It was pivotal in enhancing some of the user onboarding flows. Smartlook also became a good source of truth for product decisions and also user interviews.

**What do you like best about Smartlook?**

SmartLook provides an indepth look at a customer's journey. I love being able to use their username/url to find their instances and the fact they are all linked together. It is very straightforward. The heat map tool is also really cool to look use and see which areas our customers spend the most time on.

The operating system can lag a bit.  I also would like a way to flag a little bit easier, especially putting flags at pinpoints in the user experience. It would be great to see continued improvement to the heat mapping as well.

The highlight of this software is that it records each of the activities and movements of each user who enters the website and performs a series of analyses, such as sentiment analysis, behavioral analysis and funnel analysis, which allow us to recognize the flaws of our page, the sections that are most liked, the sections where users stop for longer and where they do not generate any interest, thus creating strategies that help us to attract more users and traffic to our page.

I would like to be able to export the videos and not just watch them from the application, I would also love that its interface was simpler, to have better organized all the tools and to make better use of them. Smartlook has been an invaluable tool in so many respects. One of the best features, of course, is its session recording, which is incredibly helpful when supporting our site's users, as we're able to better diagnose exactly what went wrong and guide them in completing their intended action. It's also immensely helpful in diagnosing bugs (particularly with the console features), understanding how users are interacting with new features, and more. Aside from this, the data analytics with heat maps, funnels, and key event tracking helps us understand usage and prioritize our next product steps. The support team has been very helpful in getting us quickly set up as well as in maintaining success. All of this at a very fair market rate (we used to use FullStory, which was good, but their pricing jumped significantly and with fewer features/less value than SmartLook, in our experience).

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

We've had some trouble at times getting Segment to speak consistently to SmartLook's platform, but it seems to be more of a Segment issue than a SmartLook issue. We've been able to work around that by pairing our event tracking directly from our platform to SmartLook.

**Recommendations to others considering Smartlook:**

Honestly, it was kind of a no-brainer given the fullness of their feature set and price point compared with competitors. The only thing is that it doesn't always play nicely with Segment but I think that's a Segment issue, not SmartLook. We've had the same issue with Segment and other tools.

SmartLook helps us solve bugs, features not being used/interacted with as intended, and even just issues of misdiagnosing problems. When you can't see, you don't have the full picture. SmartLook helps eliminate blindspots so that we can build the best product possible to fully meet our users' needs. As a result, we're building a better product more efficiently.

Useful for analyzing user behavior for Apps. I knew other tools that work well for websites but Smartlook has an advantage for apps. My projects very organized from the beginning and filtering properties works just fine. It didn't create unnecessary load in the app and integration was really easy. Smartlook support team assited me for every single of my problems.

Behavior Flow feature could be more customizable.  Sometimes there were performance issues and small bugs that got in my way. Android resolution was bad compared to iOS. Could be nice to compare projects across platforms.

The best part of the tool is the way we can review the customer's on-screen navigation throughout the time they are on your website. I have never witnessed a tool doing this apart from screen capture.

We would need IP address as a mandatory field to search. Instead, we should be able to search recordings by customers account names and info within API integration to customers databases in the commerce cloud.

If you are an e-commerce business and you need to understand how customers navigate and experience the journey on your website end-to-end. This is the best tool in the market. We can easily assist customers with their queries related to the shopping experience as we can see what is the exact issue they are facing. Also, data analytics is out of the word. The heatmap is the best feature to understand the most heat spots on your webpages and helps us to identify and work on areas on the page that needs improvement.

I dislike that mobile app setup is more challenging than web but this is typical and not really a Smartlook problem.

Often bugs reported can not be recreated, but now we can use Smartlook to see what happened, allowing us to resolve the issue. We've also been able to set up multiple booking funnels / flows to understand better why users are dropping off and we have used this to see how new functionality might impact conversions. Another great use case is using screenshots of the videos to fight credit card chargebacks.

The best parts of Smartlook for me are: 1) That I can see what the user actually saw most of the time. With other software, there are styling issues and I know that what I am seeing is not what the user actually saw. 2) The multiple filters that are available to find specific sessions. 3) That Smartlook makes it easy to see what happened, when, and how. 4) That it seems to be very precise about the user location.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

The processing of sessions takes a bit too long to be completed. The software itself is a bit slow compared to other programs. Sometimes there are styling issues, although less often than with other software. Some sessions are missed, but I think this can happen with any session recording software.

We haven't had this level of insight from our mobile customers, ever. We are now able to have access to seeing how our customers use our mobile app, which helps us find bugs more quickly as well as validate design very quickly.

I wish we could track errors. I would also like to have a map like Google Analytics has to see where all active or completed sessions are taking place. The program is already capturing IP addresses and telling us where people are.

We use React Native. In order to track anything meaningful in the app we had to flag each specific component. This took some time to get right but is necessary with React Native, especially since that's how RN functions.

Smartlook is a very complete solution and at a very economical price to analyze our users and the usability of our eCommerce site.

Thanks to him (and some popcorn packages) we see the browsing sessions of our clients to find ways to improve the conversion rates and the bounce in the ecommerce of Denox clients.

Integration is a very simple piece of code that with little knowledge can be done in programming. Also if they use GTM containers it is even easier. We have been using it with several eCommerce for months after having used other solutions on the market such as hotjar and for us Smartlook wins especially.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

I miss that with Smartlook I could easily categorize Test A / B on my sites and see those screen recordings. I do it with another tool

I used the integration SDK in Android, and I loved that it is easy to use, and the interface where we can see the heat maps is unique. It is elementary to use since it is very intuitive because anyone who has not used Smartlook can adapt very fast. After all, it is a very indispensable tool since it cannot help with heat maps, so we can improve the user experience to be able to pay more attention to where users use an app the most. Another thing that I loved is that we can also integrate the SDK on iOS devices.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

What I did not like at all was that in iOS, we had to make some changes to make the SDK work correctly, but thanks to the documentation, we could solve that issue so that it could work on both platforms correctly. Something else that I did not like at all was that it has a delay to be able to see the videos in the administrator.

**Recommendations to others considering Smartlook:**

My recommendation is that you use the trial version. There you will realize that Smartlook is what you are looking for since with its heat maps, the events that can be scheduled, and the security that it handles, you will be able to succeed in what you are looking for as it has a very innovative design and very easy to understand since everything is very friendly from the colors to the buttons in the administrator.

The problems that I was able to solve was knowing where the users of the application spent more time using the heat maps. The benefits that I saw were the interface is very interactive and that I can add more than one project, and I can have one in the development environment and the production environment. The fact that you can review exactly what a user experienced in your app by watching the video attached to the session, followed by the feedback within the events and rage clicks linked to the user's actions.
This app also provides event and analytics that improve the realization of the user journey inside your app, helping it funnel and discover the weakenesses you have to improve and the strengths you must keep. 
It's friendly UI makes it easy to navigate and understand what is going on while reviewing a user journey.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

As a mobile app developer, sometimes while reviewing a user session on an app that loaded in portrait mode Smartlook forces the session video to open in landscape mode so it gets pixeled very heavily and gets a bit hard to understand what's going on.

On the other hand, Smartlook is based on a web application and I wish there was more feedback with hybrid apps and their screens.

**Recommendations to others considering Smartlook:**

At first if you want to use analytics be aware and organize what you want to measure and where do you want to setup the events in your app, after you finish this, you can now understand what's gonna happen in the analytics inside Smartlook.
Also be aware that if you are reviewing a user journey of a mobile app it can have glitches with the screen orientation and events, other than that if works just fine!

I figured out some bugs inside a UX process in my app while watching exactly what the user did to cause said error. I have accomplished to notice where my final users were getting stuck and where did they hesitate on their next actions by watching their behaviour. I've also been able to fix internal code erros with the events debug Smartlook offers on mobile apps. As of benefits, you get to live the users experience and watch how the common user react to your design.

On the other hand, I've been able to funnel my users through events and analytics provided by Smartlook in a very efficient way.

**What do you like best about Smartlook?**

Smartlook enables you to see how individual users engage on your site. It shows session recordings that you can filter to display specific pages or funnels. It has an easy-to-use interface. You can click on elements on your pages (e.g., a form or a button) to set up an event to record how users engage with it. It has a helpful share functionality, and the support I have received has also been fantastic.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

I would recommend using Smartlook to complement other analytics tools such as Google Analytics. Smartlook only records user journeys once they are on the site and doesn't show any acquisition data.

**Recommendations to others considering Smartlook:**

I would recommend that you consider Smartlook as an on-page Analytics tool. When I enquired, I had a lengthy Zoom call to go through the product features. After the purchase, the online support has been excellent.

**What problems is Smartlook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have used Smartlook to assess what impact copy changes or functionality changes have had. We have set up specific funnels for essential user journeys, such as the registration funnel, to monitor how users interact with that process. We have shared heatmaps with other members of the team so we can review the performance of pages. We have increased the conversion rates on our platform through the Smartlook data.

Our website is so much better with the help of Smartlook. We offer users an interface that’s better suited to their needs. We found that using this technology. We were able to improve our user retention and keep people on our website for longer. This means that, over time, a user learns more about our products and becomes more likely to purchase. The control panel gives complete control over the website's analytics and parameters. We can dig deeper into what your users do on your site, what their intent is, and why they do it.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

Smartlook enables me to monitor user activity, error messages, and the drop-off points on the registration or investment funnels.

I should work to improve my site insights. I’ll know how customers are interacting with the website, which will then show me how to improve it. This will help improve the site conversion rate.

Smartlook helps us improve our site. Smartlook offers users a better interface and thus allows them to learn more about the product, so the product has more weight in their final purchase decision. Installation is super-easy, and the configuration is simple to use. We like Smartlook because it is an easy solution that can be installed in just a few minutes. The Smartlook control panel is the ultimate tool to understand our website design and the user experience. It allows to control all parameters and understand how the user interacts with a business website. Using A/B testing, We can then modify the design of a business website in a way that caters to user behavior.

First of all, Smartlook has a very easy-to-use and fast dashboard. Second, their Free Plan will be good enough for many new businesses to get valuable user insight.  As an agency we're always pushing our clients to go with Smartlook over their pricey competitors. I also fancy their GDPR compatibility.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

I wish Smartlook's paid plans start with a more affordable fee.

**What problems is Smartlook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartlook recordings address two pain points for websites. 
1)  Landing page optimization (thanks to heatmaps and other recorded data)
2) User support (sometimes users can't describe their problems on which cases we're referring to their recordings)

Smartlook allows to analyze and understand the user behavior easily. It records the user sessions, create heatmaps and funnels in few clicks. We can filter easily the sessions to identify the ones which are relevant.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

I dont see many drawbacks of Smartlook. The only thing is that, as it is very powerful and and collects a lot of data, it can take some time to analyse the data and get some conclusion.

Smartlook allows us to know and understand how our users use our applications. It is helping us a lot to improve the UX of all our mobile and web applications.

The ability to see what visitors have been reading and how long they stay on there. You can also see if they visit other pages as well as many other features.

Nothing really to highlight here. All in all, it all works well for the price involved.

Smartlook managed to somehow pack all critical features  (events, filters, recordings...) in a still extremely easy to use software... which is so so so much more affordable than fullstory...  while at the same time being more valuable and powerful? SO happy that we found it.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

Nothing, honestly. I'd love to send automatic alerts to slack when X events happen.

It gives us insights that would be impossible to find otherwise and ultimately; it helps us build a better product for our users.

Smartlook has an excellent interface - it is clean, easy to navigate and breaks down information for the user in a digestible manner.

**What do you dislike about Smartlook?**

A lot of data can be daunting! It is important to know how to organise and subsequently use this data to turn it into practical actions for your business.

**What problems is Smartlook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartlook allows us to analyse customer behaviors in a way that analytics can't. Knowing 'how' people are using your site - and 'if' they are using your site the way you intend them to is critical to making key business decisions. Using Smartlook has now made us priotise all our frontend/UI considerations because it has shown that people were getting confused navigating the site or getting stuck on how to do certain actions on pages. The end result will be a complete redesign.
