**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

The ability to create detailed custom spaces with actual materials and products I have selected while also going from plan to elevation to perspective all in one file is so easy. There are tons of videos available to learn the program quickly.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

There are a lot of extensions and its hard to distinguish which ones are the best for what I need so It takes more additional research to find out what others in my field are using.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketchup has reduced my design time since I no longer have to use two separate programs to create my designs.

  ### 3. Used in design consideration for mock-ups and modeling.

Ease of use and speed for creating 3D concepts.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Some compatibility issues with other programs.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rich warehouse of components necessary for light rendering and space planning. Realistic visualization of concepts.

  ### 4. I've used SU for many years and hung in thru all the ownership changes over the last 15 years.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

It allows me to design interiors, furniture and architecture as I would build. It allows me to direct fabricators to execute exactly as I want it. There is a broad community of users that are a boon to finding solutions.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

It's a work in progress, I find if I have a problem I can find a solution. Most all of their upgrades expidite the process. I must admit that most all my complaints get addressed eventually or I find easy work arounds.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows my clients to take design risks they wouldn't normally do. Allows presentations that solves the " it looks like this, from this viewpoint"

  ### 5. User Friendly and Lots of Extras

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heidi P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Sketchup has been easy to learn and use. There are lots of features to support you and many of the questions I run into are answered by googling.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I wish that layout was better integrated with sketchup. I find that i have to go back and forth between the two programs several times to tweak my documents and each time I have to save sketchup then request the latest version in document set up within layout.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create professional plans that are to scale for my clients and contractors to be able to make my design vision a reality.

  ### 6. Principal at an Architectural Design Firm

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John H. | Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Sketchup has an exceptionally well designed user interface that is inherently intuitive. The ultimate functionality of the application is expandable around a small set of core functions; so, the user can customize the experience to minimize the clutter of functions that are unneeded. Sketchup is the best example of the KISS (keep it simple stupid) principle applied well to a piece of software that I have ever experienced.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Sketchup's sister program, Layout, has serious speed issues and is inconsistent with Sketchup's terminology and sequencing of selections and settings. Someone really needs to sit down and overhall the whole thing.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketchup is so quick and easy to use to explore design ideas, I am able to design, revise and refine designs on the fly in front of clients. It is almost as easy as hand sketching, but much more meaningful to clients.

  ### 7. Great Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mandilee N. | Senior Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

User-friendly, intuituve. Well-priced. Excellent design tool. Refines/ articulates our three-dimensional thinking as architects.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

No dislikes observed. Perhaps the way tools shift around between versions can be a little irritating, but it's all for improvement of the software.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I started using Skethup in 2006. What was interesting is the way it helped refine my 3-D thinking and my hand sketching skills.

  ### 8. Must Have for the AEC Industry or any DIYer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

It's extremely user friendly when trying to create simple designs, but can be as complex as you need it to be.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Learning all the nuances can be tricky. You can get stuck trying to edit something simple and change your whole design

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Revit alot, but it's sometimes much faster to model something in Sketchup. The 3D library is also a huge benefit

  ### 9. I have used sketchup off and on since 2006 for interior design

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley O. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

It helps my client vizualize the space in interior design

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I need to purchase another app to make it look more realistic

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My clients have a hard time picturing the space when I show them a 2D design from CAD. Placing the space in Sketchup allows me to show them a better visual of what the space will look like

  ### 10. SKETCHUP IS GREAT SFOTWARE FOR CONCEPTS DESIGNS

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Intuitive, easy to use and integrates well with other softwares

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

No automation, most of elements has to be created from scratch and integration with layout is clumsy

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to foresee issues while they are being modeled and not wait until construction phase

  ### 12. Project Manager/lead detailer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Simple and direct user interface and three-D to two-D work process.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

There is no multi-layer wall tool native to the program. With PassiveHouse, wall, roof, and floor layering with multiple layers, keeping track of the layers and dimensions to face if stud/structure becomes difficult.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has been a great mass modeler. I only wish it had multi-layer assemblies for wall, roof, and floor.

  ### 13. Great Modeling software

Software can have a learning curve but it is still very useful

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visualization of building massings

  ### 14. Excellent product for architectural firms

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marilyn G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

The process of modeling out schematic and design development is more fluid than other programs.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Although rarely, sketchup does crash which sometimes results in unsaved work.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping clients to understand their spaces and effectively impact their decisions at an early stage of the design process. Helping firm principals in fine tuning designs to reflect the project goals and criteria.

  ### 15. Sketchup's evolution over the years has made our company millions.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Randy T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

My favorite things about Sketchup are the price and usability right out of the gate. It integrates well with other file types and is easy to install. I use it everyday and enjoy how the tools allow me to quickly draw up my designs. I haven't needed customer support since I've used Sketchup because it's so easy to use.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I wish that Sketchup was able to create a bill of materials through layout. Organic shapes and the follow me tool could be better.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickness and more realistic rendering are 2 things that have improved a lot since I've started using Sketchup.

  ### 16. Sketchup is a Great Tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pedro G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

What I find most helpful about sketchup, is the ability to accurately represent ideas and processes to clients. An upside of sketchup, is its ability to import into Lumion with ease.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

What I find the least helpful about sketchup, is that you cannot assign different section cut graphics to materials, i.e walls and floors vs. earth. It would be helpful to have a "VG" settings option similar to Revit.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketchup is helping dissolve the gap between construction professionals and the general public in regard to Contract Documents vs. finished products. Most people understand a 3D rendering over a technical floor plan.

  ### 17. Very simple but powerful 3d modelling software. You can create concept model super quick

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Very easy and intuitive modelling interface. Very easy to modify model for concpet design. Almost like sculpting wiht your hands.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Dosen't dupport real curves, everything is made buy segments or mesh. No nurbs or polylines

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows to easssily test ideas and has very well integration wiht other industry software for export and imports.

  ### 18. User-friendly interface and beginner-friendly!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

As someone who just recently got to learning SketchUp, I quickly realized how beginner friendly the software is! It provides easy tools to create designs and sketches, or if working on visualization, SketchUp is a good place to start!

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I wish it was compatible with more other softwares for architectural use.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease and speed of modelling for rendering or diagrammatic purposes.

  ### 19. Sketchup is still Catching up

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

It is quick and easy for novice people to learn and get a good understanding of how 3D Modeling works.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Sketchup needs more solid state tools that would help in organic modeling and please, please, please, can we have some vertices to help connect linework easier. It's 2024 show me some vertex welding capabilities.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick building studies with mass modeling.

  ### 20. My One and Only

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

It has been my go-to tool for drawing for years! Coming from the AutoCad world SketchUp integrates 3D drawing, presentations, construction documents and detailing in one platform! The ease of use, fluid modeling and efficiency in which I can create the customized interiors I want to present to my clients.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Some of the features can be cumbersome like switching and updating references from SketchUp to Layout or the intellegence of the dimensioning and annotating.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrating all of the drafting platforms into one. Being able to model and draw in 3D that allows for conventional computers.

  ### 21. This is my go to 3d modeling product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mariel S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Its easy to learn and everything is very user friendly. I love that is available on ipad now to.
Plugins are easily downloadable and rendering is quite fun as well

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I believe the layout software needs more improvement as it seems to crash and lag all the time.
Also maybe consideration for an inhouse rendering software that comes with the program that would be awesome

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I haven't seen any new issues being addresed except that it is now portable and availble through ipad. So I can easliy model on the go and create ideas on the spot.

  ### 22. Sketch-Up is a vital Design tool for our firm

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

I like the ability to import Revit models and then add in the 3D warehouse assets

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I had a hard time learning the program coming from a Revit based background

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed more realistic furniture and other items for renderings. I work with a lot of interior design clients that require photorealistic renderings.

  ### 24. The most straight forward presentation and design tool I have!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Irene U. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

User-friendly and almos game-like. Honestly the programme has evolved so much since I started using it 17 years ago started but never lost it's esscense, I keep learning how to do new things as needed. If someone just needs to learn the basics it is very easy to start and it has so many plug-ins, accuracy and compatibility nowdays. I love how easy it is to transicion from 3D sketchup models to DWG if necesary.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I am hoping they will come with better ways to present more technical drafts and blueprints directly, I know it is posible to transfer acurate information and finish those technical drawings if necesary, maybe there's already a way and I don't know it yet but I do love sketchup as it is and it is a fundamental tool for me as a designer and contractor.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is my number one tool to present my work to clients and also to the construction crew, I can change details in minutes and communiate ideas so easily. I love how fast I have becomed and how easy and natural it seems, almost playful. I do enjoy working on this programme.

  ### 25. Best Software to Flesh Out Designs

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Hard to make precise movements and no ability to utilize parameters.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Extrude from archgitectural floorplans and make spaces very quickly. Awesome for our Interior Design Firm. We specialize in commercial builds and laying out huge spaces is no problem with Sketchup.

  ### 26. Perfect Solution to Our Search

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Sketchup is complex enough to deliver hyperealistic renderings and drawings to our clients while being easy enough to train an entire team quickly with confidence. All submittals, from the simplest to the most complex, can be compelted in one place wheras prior to using Sketchup, we'd hop around between multiple programs. The multitude of available extensions provide neverending opportunity for excellent design presentations.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Sketchup can be touchy, freezing or crashing with the addition of just one component. Depending on the installed extensions, you can also run into issues when attempting to use them in conjunction with other features or settings.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SketchUp is providing us with a one stop shop for drawing, rendering, and presenting submittal requests to our clients and municipalities. Rather than utilizing crude renderings for our submittals in addition to dimensioned, 2D drawings, we can now include SketchUp's hyperrealistic renderings. These submittals give clients an insight to their project which not only instills confidence in our work, but also showcases our abilities.

  ### 27. Works great to mockup up 3-D ideas

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashlyn H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

How user friendly it is! The controls are easy to understand, and is quick to learn within a couple days.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

How the colors look like a coloring page. I wish they looked more real, instead of so flat.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not sure what problems there solving. but sometimes the 3-D library doesn't work

  ### 28. Senior Design

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

1. Create stunning models to sell the project on the front end.
2. Create amazing 3 D details for the field.
3. It is a very easy program for a new hire to learn.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I wish there would be more adoption of the popular 3rd party extensions. I wish there was a better integration with Autocad. Customer Support seems as though it has gone down hill since the bigger role of Trimble.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Test fits. Problem solving tough framing details. Drawing interiors or exteriors to show the client to understand the scale and materials.

  ### 29. Fastest best way to build stuff for the world

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Garth K. | Senior Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Sketchup Studio is now able to hold its own along with virtually every other relevant architectural software. Contrary to its earlier reputation among "serious" architects, it is powerful, accurate, and you can make real drawings with it.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Plane vs, mesh still gets weird. I really wish Sketchup could be more like Blender for solid modeling and Boolean operations.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketchup + Enscape is my go-to for quick, accurate, and compelling visualization. I use Sketchup for everything from as-builts to photo-real renderings of ineriors and custom products.

  ### 30. Great visual communication tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pyrit S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

User-friendly. Although easy to learn, the application offers opportunities to create and explore complex design possibilities.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Cost. It started out as one of the best free design tools. Quality always seems to come at a cost.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Facilitates the ability to solve problems in advance. When several components of a building conflict at a single location, for example, a quick sketch and the "orbit" tool allow a 3D view of what's going on. The challenge is readily shared among colleagues who work as a team to proactively solve problems before finalizing the design.

  ### 31. Works as required for 3D Printing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

It meets the requirments for creating 3D prints.

  ### 32. Joyful

**Reviewed by:** Anas S. | Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

It's user friendly , it's easy ,fast and doesn't take you into the complex 3d geometry thing. just pick the pencil and start drawing , push and pul the drawings to make them 3d objects.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

how the recent sketchup versions deal with imported dwg models

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

how it's always the first software that's suported by any rendering software , even if there is a new software it targets sketchup as the first software to be compatible with

  ### 33. Director of Engineering

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Ease of use for 3D modeling. Being able to replicate item and flip and rotate. Components and groups are very helpfull

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I cannot print to scale either 1:1 or 1:whatever

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I design and build filling equipment and I can 3d print prototypes

  ### 34. Multitasking platform with seamless integration.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

I love thtat I can make a model slice it up and transform it into documents for cllients and builders. So many features are integrated right in the program that I do not need to go outside of Sketchup to do foundational tasks, although there are many third party extras and lot's of colabritive oportunities such as the Sketchup warehouse. Customer support is very helpful and consistantly handles in a timely manner. I keep Sketchup Pro on every device making it easy to use at home or on site via a touch pad. Sketchup Pro is a tool I use daily.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Sometimes it can run slow on a large file.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SketchUp often shows how building componets come together, how rooflines meet, how furniture fits in a space.

  ### 35. Game Changer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michele P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Yes, I'm still a novice but progressing quickly. I love the online tutorials.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Some things are not really intuitive, but eventually I can do what I set out to do! I wish I could import solid works files.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to draw without very expensive software.

  ### 36. Easy to use with frequent updates to capabilities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christie A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Sketchup is easy to use and fairly intiutive for any beginner. Updates over the years have really responded to the need for more complex modeling capabilites and I look forward to continuing to use SketchUp.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Keyboard commands are not in line with other software programs like AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe. Interfacing between these programs and SketchUp simultaneously is challenging to switch gears to the more unique letter-key short commands on SketchUp

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SketchUp has more offerings for complex modeling. Associated 3D Warehouse continues to grow and is useful for existing blocks.

  ### 37. Sketchup in Lean Manufacturing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David E. | Industrial Draftsman, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Sketchup allows me to quickly pull and stretch our components, customizing each one as needed. Revisions happen quickly. It is the only program we use, and we encourage all of our sister locations to use it as well.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

The BOM generator within sketchup is difficult to use

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We attempted to use other prorams but found the constraint features to be too cumbersome to work around. For the frequency of revisions we have and the speed we are expected to get designs out Sketchup is much more flexible.

  ### 38. I have been using sketchup for a short period of time, but I have grown to really like it.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

I like the 3D capabilities and the plug-in options.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I don't like how challenging it can be to modify an existing group.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving the visual representation issues that clients have a hard time seeing. It's benefitting me because I can offer a very accurate 3D model.

  ### 39. enjoying SU

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikola R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

The ability to create a complehensive and detailed enough model for presentations and background for sketching over

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

dificult to create more realistic viewpoints and less skewed perspectives

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

studying the massing in almost real time and presenting the design to the client

  ### 40. I thought I would use Sketchup once, I use it every day

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Todd V. | Board Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Sketchup is easy to learn and easy to remember. Most things are very intuitive, and I've yet to find something I need to do that I can't. There are a lot of tutorial video's out there that have answered any questions that I have had.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

There are a few minor bugs, at least on the Mac version, that I have had to learn to work around, but they are just minor annoyances, not feature or stability problems. The license manager is a little more complicated than it needs to be, but once logged in, it stays out of your way for a few weeks.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SketchUp to design parts that I either 3D print in PLA or have fabbed in steel at Xometry. If I had to use other, more complicated software I probably wouldn't be doing the stuff im doing.

  ### 41. Easy to learn with tons of training resources online

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom P. | Commercial/Residential Broker, Real Estate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Prototyping ideas makes it easy to visualize and troubleshoot before building in the real world.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

A bit expensive for casual users. If you're not a professional user, it may be hard to justify for small projects here and there.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me do more than paper planning for small building projects. I am able to actually model whatever I am going to build prior to actually launching a project. It allows me to think through all the materials and engineering features and troubleshoot issues in a pre-planning phase.

  ### 42. I've developed a fabulous system for the design and drawings of high end custom homes.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keith G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

I'm constantly improving my presentations and construction drawings.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Everytime there's an update, I have to reformat all of the tool bars.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's so much nicer to present a new home design as a fly around 3d model instead of a flat piece of paper.

  ### 43. Eazy and Intutive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

That it is fast to learn and versatile so it can be used in a number of disciplines

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

While it is versatile, sometimes you have to think outside the box to get it to do what you wish to accomplish. Creating spheres for example.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

speed of modeling

  ### 44. Quick & powerful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Braeden B. | D, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

Sketchup helps make communication between designer and client much more clear and much faster

  ### 45. Great Addition to our software choices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

It can be used in 3D or simple Plan view

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Not alot of complaints! It's tough to print to scale but thats really it!

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows meto build unique cabinets in 3D and see how all of the parts need to interact

  ### 46. Very Easy, Robust, Top Notch Software for Interior Designers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jagadeesh R. | Project-in-Charge and Creative Head, Construction, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

I awlays admire the idea of simplicity, a lot of software were out before Sketchup launched. All those were very deep learning curve and had to invest plenty of time for learning. But, Sketchup was launched for simplicity. Over the period, it has grown from mere an enthusiast software to a professionally honed software.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I am not able to say much here, but crashing issues, especially when we working with large files, is there. we have to save the file before rendering, because, possibiilty of a crash is there.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves a lot of time.
Learning curve is very less.
New designers can get in to with in a couple of weeks.
Renderings are pretty good.
Works seamlessly with a lot of Render Engines.
3D Ware House is the iconic catch.

  ### 47. Repetitive Crashing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dakota K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Ability to create 3D models and input personilized textures to create as accurate as possible models for our clients.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

It crashes every single time I use it, specifically when I am using the 3D warehouse.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Avoiding learning learn CAD.

  ### 48. Great software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** MARION S. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Very powerful you can do so much with sketch up

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

The learning curve is slow. The tools don't always respond the way they should and finding out why can be fustrating and difficult.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly draw a design idea for client

  ### 49. Useful visualization software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

How easy it is to extrude surfaces and push and pull forms to create desired shape.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

How it looks pretty animated and not as realistic as i would like.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to communicate 2D drawings to 3D forms for clients.

  ### 50. Very diverse, great training available, great price!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Donivan D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

The Warehouse of products is amazing. And I can add more to the warehouse for myself and other users.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

So much to learn...not sure if thats a bad thing though.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a program to create 3D kitchen and bath renderings that allowed me to bring in real life products. For instance, adding the exact tile and tile design to the shower walls. It has allowed my clients to visualize and bring to life their project before we even start!
