SketchUp has been able to make some of our complex details easier to read and simpler to understand.

  ### 11. Incredibly useful tool with easy-to-use interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kate D. | Design Director / Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

It is so fast knocking together ideas and quickly making iterations. I use it for so many different things from cost estimating volume; working through tough spacial intersections and complex grade changes; modeling options for clients; construction details; designing furniture; designing objects to 3D print... The list goes on and on. It changed my 3D design life!

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

The exports to CAD are hard to work with and make clean. Every object you make has to be grouped. Realistic rendering has never been great. The way Tags and Entity Info work together is kind of rough when your moving fast.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly working through ideas and design challenges. Communicating design ideas with coworkers, clients and allied professionals. Volume and quantity calculations for cost estimating.

  ### 12. SketchUp - Expeditiously Amazing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

I love that SketchUp is compatible with so many other software. It fits into so many of my workflows and is an integral part of the design process at our firm. The user interface is intuitive and expandable via a plethora of extensions making modeling easy and boundless!

I find modeling terrain the least intuitive and highly constrained.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SketchUp is an easy way to produce massing models, especially when master planning. It is a great way to quickly determine the overall volume of a project. Our firm can quickly determine factors such as number of tenant spaces, number of living spaces, and shading and shadow studies.

  ### 13. SketchUp is very useful for 3d design

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenneth D. | IT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Creating 3D conceptual drawings for work and home spaces

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Login problems with pro version on Trimble

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 14. Architect w/40 years experience, moved from AutoCad Architecture to Sketchup Pro and Layout.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Sketchup is one of the easiest to use 3D CAD programs available. It is robust and the 3D warehouse makes visualization quick and easy. It appears that Canvas, Sketchup Pro, Layout and ConDoc are now an excellent 3D scan to 3D model to 2D drawing solution.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Sketchup documentation is lacking. There are many great functions that are just not evident from within the program. Layout could become a much more professional tool for 2D drawing. The comparison to AutoCad will never go away.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I decided to move from 2D to 3D drafting. My personnel has increased to 5 architectural interns. Sketchup is the most full featured and cost effective 3D drawing solution for my current situation.

  ### 15. I have been using Sketchup for years...

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Sketchup feels intuitive to me. It is not something that you can simply pick up and start using without having some direction, but once you are shown how the tools work it feels like the sky is the limit. I have used it daily in the past for doing house prints - now I mainly work as the administrator for the program. I like to tell our customers that we "draw backwards" from many house plan programs. Many of those programs draw in 2d and then render a 3d image. In Sketchup, you draw in 3d and then using section cuts, create 2d plans from the 3d image. This method gives the user an excellent feel for the house design while drawing it.

That being said, this is not just a house plan drawing software. You can draw whatever you want to model with it. I have made some woodworking projects by first modeling them in Sketchup. I have also used it for just having fun modeling whatever I felt was in my skill range to model.

Sketchup is very simple to install. Simply download the file and install it and you are ready to model. If you would like to have more features, there are ruby scripts that you download to add additional features to the program. If you need training on how to use the program, there are tons of online resources for using it from Sketchup themselves as well as other content creator tutorials.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Since we have several licenses for Sketchup where I work, their sales reached out to me to discuss discounts for multiple users. I tried that for a year or two, but never plan to try that again. That limited me from adding licenses through the customer portal itself and forced me to rely on a rep, who, in my experience, was hard to get in touch with and took several days to get a license added, which should only take a few minutes. When I told the rep that I wanted to switch back to the old system for licensing, I was told I could not do that, which was blatently wrong. I switched back and have had a much better experience for licensing after doing so.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a number of customers in our area that needed a source for good quality house prints. Sketchup was the program that we chose to use to fill this gap. Since there are so many scripts and add ons available to add to the program, we can continue to streamline and improve the process as well as the final product.

  ### 16. Familiar yet modern

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miguel M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

I was impressed with how familiar sketchup still feels to me. I used it in 2008-2011, then again in 2017-2019. Now in a new company and position, the need has come up to use it again, so the company I currently work for decided to invest in it. It still feels the same, yet the advancements are there. I had forgotten how easy it was to implement once again. Now I've also downloaded the ipad version, and it's not a dissappointment. It uses all the advantages the ipad provides by adding touch and apple pencil compatibility, and I can integrate everything I'm doing on the ipad back to my desktop. I'm still learning by watching the official sketchup youtube channel. The channel is extremely helpful. I needed a good refresher, and this definitely does the trick. Their videos are quick and consice. They don't get too elaborate by only focusing on one command/button per video. After all this time, I finally get to use Pro, which I'm happy for. Now I can extend my learning to include everything Layout can provide. Customer support has been on top of it by emailing me every day and reminding me that they're there if I need help. My frequency of use has been slow, because of the holidays, but now that I'm up and running again, I can say that it's been real awesome to use it every day.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I dislike that the desktop sketchup doesnt have some of the advancements the ipad version has, like the scalable smart objects. Unless I don't know where to go in the menu.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a much needed 3d visual for people in the company that have trouble understanding plan documents.
Beneficial in land placement using google earth, so the clients and people in charge can make quick decisions.
Artistically pleasing. Can provide color options.

  ### 17. Sketchup is great but it would be outstanding if the dev team would add some missing features.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

It is easy to use and intuitive, the 3D warehouse is extensive and the plugin comunity is thriving. I can easily adjust my preference and shortcuts in a way that suites my modeling style best. Clients can easily understand what they're looking at and it is easy to navigate for presentations.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

The base pro version of sketchup is lacking in its tools for more complicated modeling. Mesh faces and curviture modeling is often inpercice. More tools need to be added to vanilla sketchup that would allow for easiers modeling of curvalinear solids and meshes. Exporting scaled drawing to dwg and other CAD files should be easier. There should be a better built in material editor in sketchup, messing with saturation of materials tends add colors to the textures that should not be there. I wish I could make objects not interact with section cuts much like you can toggle cast and recieve shadows. I wish there was a multiface extrusion tool built into the software so I could thicken curvalinear faces.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to design in real time with clients at the table. It gives us a presentation tool that we can then render over. It allows us to quickly bring our 2D designs into 3D.

  ### 18. The best way to build your 3D modeling

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** PengYue L. | Programming and design engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Which is the faster method for building 3D modeling, that is the question. SketchUp can install other third-party plugins that assist in speeding up your 3D modeling work. In the current society, time equals money, and contracts are crucial. SketchUp can save you money and enable quick review by your customers.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

The basic tool is not sufficient, similar to a mirror. In my opinion, the tools for 2D drawing should be configured.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an industry and decoration designer, design speed can determine everything, including your benefits from your speed. SketchUp can enhance my design speed, making it easier to secure my contract.

  ### 19. Easy and fast

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paula V. | Millwork Engineer Drafter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

I work for a custom Millwork place, sketchup has been very useful to show the clients a quick preview of their personalized furniture.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

To need a plugin or being changing the view type to avoid the display with open or broken shapes

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am recently taking advantage of share the link of the sketchweb with clients. It's great that they can see my models in their cellphones with just a link

  ### 20. Have been using Sketchup as a modeling tool since 2004!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Seth T. | Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Quick ability to view design ideas in 3D and utilize the 3d community

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Formatting with Revit via materials and objects are not easily maintained when converting it back and forth (too expensive and difficult to do this)

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability for client to see the project in 3D - quick solutions and gives them confidence.

Also - super helpful for shadow studies and solar review!

  ### 21. Spatial Designer & Production Designer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sallie F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

The interface is clean and incredibly user friendly. I learned .skp on my own through online tutorials and trial & error. I

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I wish there was more integrated light rendering built into skp, not through a dedicated plug in. The 24 update has changed the game a bit but I still would love to see a bit more fidelity with reflective textures.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Realistic lighting within the styles and scene functions. Tags and organization work flow. We LOVE the flip function.

  ### 22. SketchUp - the best program for quick and accurate modeling for architecture

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jake W. | Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Quick modeling and editing, intuitive interface and tools, connection to geolocation tools, open to useful third-party plug-ins

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Modeling curved and circular surfaces is cumbersome if the user is not very experienced.

**Recommendations to others considering SketchUp:**

SketchUp is the most affordable tool for visualizing architecture in a realistic and accurate way. It is also one of the quickest tools for modeling architectural designs.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Modeling accurate architectural designs allows clients to visually experience designs before a building is even built. It's a huge benefit to clients.

  ### 23. Intuitive 3D Modeling Software Great for Producing the Best Designs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

SketchUp is such a big part of our process at my company. It's amazing to be able to model every detail of a home exactly how we want it built, and to be able to show the clients exactly how their space will look. I love the use of Enscape with SketchUp to create these realistic renderings. The whole program is pretty intuitive and easy to learn - it's easy to create almost whatever you want. And the 3D warehouse is also a huge plus, as a residential designer being able to find tons of pre-built furniture is a life saver.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Orbiting and creating views can be a bit tricky when you get stuck in walls and have to spend time getting back to where you were. I also wish there were an easier way to have plans and elevations set up for each space rather than creating them individually one by one.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SketchUp allows us to draw up specific details of how something is going to look or how it's going to be built on site, so then the actual construction process goes a lot smoother because we've already worked out those details in 3D. It's also amazing to be able to show clients views and renderings of exactly how the space will look so there are no surprises once design is complete.

  ### 24. Sketchup rules!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stan Z. | Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

It's great for visualization of ideas to seel to clients.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I wish it had better rendering capabilities.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visualizing complex spaces.

  ### 25. Easy and intuitive with a shallow learning curve

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

I use Sketchup for drawing out rooms to see how a concept piece may look. In the production side it is invaluable to use for getting all measurements and cuts just right. There is a cut list plugin available (for free no less) that makes the whole process painless. With these tools I can make projects with extreme accuracy and minimal waste not to mention I have clean and clear detailed pictures for documentation if needed.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Minor nitpicks, some I come to learn do have solutions. I would like every project to have default settings like units used (I prefer to stick to fractional inches only). Groups and tags take a little bit to wrap one's head around that may be used to a workflow that uses layers or the like.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Makes the planning process take a little longer but lets the production process be as efficient and consistent as possible within the limitations of my tools and abilities. Overall saving time and material and thus: money.

  ### 26. Overall I've had a great experience with SketchUp.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

SketchUp is a good lowcost 3D program to use and it is easy to get familiar with using it.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

SketchUp tends to get confused with the more detailed rederings. The more detailed the design gets, the more the program makes mistakes.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SketchUp to create 3D models of our construction projects. I can then show the renderings or the 3D to the customer so that they have a good understanding of what we will be building.

  ### 27. SketchUp - How Good Is It?

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evans H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

What I like best about SketchUp is that it has a very quick learning curve where you can very quickly generate Drawings that are good enough to convey a complex issue that is displayed in 3D for others to be able to understand and respond to.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

What I dislike about SketchUp is that I do not have enough time in my life to venture into the more sophisticated "virtual" views that Sketchup offers. The Software temps me like a work on a fish hook!!!

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to present to my Clients and Subcontractors complex spatial issues so that they can understand them and move forward with their implementation.

  ### 28. Incredible ease of use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jasmine B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Skecth up was incredibly easy to use. I was able to seamlessly implement into my work. It allowed me to communicate ideas with clients and collaborators in a way that was impossible before I started using it. I use it both for my work as a designer and for personal home remodeling projects. It has become part of my daily workflow. I was surprised at all of the resources available for integrating the software.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I have not experienced any downside to this software. I am continually surprised by its usefullness.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketchup primarily helps me communicate visual ideas with collaborators and clients and allows for greater ease of implementation

  ### 29. I highly recommend Sketchup.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abel O. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Sketchup has definitely made it incredibly easy for me to create my designs, and it also has many training available to continue learning how to use all the tools available and make your designs as realistic as you imagine.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

There is nothing I don't like, I would simply recommend that there be a greater variety of materials without having to download them from the warehouse.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I show my clients the design before manufacturing, for their approval.

  ### 30. Slight learning curve but fairly easy to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tareck S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

I like the simplicity of it as well as the vast library available through 3d warehouse. I also like the basic commands and the power they typically have within each function.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

It does have a slight learning curve especially when comming over from software like Rhino 7 and AutoCAD which makes it a little challenging to get working in the software in a speedy manner.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The documentation and visulisation processon on sketchup is very nice.

  ### 31. The best tool for getting ideas in front of the team and clients quicklyt and effectively

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael B. | Sr. Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

SketchUp is one of the easiest virtual design tools out there. It makes assembly of ideas quick and easy, while being malleable enough to change on the fly. Extremely useful in preliminary design, and even useful during post design phases for explaining things to contractors in 3d.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

While a lot of times it is alright for presentations to look "sketchy", it would be great to have some way to create a somewhat more realistic appearance or lighting effect wihtin the program. With the understanding that this tool was not intended for that, it would be great!

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the first stages of design for a building it is most difficult to get your ideas down "on paper". Some people are gifted with the ability to sketch by hand, but some of us cannot create beautiful images on paper, and this program lets our ideas come to life.

  ### 32. It’s easy to use and fun to explore your inner builder

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

You can get answers to any of your questions with all the tutorial videos and articles.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I think when you are ready to create your floor plans, transitioning to Layout can be tough without a tutorial.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketchup is an affordable 2D and 3D solution that anyone can learn and use. The tutorials available are free and they cover every question I have ever had.

When you need an assembly, such as a jamb+door, kitchen cabinets, a wall with accurate layers, and so on; there is a 3D Warehouse filled with prebuilt items that you can use as is or customize to fit your needs.

  ### 33. SketchUp for Design Visualization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

With SketchUp Pro, building a 3D model with unique textures and finishes customized to the client's vision is possible! And now with the SketchUp Viewer on all devices including the Meta Quest headset, we can help our clients understand the planned space and make changes before construction begins!

SketchUp has a lot of free tutorials available to aid in learning the program and understanding the vast capabilities. There is also a forum to help people find solutions to the issues that they may face while working in the program.

I use SketchUp as my primary design visualization software for my business.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

SketchUp has a secondary program called LayOut to aid in presentations from the model. It can created PDF and JPG files for sharing. It is wonderful to be able to make a change in the model and then see that change in the presentation file, but there are some communication errors that can be very time consuming. With persistence these can be worked around.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SketchUp allows me to show my clients how their design choices such as tile, fabric, and furniture work together to create a pleasant home or place of work. I also use it to illustrate design choices for exteriors. With the immersive viewer clients can walk around a full scale project before the land is even cleared.

  ### 34. Architect's Review of Sketchup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grady B. | CIO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

The intuitive ease of use. It allows us to quickly illustrate iterations of ideas.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

We have not complaints. It would be nice to be able to more easily switch between drawing planes.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a BIM design group. Sketchup allows us to more quickly consider design options that may later be incorporated in our design model.

  ### 35. I have been using SketchUo for about 10 years. It is outstanding for both design and presentations.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** thad d. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

I love how quickly you can get Ideas going and modify them as you go. I also love the ease of presentation with teh use of LayOut.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I cant really find anyhting negative about it.
They continue to improve over teh years and are always staying on top of bug fixes.
SkethUp is great!

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very quick to turn conceopts into convincing visuals to share with clients

  ### 36. Professional

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda G. | Owner CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

For me personally SU has been hard to learn. I am in my 50's so I wasn't raised with technology. With that said, if you're unsure if you should use it, I say try it! I've been working with a teacher for about two years and what I love most is how professional the drawings look when they are completed. It really elevates my designs as a designer and conveys the end product well to clients so they can see the results.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

For me personally, it's a very hard program to learn. I've been trying for two years and have worked with three teachers and taken two separate courses. There are so many nuances to this program and if one line is slightly off it can ruin the entire drawing moving forward. I learned CAD years ago and there was a snap feature to ensure the lines were connecting. I wish SU had something like that. I also really struggle with getting items on the face. I will place a piece of furniture in a drawing only to find out it's floating in the air. I also get very frustrated with the push pull feature. My god when I'm trying to punch out windows it never works as simple as when my teacher does it.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps convey my designs in a 3D colorful model to help my clients visualize the end result

  ### 37. Fantastic.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Noah J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

SketchUp allows me to show a great visualization to my customers. We get to talk and "walk through" a real-time version of a piece of their house, business, or property together before we even start construction. It is a great tool.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

It can be a difficult product to learn for some.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SketchUp allows me to show the customer a very close model to what they are going to get after construction.

  ### 38. Excellent for design and architecture!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paola M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

It is so easy and convenient to use. I've been using it for more than 3 years, the new plug-ins make my work so much easier. It is the best software for 3D modeling. I would 100% recommend it.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

The only think I do not like of sketchup would be how heavy the model can get and it freezes my computer.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has implemented more and more plug ins.

  ### 39. Sketchup enables flawless coordination.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Sketchup allows us to exchange 3D models between firms effortlessly, which helps our projects take off that much faster.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

There is a pay barrier to being able to import revit files, which forces our colleagues to spend extra time exporting in a different format. This is silly, in my opinion.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketchup allows us to render beautiful landscape designs to sell them to our customers and make the vision pop.

  ### 40. It's Basically All You Need.....

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Craig S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

The "easy to use" program. After being an Architect for over 40 years, and having to teach kids how to use SketchUp, it has become one of the easiest and most relevant system software programs in existance. Time is money, therefore, when someone can "catch-on" due to how easy and simple this software is, that speaks volumes!!!

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

The logo....really liked the earlier version. It actually resonated symbolically with the softward!!!!!! What happen!!!!! You didn't get my approval to change it!!!!

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From a communication perspective, it makes the "sale" and understanding of a project easy to understand. Clients need 3d all the time.....

  ### 41. Sketchup is A++

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Sketchup is easy to use and learn. I also enjoy how easy it is to use with other programs like Lumion.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I've not found a downside of the actual Sketchup Application yet, any downside I've come across has been due to user error.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketchup is helping me solve land design

  ### 42. 1 year as Sketchup Administrator

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alakesh T. | Service Desk analyst, Architecture & Planning, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Library files that allows us to access to abundant resourse saving our time is a good feature

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

There a lot of features which model the profiles easier on other similar platforms that could have been part of the overall modelling which it lacks, also the modelling of information is tricky.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is good for day to day modelling and rendering. Interface is quite clean thus saving us a lot of time, which otherwise would have taken on others software.

  ### 43. Wonderful and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chase B. | National Sales and project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

i have had great success in my time using sketchup creating great product visuals with a number of features that have a high frequency of use.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

ram usage. understadable however as this uses great power

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

helping me demonstrate all of the different parts of our product to customers

  ### 44. Great program for 3D renders and modeling!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jack M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

The library of items and the easy entry into basic modeling.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Learning curve can be tough for more in depth renderings and a lot of things have to be purchased from third party services for detailed renders, but overall, not bad.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a great visual for people who want to build with us, but can't imagine what their building will look like at exact scale. Being able to show them a complete building render is a huge benefit to selling them the end product and giving them peace of mind it will serve their needs well.

  ### 45. Advanced User after only a few years

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mikayla N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

SketchUp is very user-friendly and makes it easy to create 3D models in a matter of minutes. It's tools are easy to figure out and comes with the 3D Warehouse which includes pieces that can be adjusted to your project.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

The Rendering software is a bit challenging to figure out at times, particularly with artificial lighting, and it takes a long time to render images. Also inserting images to be used as backgrounds in models is a bit difficult to manipulate as well.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to create a visual for a space that can be used for potential clientele.

  ### 46. Excellent

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edgar C. | Draftsman, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Is really easy for the user, and it allows to keep learning.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I haven't had a bad experience or problem with the program for me to dislike it. The only comment is that some plug-ins don't work properly.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The quickness to do a 3D model for rendering.

  ### 47. Visualize reality

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

I use sketch up in a variety of ways. Some are small building projects, but others are just ways to visualize reality. To build models of ideas. To create digital prototypes. I find it intuitive and powerful.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

The pricing structure changed a couple of years back and that was hard to get used to, but I'm fine now.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to share ideas with clients and move around them in 3-D, which is very helpful for people who have trouble visualizing things.

  ### 48. Great for Students and Professionals Alike

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hannah B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Sketchup has been a great resource for me both with my professional and student work. I appreciate the ease of use - I learned Sketchup in just a few days. It's really great for creating animations and signage. I love how quick it is for drafting up conceptual ideas.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

It is not as in depth and practical as Revit for my professional work. I've never really tried to model a complex building in Sketchup because Revit is faster for these things.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is the quickets 3D modeling program out there and that helps speed up my workflow.

  ### 49. Great workspace

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marc S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Great workspace experience. Easy to use once you get the hang of things. Great features and the new flip is very handy. I use this product daily.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Learning the new developements. Education. Constant change in Rendering program with less eduaction on use.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping with showing clients our thoughts.
Great start to develop floorplans.

  ### 50. Great tool for visuals

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

It is very easy to use and apply realistic looking materials. I like that the 3D warehouse has many models that help speed up the design process. I use it consistently for client presentations and its the best tool for visualizing a space.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I use Sketchup as a more conceptual tool and to get an idea across. The downside is the level of accuracy and detail is not on par with other documentation tools.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us communicate the design.
