"Simple and Effective Communication for Distributed Teams"

5/5

What do you like best about Slack?

What I like best about Slack is how quickly it lets me communicate with different teams without turning every small question into an email or meeting. Having separate channels for projects, teams, and topics makes it easier to keep conversations organized and find the relevant discussion later.

I also find threads useful for keeping replies attached to the original conversation instead of cluttering the main channel. For day-to-day work, the combination of channels, direct messages, threads, and file sharing makes Slack a practical place to coordinate with people across different teams. What do you dislike about Slack?

It can become noisy when you're part of several active channels. Important messages can get buried quickly, especially when multiple conversations are happening at the same time.

Notifications can also become difficult to manage if you're following a lot of channels. I sometimes have to mute or customize notifications to avoid being distracted by conversations that aren't immediately relevant to my work. The search is useful, but finding the exact context of an older discussion can still take some effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?

Slack solves the problem of keeping day-to-day communication organized when people are working across different teams and projects. Instead of relying on long email threads or separate conversations, I can use channels for specific topics and teams, while direct messages work well for quick discussions.

For me, the main benefit is faster communication and better visibility into ongoing work. I can ask questions, share updates, discuss issues with the right people, and refer back to previous conversations when needed. Threads also help keep discussions connected to the original message without making the main channel difficult to follow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
