Running cold email across a large number of sending domains has stayed surprisingly manageable from one place, and inbox placement continues to hold up even when I’m pushing serious daily volume.  Smartlead integrates seamlessly with our other tools in our tech stack (Slack, Claude, Airtable) and the API is intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

Onboarding leaned heavily on documentation and the community rather than hands-on guidance, so my first week came with a real learning curve. The interface is powerful, but it can feel dense in places, and it took me some time to track down where certain campaign settings were located.

**What problems is Smartlead solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It replaced a stack of separate tools I was paying for, so my cost per sending domain dropped noticeably compared with what I was running before. The AI warmup and reply-handling also mean I don’t have to babysit inboxes manually, which frees up real time for me each week.

Everything is integrated into a single tool. I particularly appreciate the ability to purchase email addresses directly from Smartlead and use them immediately in campaigns, without any additional handling.
The setup is simple and allows for quickly launching prospecting campaigns.
Even though I had some difficulties reaching support at first, I was eventually assisted by Vanshree, who was very responsive, professional, and efficient in handling my requests.

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

What I like less 👎
I encountered several bugs in the application, notably unexpected disconnections and some stability issues.
The communication around the platform's developments could be improved. I have noticed changes in the plan or modifications in the tool without being informed beforehand.
A bit more transparency on updates and product changes would improve the user experience on a daily basis.

**What problems is Smartlead solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartlead allows me to use a large number of mailboxes in parallel and send large volumes of emails to different targets without having to manage multiple tools.

Smartlead is the single most reliable and scalable cold email platform we’ve used, hands down. It powers the entire backend of our outbound operations across dozens of client accounts and thousands of inboxes.

We’ve generated over 10,000 positive replies and more than $30M in revenue using Smartlead. The ability to manage inbox warmups, rotate domains, control daily limits, and run high-performing Spintax-based messaging at scale makes it a true performance tool, not just a sending platform.

Deliverability has been consistently strong, and the level of automation available through their API and tagging system is what lets us run things smoothly across multiple verticals, campaigns, and teams.

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

No tool is perfect, Smartlead’s Master Inbox will sometimes have a bug or two but reloading almost always fixes it. But as the platform continues to evolve, the pace of improvements has been fast and support has always been responsive when issues come up.

Smartlead has a simple interface. For a beginner, it's very easy to navigate through. This is very useful when introducing new team members to Smartlead. Also the campaigns set up is quite simple. In addition, we've seemlessly integrated smartlead with Hubspot. The flow of data from smartlead to Hubspot and vice versa is smooth

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

When setting up sequences and trying to run A/B tests, it would be really helpful to let me choose which leads should receive specific templates. Right now, when I do A/B testing, I have to allocate a percentage of leads to each template (for example, 70/30 or 60/40), but I can’t decide exactly which leads will actually get Template A versus Template B.

Secondly is the glitches, I remember, we had an issue where we couldn't import leads to smartlead directly using Hubspot. The support from your end was poor, we were left stranded not knowing what was actually happening behind the scenes

Smartlead is helping us reach out to prospects through emails and book meetings for our clients. Unlike the gmail or Outlook inboxes, we can bulk send emails and track the summarised overview of the progress of each email sent.

**What do you like best about Smartlead?**

I like the seamless consolidation of inboxes/domains since with cold outbound, it's necessary to use many email addresses. This consolidation into one master inbox allows me to feel like I'm only using one inbox, even when it's many. I also like the auto tagging of interested prospects because it eliminates the need to sift through hundreds of responses, allowing me to know when a lead comes in. Additionally, I appreciate that I feel like I can offload much of my deliverability problems to the Smartlead team, as they're always trying to stay on top of that. The initial setup of Smartlead was very easy and great.

I think they add a lot of features, and it's often difficult to know which ones are really going to be a game changer for me, and which ones aren't really worth the time to adopt.

Smartlead's delivery is really good, ensuring my campaigns reach the audience effectively. What helps me most is that the platform is quite open-ended, allowing me to see why certain campaigns might not be delivering as expected, so I can fix issues immediately. Additionally, having options to use my own smart servers makes it easy to understand what's going on and ensures my campaign's success. The initial setup of Smartlead was very easy, with nothing complicated, which is definitely a plus.

Some of the things that can be improved is with the UI functioning. Sometimes you click on things and they don't actually work. So back end is very powerful, but front end and UI could be improved.

I like that Smartlead has everything centralized on a single platform. The way the metrics are displayed is really useful. Also, the support team is quite good, which gives me confidence when creating campaigns. Having the health of the accounts monitored helps me to have everything much more visual, allowing me to quickly see if my campaigns are going well, if the accounts are functioning correctly, if the domains are properly configured, and if the copy is well written.

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

When I write copy and email sequences, sometimes I write too quickly and hit save, but it doesn't save fast enough and it doesn't get saved, and that makes me very angry. I suppose that by improving more technical infrastructure experts, it could become an even more robust and faster application.

I can automate the sending of B2B prospecting emails at scale. Smartlead centralizes everything on one platform and monitors the health of the accounts, which gives me more confidence and speed to see the status of my campaigns.

Smartlead has provided additional support to our operations channel by giving noticeable results. The best thing about SmartLead is that it provides multiple follow-ups within a campaign so you don't have to do it manually.

The tag system in the inbox section has multiple issues. For example, we run our campaigns where we mention, "If you are interested, reply with 'yes.'" Sometimes it automatically puts a tag as "interested" to those experts who are interested, but sometimes we have to do it manually.

**What problems is Smartlead solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The overall UI/UX of Smartlead is very appealing, and it’s especially helpful for individuals who are new to the platform because it’s easy and simple to use. When we were testing Smartlead, it made the process much smoother for us.

Before Smartlead, the main problem we faced was the lack of a structured approach to cold emailing. We were doing everything manually, but after switching to SmartLead, our performance has been maximized. Now, our campaigns consistently bring in a large number of interested individuals, and it improves our workflow by helping us identify and follow up with people who show interest.

We’re also using integration on Smartlead, and this integration system automatically replies to those experts who are interested. It saves a lot of time and effort. The AI feature in Smartlead is also a win-win for us. Since SmartLead is very affordable compared to many other platforms, it provides a strong return on investment.

The Smartlead support system is very helpful as well, and it provides quick solutions when issues come up. Overall, Smartlead is the best product I use compared to other platforms such as instantly, etc.

It was an easy enough setup, I think. The potential for this to streamline and automate my cold emailing is huge and I have high hopes for it.

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

The customer service has been terrible so far. On day one of my first campaign starting, I had a warning come up. I reached out to support and after the first message with someone, they ghosted me for over half an hour despite me asking if they were still there. 
I ended that chat and requested another person. The AI chat bot sent me to the same person who then did the same thing. Only on the third contact did someone actually help me in a way that was timely.

Today (three days later) another warning came up. Once again, ghosted my customer service for more than half an hour. Google AI walked me through fixing the issue because I don't have hours to spend waiting for support. 

I'll be watching the performance of this campaign closely to see if it's worth staying with this company.

If this works as it should, it'll save me tons of time and energy doing my prospecting and cold emailing.

I have been using smartlead for almost a year! The deliverability of cold emails is good, I would appreciate that part. The best part is you can buy domains in smartlead and WarmUp without purchasing any additional plan.

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

Their master inbox & customer support! It takes atleast 2-3 days to answer a small question to fix a small issue! Their support dont even put a small effort to look in to the issue and they reply in chat after 24 hours, just to ask is this the issue!!! My inbox is deactivated due to a Google error, and i mentioned the issue, still i get a reply after 24 hours, is that the issue!!! Master inbox sucks to the core!!! I see the replies from the lead only after 3-5 days, sometimes 7-10 days. Assholes no point to have a system like this!!

It is helpful in buy domains, warming up and sending to the ICPs, all at one place.

They have better new contact limits, smartprospect is fine, and also UI is decent.

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

Their warmup pool is completely unmonitored — dead and inactive email accounts are never removed, which got all our email accounts blacklisted due to massive bounces we weren't even aware of. Our campaigns were also running at over 1% bounce rate as a direct result of this.

On top of that, we canceled our subscription and they auto-charged us again for a renewal without any notice. Support is dead slow — getting any response, let alone a resolution, takes forever.

**What do you like best about Smartlead?**

What I like best about Smartlead is that it gives us a strong, scalable system for running outbound email without making the workflow overly complicated.

From a UI/UX perspective, the platform is easy to navigate. Setting up campaigns, adding leads, configuring sequences, managing mailboxes, and reviewing performance are all fairly straightforward. This matters because outbound email involves many moving parts, and Smartlead keeps the day-to-day workflow organized instead of making it feel fragmented.

The performance and deliverability features are especially valuable for us. Mailbox rotation, sending limits, warm-up, campaign tracking, and reply management help us run email outreach in a more controlled way. For example, when we are targeting different customer segments or testing different messaging angles, Smartlead makes it easy to monitor what is working and adjust quickly. Also, classifying email replies using AI/Intelligence has been a great feature, allowing us to process replies at scale.

Integrations are another strong point. We are able to connect contacts with our CRM and also integrate Smartlead with automation tools like Make. This helps us reduce manual work across the outreach process, such as moving leads between systems, updating statuses, or triggering follow-up workflows based on campaign activity.

From a pricing and ROI perspective, we feel Smartlead is worth the cost because email marketing and outbound outreach are important channels for us. The value comes not just from sending emails, but from being able to manage outreach at scale, maintain visibility, and improve execution quality.

Support has also been a positive experience. We have faced certain product issues from time to time, but the support team has generally been proactive. The in-app chat support is particularly useful; most of my queries have been resolved directly through the chat without needing a long escalation process.

One area we have not explored deeply yet is the AI functionality, so I would not want to overstate our usage there. However, the core platform already delivers strong value for campaign execution, integrations, performance tracking, and support. Overall, Smartlead has become a reliable part of our email outreach workflow.

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

What we dislike most is that Smartlead can still feel like an evolving product, especially when it comes to stability and campaign management at scale.

We have experienced product glitches from time to time. To be fair, whenever we have reached out to support, the team has been responsive and the issues were usually fixed. However, these interruptions can still be inconvenient when campaigns are active or when the team is trying to manage day-to-day outreach smoothly.

The bigger challenge for us is campaign management. We have over 4,000 campaigns in the system, and at that scale, filtering, sorting, organizing, and finding the right campaigns can become difficult. A more advanced campaign management experience would be very useful, especially better filters, group selection, bulk actions, folders or campaign grouping, and easier sorting by status, owner, date, performance, or campaign type.

Overall, Smartlead is powerful, but the operational experience could be improved for teams managing a large number of campaigns. Better organization and fewer product glitches would make the platform much stronger for high-volume users like us.

**What problems is Smartlead solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartlead is helping us solve two important email outreach problems: running cold outbound at scale and managing newsletter distribution more reliably.

For cold email outreach, our sales team works with an evolving lead list of 10,000+ contacts. Before using Smartlead, one of the main challenges was running campaigns regularly without overloading individual inboxes or hurting deliverability. When sending at that scale, it is very easy for emails to start landing in spam or promotions instead of the primary inbox.

Smartlead helps us manage this better through mailbox rotation and controlled sending limits. We are able to distribute sending volume across multiple email accounts, reduce the load on each inbox, and improve overall deliverability. This has made our outbound process more structured and sustainable.

The Master Inbox feature is also extremely useful for us. Instead of checking multiple inboxes manually, our team can manage replies from one place, identify interested leads faster, and avoid missing important responses. This saves time and improves follow-up discipline.

We also use Smartlead for sending newsletters to new clients and leads. The use case is slightly different from cold outbound, but the underlying benefit is similar: we can send campaigns in a more controlled way, maintain better deliverability, and manage outreach to a large audience without relying on manual email workflows.

Overall, Smartlead helps us scale email outreach while keeping deliverability, reply management, and campaign execution under control.

I like Smartlead for its stability, especially being a reliable platform for dealing with the ups and downs of cold email deliverability and lead generation over the past three years. It compiles everything related to cold email lead generation into a single tool that my team can use. The support team is really helpful, particularly with questions or custom requests, which is great since we are a mid-size user for them. It gives me peace of mind knowing our email sending platform isn’t the reason for poor deliverability performance. Additionally, their API is strong.

There's one thing specifically that bothers me: there's a cap of the number of email accounts I can connect with a single campaign, which is 1,000-1,200.

**What do you like best about Smartlead?**

Smartlead takes the hardest part of cold email, deliverability, and basically handles it for me. My emails actually land in the primary inbox of the right prospects instead of getting buried in spam. The platform is simple to use and it just works, which makes running outreach campaigns for my startup, Sponja (sponja.ai), a lot less stressful. What I value most is how it manages domain health on its own: it runs the mailbox warm-ups and spaces out the sending automatically so my sender reputation stays healthy. I just upload a CSV of my prospects and my copy, and Smartlead handles the rest.

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

Honestly, not much. The main thing is the mobile app. I'm on Android, and it feels limited next to the web version. I'd love to check campaign stats and replies on the go without reaching for my laptop. It's a minor gripe though, and it hasn't gotten in the way of the results.

**What problems is Smartlead solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting cold email to actually reach inboxes used to mean constantly babysitting domains and warm-ups. Smartlead solves that for me. It keeps my sending domains healthy, warms up the mailboxes, and paces the sending so I stay out of spam folders. The real benefit is time and peace of mind: I upload a CSV of prospects and trust that the emails will land where they should, which lets me focus on the outreach and on building my product instead of managing email infrastructure.

Smartlead have been providing regular updates to their platform over the past year, the most recent update is a new UX interface which has massively improved the platforms functionality and makes it more user friendly. Its Mailbox and domain management tools have also improved massively making running cold outbound campaigns very easy. Its also makes complex technical processes seem very easy seamless.

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

Its would be great if they would expand the number of integrations available, as I currently have to use Make to get a number of cross platform features working as part of my tech-stack for reporting.

**What problems is Smartlead solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need a platform that we can run 30 plus email inboxes from in one place, there are other tools but they don't do it as well. Ultimately it enables us to run multiple email campaigns that generate leads that ultimately reflects in the bottom line ROI.

The design is terrible and way behind in terms of UX. I've had to send them at least 100 support tickets about things to fix, which they eventually did a few months later. Things break for no reason, and the search function doesn't work. It's not the best or most reliable tool to use. Leads disappear, which is a big issue when the whole point is to book leads into calls.

Setting up Smartlead is dead easy too; you just sign up, set a password, and you're good to go. The quick start guide is also a great help. I think all these features make Smartlead an important tool in our stack for email marketing outreach.

I would say reducing the price a little bit. Definitely helps people on the listed team of like me. But, yeah, pricing could be. **What do you like best about Smartlead?**

Easy to set up with a super friendly UX. We were able to scale our outbound efforts very quickly, and support has been great throughout. Very nicely integrates with clay. Pricing is ok, as we find it does go up quickly if you have large volumes of the emails going out

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

There’s no MCP connection to Claude. We’ve been using MCP across all our tools for dynamic reporting, but obviously that isn’t possible with Smartlead.

**What problems is Smartlead solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped launch and scale our outbound efforts, and also helped us understand which messaging works best for our ICP.

We also have a CLI that might work well for your use case - it wraps the Smartlead API for use in terminals, scripts, and CI/CD pipelines. You can pipe output to spreadsheets, schedule exports with cron, or plug it into existing scripts. It works alongside the MCP: the MCP handles AI-driven workflows, the CLI handles scripting and automation.

**What do you like best about Smartlead?**

Smartlead has improved quite a bit in terms of deliverability and automation. The ability to manage multiple inboxes and warm them up automatically is very useful. I also like how easy it is to scale campaigns without worrying too much about spam issues. The UI feels smoother now, and integrations have become more reliable.

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

Pricing can still feel a bit high, especially for smaller teams or individuals just starting out. The UI, although improved, can sometimes feel slightly overwhelming for new users. More detailed onboarding or guided tutorials would make it easier to get started faster.

Value for money is very good, and it lets me connect a lot of email addresses without any hassle.

The integrations are also a strong point, especially with tools like Clay, which work really well.

It's built for pure automation, in a perfect world the manual step of a sequence would be a little more robust.

**What do you like best about Smartlead?**

I use Smartlead for managing email campaigns for multiple clients as part of my agency, and I really like using multiple mailboxes on each campaign and spreading the sending load across email accounts while matching Gmail and outlooks emails to prospect emails

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

I find Smartlead too optimized for email agencies and not enough for SDR teams. The initial setup for an SDR team isn't that easy, and I had to improvise my own steps.

**What problems is Smartlead solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Smartlead for email campaigns, purchasing email domains and mailboxes, using multiple mailboxes for each campaign, and spreading the sending load across accounts.

**What do you like best about Smartlead?**

SmartLead has a very clean UI, and it's relatively easy to set up/implement. The campaigns are fairly easy to start and then run, and overall organization is fine. I wouldn't write home about it, but it wasn't an issue for me to figure out how to use it fairly quickly.

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

I came to Smartlead from Instantly, and there are a few things that hold me back from jumping on a plan.

1. It only opens to SmartProspect. I assume that their primary use is for prospecting/lead enrichment, but it's frustrating to not open to a dashboard or a neutral index page.

2. There is a serious lag in data reporting. It would take easily 30 minutes to over an hour for the reporting data to catch up with real time. With bounces, fine. With replies, that's an issue. I'm checking on my campaign several times a day, so it was easy to see the lag. 

3. There's also a serious issue with reporting replies. OOO Reply indicates it's automated, not necessarily OOO. Additionally, any non-positive reply (whether automated or not) is reported as OOO. Of 3 replies, 1 was automated and 2 were not. However, because none of them were not positive, all were counted as OOO (which is untrue).

4. Customer support is a big deal-breaker for me. This is a tool that we have to implement across the company, and I want to know that there's a team I can trust behind it. When I brought up the OOO Reply concerns, the agent didn't understand what I was saying and then was dismissive of the issue. If this was a simple misunderstanding, I could understand it. But this was a larger reporting issue that's either a bug or a mis-step in reporting design.

I use Smartlead for email blasts, and I appreciate that I can send emails to many people in one tap. I like the global analytics, as it lets me easily look at the general information of the totality of my campaigns. The initial setup is also pretty easy, I'd rate it a 9 out of 10.

I'm only able to send 40 emails per day.

**What do you like best about Smartlead?**

Smartlead makes it easy to scale cold email properly. The biggest advantage is unlimited inboxes and automated warmup. I can connect multiple domains and inboxes, rotate them automatically, and run campaigns safely without worrying about burning domains.

The unified inbox is also very useful. I can manage replies across all inboxes in one place instead of logging into multiple accounts. Campaign setup is flexible, and automation works reliably.

It’s clearly built for people who understand cold email and want to scale.

**What do you dislike about Smartlead?**

I don’t have any major complaints. It does what it’s supposed to do, and it’s been reliable for managing and scaling cold email. Most things work smoothly once set up properly.

Smartlead helps me scale cold email efficiently and keeps everything centralized. Warmup, inbox rotation, campaigns, and reply handling are all built in. They also consistently add new features and stay ahead of competitors, especially in scalability and deliverability.

I really like that Smartlead lets us manage all our campaigns in one place, which makes things a lot easier. The warm-up feature is a big plus because it helps avoid the burning of domains and mailboxes, so we don't have to worry about that. Also, Smartlead is very easy to use, which is a major benefit.

Well, I think it can get slightly cluttered at times. You know, reporting could be a little more detailed, especially for deeper campaign insights.

Customer Service, having been one of the earliest users, I can tell you this has dropped over time. They also changed the support model to be different paid tiers which is fine, but not fair in some respects.

**What do you like best about Smartlead?**

I primarily use Smartlead for cold emails across different businesses. I'm really thankful that they helped me correct my domain setup in the system. The pre-warmed emails are definitely helpful and they saved me a lot of time, especially because I was behind on schedule. I love the changes that they're making on the website. Their support is amazing, and I really do love everything, including the whole system and the updates you're making online.

I'm not the best at technology, so if they could have tutorials on the website, like, on how to use everything, that would be helpful.

**What problems is Smartlead solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartlead helped correct my domain setup, saving me time when I was behind schedule. The pre-warmed emails are definitely helpful.
