As a planner, I find Slimstock intuitive, responsive and easy to use. Its dashboards turn large amounts of data around forecasts, inventory, demand and supply into clear exceptions and actions. The To Do functionality is particularly useful because I can work systematically through priorities, record completed actions and maintain visibility of what still requires attention.
My daily use of Slimstock involves identifying stock codes at risk of stock-outs or overstocking and investigating the drivers behind those risks. I can move from a high-level dashboard into individual stock-code detail, review the relevant metrics and then use that information in discussions with Sales, Operations and Purchasing. This supports a much more data-driven approach to planning and allows me to focus my time on exceptions rather than manually reviewing every item.
The integration with our ERP is another important benefit, bringing our ERP and planning information together and reducing the amount of manual analysis required. This, combined with Slimstock's user interface and performance, makes it an effective day-to-day planning tool.
We have been using Slimstock for approximately three years and have seen a reduction in inventory costs during that period. This has released working capital for investment elsewhere in the business and demonstrates a tangible return on our investment. At the same time, Slimstock helps us balance inventory reduction against the need to maintain availability and manage supply risk.
The support we receive from Slimstock is also valuable. As our planning processes and use of Slimstock continue to develop, having access to their expertise helps us continually improve how we use the system and get more value from it.
Overall, Slimstock has helped us move towards a more proactive, exception-based and data-driven planning process, while providing measurable value through improved inventory management Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One challenge for us as a manufacturer is balancing Slimstock's focus on lean inventory with the practical realities of factory capacity. There are times when running a larger production batch or building stock ahead makes sense from a manufacturing efficiency perspective, even if it isn't necessarily the leanest inventory outcome. It can take some thought and configuration to get that balance right. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
