What do you like best about SimplePractice?

I love that SimplePractice is a one-stop shop for what we need. It keeps our billing, client organization and profiles, progress notes, calendars, and superbills together. I can handle autopay, credit cards, payments, invoicing, and see our ERAs in one place. I also value being able to see clients virtually and easily pull notes, make a PDF, and send it to an insurance company. The reporting and Insights area give us a bigger picture of kept sessions, late cancels, no-shows, clinician averages, and income from insurance companies. That helps with payroll and income allocation, lets us see where clinicians might improve with rescheduling, and gives the whole team a better understanding of what’s happening in the practice. I also find the initial setup was pretty easy—seamless, really. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimplePractice?

My video telehealth sessions buffer a lot and cause issues with sessions with clients. The reporting and insights have improved recently, but there’s still more that can be done. When ERAs post, information about a client’s copay or coinsurance is sometimes wrong or an invoice gets changed when it shouldn’t, so I have to fix it manually. SimplePractice also rolls out new features without telling us in advance. The “What’s New” button isn’t enough; I’d rather get a quick announcement so I know what’s new and can read more when I have time. The price keeps going up, and you charge us for every little thing. Admin teams should be included in the price. We’re paying almost $2,000 a month, and the cost keeps getting higher every year, which makes us want to look at other platforms.
